Friendly helpful staff and a clean store. Went in once recently to print and email since my home printer was out of ink. And I needed to get an application printed, scanned and emailed. Both staff members were very nice and understood my dilemma. Spoiler alert, I got the job. I also went back yesterday after missing the free shredding event at Earth Day yesterday. I wasn't aware the free shredding was only until 12p so since I had 3 brown paper bags of paper stuff I decided to come here to get rid of my stuff. I stopped by to use the self-service copier on Friday 02/14/2025. One of the copiers wasn't being cooperative in allowing me to access features. I ask for assistance from the young man in the print area, his name is Clinton. He quickly dropped what he was doing to come and assist me. He also explained my options with regard to paying for photocopies, something I would never have known but for Clinton's explanation. I am writing this as I sit in the parking lot waiting for curbside pick up of one item. We have watched an old pimp and meth/crackheads walk by repeatedly. After advising them by phone that we were here, a worker came out and said they would be right out with our item. That was a half hour ago. I wonder how long this is really going to take. Not sure if the item on sale is worth all this. So, all told we were there an hour. After 40 minutes and a second phone call the manager came out and said we can't do curbside pickup for a laptop and had to go inside for it. The pickup is in a red zone so my wife went in to get it while I waited in the car. She came out and checked the box against the receipt only to find they gave her the wrong laptop! Back in we went. Finally sorted i realized there were only 2 employees, one was the manager. They were polite and apologetic. I don't fault them. I do however blame Office Depot. Do better read more

Trying to get assistance in this store is like pulling freaking teeth. My husband is a business owner and is opening a new office. We came in prepared to spend some money on three new desks, three chairs, three computers and a printer. There was literally not another customer in the store, yet we couldn't get anyone to assist us even after asking. We waited around an extra 15 minutes after requesting help but finally left after it was clear they didn't want our business. Headed to another local store...I don't recommend coming here unless you can pick up what you want and get in & out without needing anyone's help. read more

Horrible customer service. Each time I have had to come to get pictures or printouts. I have been ignored. I stand at counter, no one else in the place waiting. The employee looks up sees me and says nothing. I figure any sec she will walk over or say something. 2 min later I say excuse me. I get a " be with you in a min" I wait 10 mins before I'm helped. I don't expect the employees to drop everything to help me but dang. I'm just here to pic up a picture the was supposed to be ready and waiting an hour prior. The Depot on oakdale rd is great. Interestingly this place has mostly one, or five star ratings. Which I can understand as I've had both very positive and a few negative experiences here over the years. I needed a new laptop, and I always liked the the selection, price, and the way they are displayed at this store. (Additionally they sell the brand I prefer) The staff was helpful and answered all my questions satisfactorily. I only wish they didn't push so hard on the up sell, however overall it was positive experience this time. I had done my homework, but I asked my questions, made my selection, and was out the door in about fifteen minutes. read more

I use Office Depot pretty regularly for printing. Usually they are pretty speedy and it turns out well, despite the fact that customer service is never a strong point at this store. However this time I am less than impressed by the inconsistency in information, as well as the customer service and handling of the problem. The last time I did a print job they encouraged me to try submitting it online so that I don't have to leave and come back again or wait for the print. They made it seem like it was faster turnaround. So this time, I figured I would try it. I needed 2 identical posters printed and laminated. I submitted the order around 10am. When I submitted the order it told me that they wouldn't be ready until 7pm which is too late for me to pick them up in time for work tomorrow. I called to see if this was correct and the person I talked to assured me that 7pm was the latest possible time and they would be "done well before the quoted time." I asked if it was possible to be done by 4-4:30 and they said they didn't see why not since that should be plenty of time. Well 4:30 comes around, and I hadn't heard from them so I call to check in. The phone rings for 4 minutes. Nobody answers. So I hang up, try again a few minutes later. Somebody answers after another minute of ringing, connects me to the print shop and I ask for an update on my order. The guy, who sounded annoyed that I'd called, said "oh are they for today?" And I said "yes of course they're for today. I specified same day in the order." And he replies "oh well I got the email earlier. I will print them later. They should be done by 7." I told him "I called earlier and somebody verified they should be done long before then." He said "yeah well it just depends on how busy we get and how much comes in after yours. So it'll be done by 7. Okay? Okay. See you at 7, bye." Then hung up on me. Firstly, you shouldn't just glaze over the discrepancy in information and hang up on your customer. It's unprofessional and rude. Secondly, It's ridiculous that they wouldn't do jobs, especially ones same-day, in order of receiving them. Would this have happened had I gone into the store to place the order? Probably not, because they probably would have prioritized it over somebody that submitted online. Third, even if you're insanely busy, somebody should pick up the phone and at the very least say "Office Depot, please hold" so your call is acknowledged. That is basic customer service. Overall, a poor experience. Also, I will now NOT have these posters in time for work tomorrow, because we open earlier than Office Depot does... read more

