Horrible service by Eric Milan. UNACCEPTABLE TREATMENT: RACIST SERVICE EXPERIENCE. I recently visited Big Foot Carpet in Salida and unfortunately encountered deeply concerning behavior from one of the staff member name Eric. Despite being a paying customer, I was subjected to overt racism that left me feeling humiliated and deeply upset. During my visit, I was met with a hostile glance and dismissive attitude from Eric. When I attempted to engage with him, I was met with rude remarks and blatant discrimination based on my race (Hispanic, Black and Asian). I heard every racist comment he made about me and family and the comments about the other customers when he went into the backroom ( I have to help Blacky? Slant eyes doesn't know what he wants? Wetback Alert?). This type of treatment is not only unacceptable but also incredibly damaging. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect courtesy regardless of my race. Experiencing racism in any form is dehumanizing and completely uncalled for. No one should have to endure such treatment, especially in a public establishment. My experience at Big Foot Carpet was marred by racism, and I strongly advise against supporting an establishment that condones such behavior. Discrimination has no place in our society, and it's up to all of us to speak out against it whenever and wherever it occurs! read more

The carpet store isn't so bad but the installers they use aren't worth crap. The padding I paid for was supposed to be great but when it was installed, the padding was thin and in my hall where the fools spliced the padding you can both see and feel where they spliced two different padding thicknesses. And where they p spliced the the carpet at the doorway you can feel the splice. When I contacted Big Foot Carpet they said they don't have a record of who installed my carpet. read more

Update 12/10: Once again Eric would be a reason we went back to Big Foot. After hearing our issues, he got a hold of the installer and they came out and finished the job. Thanks Eric! If this review was only For Big Foot Carpet it would be 5 stars. Eric did a great job, when shipping issues came up he found solutions and our flooring was to us when it was supposed to be. The reason for the lower rating is because of the "expert installers" that we were referred to. A five man crew came out to install flooring and baseboards. The job was rushed and the baseboards were not finished. What was finished was not professional. Then when the carpet came only one guy was sent to install, and we are having lifting issues and the seems separating. Then when they were supposed to come and finish the baseboards no one showed or called, still waiting, will probably have to complete it ourselves. Save yourself some time and stay away from this place, this place is pure garbage. I showed up with nobody in the store, one guy came out front and said I'm busy it's going to be a while. I had my seven-month-old in the car seat, but I'm understanding, sometimes you catch somebody in the middle of something. Why Bigfoot only has one person for the entire show room boggles my mind. But I wait. 20 minutes later still never makes contact with me and at this point I'm thinking I should just go home and get ready to feed the kid. I had the sample of the carpet that I wanted and it was going to be an easy quick transaction. It would have been nice if he would've Just asked me what I wanted, I would have been happy to leave my phone number and the sample of carpet. This place is a joke just stay away. He read more

I needed new carpet in my master bedroom and I went to Lowe's and Home Depot first.. needless to say it was very expensive and the carpet needed to be ordered, then I needed to schedule installation, etc. I decided to try Big Foot Carpet in Salida, CA. Eric helped us at the store and answered our questions, in less then 15 mins I had set up a time to have the carpet installed, the carpet was in stock, and didn't have to wait over a month like the other stores. I went to Big Foot Carpet and let them know what I was looking for and was shown many great options. I was able to find a nice remnant at half the price of the big stores quote. Awesome flooring business! We have been doing business with this particular location for 20 years and they are always pleasant to work with. They work with you on finding the best solution and they are honest about the work that goes into certain types of flooring. Not only that, but they were gracious enough to work with the budget I had. I highly recommend this place! I don't go anywhere else within a 50 mile radius. And lastly, the person running this location Jesse is always great to work with and is in constant communication. He went the extra mile to find me a person to stretch and tack my carpet down. The staff was beyond friendly, spent a bunch of time helping me decide how much carpet I would need and the best ways to cut it (to get the most from the size of carpet). We just had new carpet put in our entire upstairs yesterday. And I am IN LOVE!!! We went into Big Foot last weekend, had a free estimate and measurement done that night. Eric was so thorough, quick, courteous, and professional. They had our carpet ordered and delivered a few days later.
