Title: Advertised price not honored Review: I found an engine listed by LKQ on Car-Part for $1,106. When I called the number on the listing, it went directly to LKQ in Illinois, and I was directed to their website to purchase it. The exact same engine with the same part number was listed there for $1,223.50. Since it was after hours and I wanted to secure the engine, I purchased it. The next day I contacted customer service expecting them to correct the difference since it was their own listing. Customer service (Jo) first said the difference was due to shipping, which made no sense because I also paid $330 separately for shipping. Then she said it was tax, even though tax was also added on top of the $1,223.50 purchase price. The final explanation was that they "don't price match other companies." The issue is this was not another company -- it was LKQ's own listing on Car-Part, their own phone number, and their own website. Refusing to honor your own advertised price is disappointing and feels like a very misleading way to do business. read more

We purchased a used transmission from LKQ with a warranty ($3,083.82). After installation and proper reprogramming, the transmission immediately showed problems. We followed all procedures and contacted both the sales representative and the sales manager. We submitted all documentation, including proof of reprogramming, under claim #878173. Despite multiple follow-ups, we never received a proper response. LKQ has failed to honor the warranty, and the lack of accountability is extremely disappointing. On August 7th, I went to LKQ location in Phoenix AZ to pick up a part that I purchased an ABS actuator for a 2013 Toyota Prius. Attached you'll find a copy of the invoice. By the time I made it to my car which was parked in their company parking lot someone called me from the order desk and informed me the part that I just picked up was incomplete So, I went back in and asked one of the customer service Rep behind the counter they basically informed me that the park came out of New Mexico, and they were going to email their New Mexico location and request the other half of the part. He told me the other half was the part would be here next day, so I said OK I'll see you tomorrow. I went back in on August 8th to pick up the other half of the part and the order desk representative basically told me that that part wasn't there, and the New Mexico location had not responded to their email. I was basically told I was going to have to wait until the New Mexico location finally got around to sending me the part. I asked representative I could get some kind of credit for the inconvenience because the part wasn't sent complete in the first place. He went over and grabbed his manager basically informed me that he could probably source the part from another location the only problem is it would take about a week. Got extremely frustrated because during the whole interaction not once did the parts representative or the manager take the initiative to get on the phone with the New Mexico location to locate the part. The whole attitude that the parts representative and the manager displayed was apathetic at best. If I could leave 0 stars I would! I waited a week to receive a wheel for my 2017 Volvo S60 being shipped from California to Tennessee. I had the wheel shipped straight to Firestone so they could promptly do the repairs. The package was delivered through UPS Tuesday, August 12th. I called Firestone to verify the delivery was made. They confirmed with me that it was, however, it was the wrong wheel. LKQ packaged a VW wheel. I contacted LKQ Returns to let them know about what happened. The agent I spoke with, Lindsey Simons, was not professional at all. She spoke to me as if I was lying saying she would need pictures and my VIN before anything could be done to correct this. I sent the pictures over and told her I did not appreciate her attitude or tone over the phone. Lindsey never replied to my email. Yesterday morning, Wednesday, August 13th, I called LKQ Returns again. I got a different agent this time. I can't remember his first name, but last name Loveless. He asked for my VIN and I gave him my wheel size, 18x8, 10 spoke. However, this time I asked for a picture of the wheel that was supposedly available. He said sure and that he'd email it over. When I was able to check my email I saw that it was STILL NOT THE RIGHT WHEEL. When I called back again I was told there was no wheel available to for my car. I'm wondering if there was ever one in the first place! I paid $344 and have nothing! My car is still sitting at Firestone as I look for a rim. I have asked to speak to a supervisor repeatedly and constantly told something different; they aren't available, there's no one in the office, they're in a meeting, etc. I even asked for someone to contact me by the close of business yesterday and nothing. I dropped part off at UPS yesterday evening and I would like my refund processed immediately. Companies like this are quick to take our hard earned money and slow at returning it. All I would like is an apology for my terrible customer experience and my money refunded expeditiously- not the 5-7 business days. read more