I know I am racking up so many favorite places to do business with and Office Depot definitely is one of the best places to get software and hardware advice. I had to update some of my software today and so I went in and talked to a sales associate by the name of Lee. I was really impressed at his knowledge of software, then I decided to ask about wifi, dsl, cable, satellite internet service providers. Lee didn't blink an eye and gave me a quick, concise rundown of the available services and pros and cons of each. After inquiring about the ISPs, I had to ask about wireless routers with G and N capabilities. Lee didn't fail answering one question. If you happen to be in the area and need accurate computer consultation services see Lee at Office Depot. I spent 60 dollars in software today and I will spend another couple hundred more in upgrades because Lee explained how it would be an advantage to me. Lately when I ask at other retailers about computer software and hardware. Their response on choosing upgrades is Mo money Mo bettah. Lee at Office Depot showed me how I can utilize midrange priced hardware and use the rest of the money in other useful upgrades. Not much different than Office Max with one exception, the staff. The staff here seemed to know what they were talking about. When I asked if they had a certain type of gel ink refill the person I was talking to didn't know so contacted another person and they told me they didn't have what I wanted, but, he gave me a web site where I could find it. Thumbs up in the knowledge department. The rest of the staff was very friendly and really made me feel like I was important. I have been using this store for many years to purchase everything from basic office supplies to computers and other technology equipment for my business. I like the fact that I can see and judge what I want to buy, rather than ordering on line and having to waste time on returns. I have always found the staff helpful and patient - and if the person I was working with didn't have an answer, they found somebody who did. I trust their advice and recommendations. I also appreciate how they honor their offers. I bought a notebook computer which in the ad said it came with MS Office. Turns out, it didn't - but they installed the software at no charge because of the ad. I'm a staunch advocate of supporting local brick and mortar stores, and this is definitely one I will continue to patronize. read more

Phoned in and Store associate Ninfa patiently took the time to research the availabilty and in stock status of the item , verified that it was in stock and set it aside for my declared later pickup. Upon arrival pickup I was greeted by store Associate Brandi who quickly located item, rung it up and I was on my way. The manner in which this transaction was conducted deserves commendation and recognition. Customer service of this level sets the standard for customer service and support. HOURS ON DOOR SAY 8:00am-8:00pm. Apparently their own employees aren't sure what they are.. I walked in at 7:52pm, just to get one thing. I wasn't going to be browsing the store. My transaction would have taken 3 minutes, just like it ended up being at STAPLES. I asked the red headed lady where I would find the item, and she replies with "our registers are closed. We close in 2 minutes." I looked at my watch, and I said "no you close in 8 minutes." She didn't offer to open one to help me, just couldn't help me. Why even keep the store open for 8 more minutes? I'm sure they were closed for 10-15 minutes. Literally no reason to have the doors open if you're going to turn everyone away since you close in 8 minutes. I've worked retail in the past, and I've never closed registers prior to the posted times. Like she said "unfortunately" I'll be reporting this incident to corporate tomorrow morning.. You're being paid to do your job, that you're obviously not doing and losing revenue and they should know about that. read more

When we discovered one of the desks had damage to it. I called the manager in Modesto and not only did he replace the item immediately. He also carried it to my jeep himself. I came here after having a horrible experience at the UPS store. It was extremely busy in the mail area and the employees were courteous and let us know they would be right with us. They also asked for help from the manager many times. A very nice young woman named Van helped me. I was able to print my return Amazon label and label it for the whopping price of .14. The morons at the UPS store wanted to charge me $3.00 to use their computer and $1.00 to print a single page. Van saved the day and took care of everything for me. I came to this Office Depot to order some office furniture for our business in Modesto. According to the Office Depot website the furniture we needed was currently in stock at this location on Briggsmore Ave. When I showed up with a U Haul to buy and deliver the furniture, unfortunately they were out of stock on the desk we needed. They ended up ordering it for us, and we came back a week later to retrieve it. They need to better correlate the inventory on the website with the actual inventory on hand. Other than that experience, I've generally always been pleased with this Office Depot. read more