I bought an inverter/converter for a 2015 prius. It was guaranteed to have been tested. It kept throwing a u0110 code. I triple checked my connections, and then replaced it with the old defective converter/inverter, and while the prius is still throwing the original p0a94 code, it's actually able to drive. Whereas with the LKQ one I paid $700 for including shipping, It won't even turn on. It will cost me as much in shipping to return the part. Two bad experiences. First, I picked up my used tailgate which was rated A by LKQ. During their process of retrieval, it was damaged in multiple places with dents and scratches. I was told by their management to supply an estimate from my body shop and they would cover it. I was not given any time frame. However, when the work was completed in 36 days, the manager told me I was 6 days too late, and they wouldn't cover it. After multiple emails and phone calls, the best they offered was a very small credit. My other bad experience was with their website and call center. The website was not thorough enough to decide if the part was the right fit for a console. i called and was put on hold for over an hour. Finally, the costumer service person clearly did not like her job and did the bare minimum. I decided to shop elsewhere. I am done with this place! I'll never do business with them again! read more

If I could rate them a zero or negative I would. This is the craziest experience I have ever seen, who ever runs this business or writes there "Terms" is an absolute idiot. Their supervisors don't call back, I ordered a REMAN engine, got it installed, following all procedures, and it was knocking on start up with a heavy misfire- We went through the warranty process which they will only pay a fraction of our labor rate when it was bad off the shelf. I get the terms of the warranty or $95/Hour, but the owner hasn't even taken the vehicle yet, and it is bad, that should be at 100% of the manufacture to cover. Now we have got the second engine in, and the P3400 code keeps coming back, and there is an issue internally with this engine, (The same as the first engine, but not knocking at least). If that isn't bad enough, they want me to wait until the first replacement engine gets back to them in Texas, to inspect, before they can send out a new engine. Like this is crazy to me and terrible customer service. All I get back is I can't do anything about it, that's in the terms of the warranty, and that I can't talk to a supervisor they don't do that! WHAT!! what is a supervisor for? I have been waiting 2.5 weeks for a call back from a supervisor and still haven't received one after multiple requests. like this company is beyond disorganized. read more

Lkq sucks, get your used parts anywhere else. They will sell you a warranty but it does nothing, they just basically give you the cost of the warranty back and mutter about how you should be glad to get that and give you the middle finger. We had been regular customers for almost 10 years, engines, transmissions, name it...we got it here. The one time we purchased and needed the extra coverage from a warranty and lkq has determined the labor to be covered gets covered at like $30 an hour and that a transmission swap can be done in 4 hours. I should have just kept what i spent on the warranty, it was equal to the 'coverage' they sent. I will no longer use LKQ for anything as powertrain products, ebay, rock auto, parts geek, benzeen, andersens...etc never treat us poorly or misrepresent their products. A 10 year customer is warning you, dont use lkq, and if you do make no presumption theyll do anything to cover your or the losses of your mechanic. Theyll leave you in a bad financial spot and seeminly not care at all. Not a good look. Not a good purchase. Ebay offers better parts coverages. Chinese parts on amazon, homemade parts taped together out of cardboard might be a better choice. Ill certainly find out as i will not return to lkq for anything. Spent weeks trying to sort the warranty with them and they are basically just ignoring my requests for completing the warranty refund. Purchased a transmission for a 2014 Sonata with 61k miles on it from LKQ. After self installing it myself, I found that it was bad transmission. I filed a warranty claim explaining the issue. I received emailed a day later stating my vehicle must be at a licensed repair facility and diagnosed prior to filing a claim. Since the vehicle would not move and would need to be towed to a licensed facility at my cost, only to have them say, we need to pull it out to determine what is wrong, did not make financial sense since that would be $1,300-$1,500. with the transmission was less the $350. . I purchased another transmission from LKQ with 57k miles. I uninstalled the bad one and replaced it with the new one, two days later. The second transmission worked great with no issues. I proceeded to called LKQ to see what they could or would do under their warranty. I was told that since I took the bad transmission out I voided my warranty and they could do nothing. I asked to speak with a supervisor and I was told their was no supervisor, as Denis the one I was talking with, handles all claims for the company. Gearheads sells the garbage reman tranny by LKQ. Installed first one myself, took time and pride in DIY, all worked good. Had leak from front pump seal. Red fluid from peep hole at bottom of bell-housing after 1 week driving. Warrantee only covers $50/hr, local shops all charge $140 to $180. With no time to replace myself again, I agree to pay $1500 at shop and get reimbursed less than $600. Shop installs replacement, leak from pan gasket. FOr over a week now, even with photos of leak, LKQ not agreeing to make the repair. read more

I purchased a drivers side mirror for a 2013 Malibu. Website listed it as in stock on a white Malibu. That was the mirror I purchased on that car supposedly. They called said it did not meet quality standards and they would have to source it from another location and the arrival date had changed. Ok no problem I can understand that. The part arrived and it was not white, it was burgundy. Well I ordered the mirror off the white one so I could install myself. I called they said they did not guarantee color. Then why tell me that mirror is in stock. Totally misrepresented the source of the mirror and when they changed source they did not tell me that there could be a color change. I ordered a new wheel for my car and the pictures for the wheel on LKQ's website included the tire, which then did not come (only the rim). I called customer service and they refused to acknowledge that the pictures are misleading and told me that "we don't sell tires" over and over. I then had to pay to send the rim back as well as absorb the cost of their original shipping. So I paid them $100 to send me something that they refused to acknowledge was NOT what thought I was buying (i.e., what's on the website) and the customer service was downright passive-aggressively rude and unwilling to hear me. It then took them an entire week to acknowledge that the center had received the rim when I sent it back, even though I gave them USPS tracking #s that proved that it had, in fact, arrived. About a week after ordering I recieved an email stating that the will call location had been shut down and was asked if another location, that was actually nearer to me would be ok, to which I replied "absolutely fine". I waited about 2 weeks and heard nothing, so I called and the sales rep assumed it should have been delivered to the will call facility, and transfered me to the facility. The facility told me that my order had been cancelled by me....At this point I called back the sales rep who told me my order didn't look cancelled on his end, so he transfered to customer service who were closed early. So I called the next day only to be told by customer service that I cancelled the order, and I would havve to reorder. I am now ordering the fender from somewhere else. LKQ is not professional, the different departments pass the buck and won't take any responsibility, was never offered expedited shipping because of their mistake. Bottom of the barrel customer service no matter who you speak with. Sold me a transmission for my Hyundai Elantra. I had it installed professionally at Hyundai dealership for $1,200 in labor. Turns out it leaked... pretty heavily too. Called LKQ and was told not to worry; just make a warranty claim and be reimbursed for the cost of the installation of the 2nd transmission once it arrives. Additionally, I had purchased the labor warranty for $134 giving extra "peace-of-mind" in the off-chance of a problem. Surprise!! Leaking transmission. Read the fine print of the labor warranty. They only pay $50 per hour labor (Good luck finding engine/transmission shop for anywhere near that rate - my local Hyundai dealer is $149 per hour) and use "all data" to determine what they will pay. I was charged $1,017 for the second transmission installation and they sent me a check for $295, which is $50 per hour at 5.9 hours. I am now out over $700 for the second transmission installation all because they sent a leaky transmission that was never checked and verified to be good. My review is a last resort - but I've tried resolving the matter with several "managers" and was met with a cold, short attitude and an unwillingness to discuss the matter - just scripted robotic responses and getting hung up on once they're done with their script. A real sad example of a business in 2022. I'd have no problem chalking this up to a lesson learned if they had not wrongfully sent a leaking transmission and refused to go good for it! read more