I wish my review could be as nice as every one elses...but you know there is always one person that spoils it. My pc monitor dies on me so I called around for the best prices in town and Office Depots was pretty decent. so I called and asked "Mike" to put it on hold which he did and was quite helpful..he wasn't the problem. I get to the store to pick it up and a girl ran (in a very rushy manner) to get it for me and everything was great. The young lady was nice enough even though I felt I was taking her away from something else and was rushed. I asked her what the return policy was ..(thinking there might be a chance it was my old pc and not the monitor that was broken and if it were then I would want to return the monitor). She tells me "with original receipt within 14 days" then I asked about the warranty and she explained office depots and the brands limited warranty's. fair enough I thought. Then when I got home a thought crossed my mind about the 'restocking fee' I checked the receipt and said only if parts were missing or lost box..ok that was fine too, then I noticed that a return can ONLY be done as an exchange..... This was never mentioned to me after I had asked her about the return policy. now there is no way I can return it and stuck with a monitor. Also I would like to know what I'm paying for...the $8 for E-waste she didn't mention that either, I have no problem paying for that but I didn't know what E-waste fee is ..I don't buy electronics every day! Of course they told me the manager was not in and will be in tomorrow. Trust me they will hear from me. I too work in retail and I know my return policies and when asked or may feel the customer needs the info I will gladly tell them because I know they will only come back and gripe. Companies need to retrain their employees not just on store policies but actually how to interact with a customer. I have many faithful customers that only will shop with me for their products because they know they are treated well and in good hands. Service is certainly not how it used to be..and we, the ones who are buying sometimes are herded in and out like cattle. I need to purchase a Kindel Fire 7 as a present. I called the Sisk store and talked to Megan. She confirmed they had one in stock. I asked her to physically confirm that they had it in the store before I took off work early and drove to their store. Upon arrival I was told the only one in stock was a demo model and it was NOT for sale. I asked nicely to speak to the store manager but was told he was NOT available. I feel I received some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They tried to do nothing to help the situation. Even WALMART has better customer service than these clowns. read more

I am a regular at Office Depot and Office Maxx I use them for my resumes quite often. But today when I went into get one it was a problem...usually when I email my resume over for print it doesn't send correctly usually the format has to be re-centered or a few words deleted while today I was told they are not allowed to edit and if they were to do so it was 24.00 a minute. What the fuck???? Again I am a regular customer the people I seen today are people I've never encountered. I literally was there last week and the man that helped me helped me with no issue what so ever I had to delete a few words on my resume and re-Center it he did so with no issue. I've been going here for over two years and never once have been told they would have to charge me for editing my resume its not like I'm having them build my resume...just simple fixes plus I get it printed on resume paper. She said today she will let it pass but next time she has to charge me I explained to her they've never not even once have charged me for services I needed besides the print and resume paper. Remind you my resume is almost less than a page long. Same at office Max they have never charged me to edit my resume ethier. Excellent Management at this store!!! Madrid, the store Manager is running cash registers, carrying out customer merchandise to load it for them, and giving wonderful customer service with a smile!! As someone who's worked in the customer service industry for over twenty years it's few and far between these days to find management who is willing to jump right in and"get their hands dirty" so to speak. Madrid goes above and beyond! I had a situation with my new printer. It was printing out colored stripes on each page for no reason. Being a business owner we depend heavily on our equipment and couldn't afford to replace this very recently purchased item. I had misplaced the receipt and throw out the box it came in as we didn't expect such a new printer to have a problem. Madrid didn't have one in stock so he personally called Office Max and asked their Manager to exchange my printer for a brand new one and they did!! He saved the day and we couldn't be more grateful!! Everyone I spoke to was extremely helpful throughout the entire process and it just goes to show what kind of reputation one store can build with good Management behind them!
