I was looking for a 71mm hex socket to charge the transmission fluid on my Range Rover. So I looked for the socket, took me a minute to find it. I found a half inch socket and I looking for a 3/4 inch, but it will work. So I get in line and I want for one of the"boys" to say can 'I help you?' Nothing. So I wait, and wait, and wait till some young lady see's me and ask if she can help me. Well when we move to the register, what the three young boys were doing was playing with Finger skateboards off the machine that prints receipts!! Having a Masters Degree in IT at some point that machine will break because of the difficulty of the finger skateboard attempts. Well I ask the young lady is this playing around ignoring the customer to play with their toys was ok? She just shrugged her shoulders. I asked for a manager and it just dawned on me as the boys were pointing, they were pointing at her! I'll be dam, she was the manager, so the boys were allowed by the baby sitter to play with their toys. Calling corporate first thing Monday.

More $$$ to fix the problem. Texted my son-in-law who said my daughter had an app on her phone to diagnose the problem electronically without any cost, but she was unavailable. "But you can go to Advance Auto Parts and they'll probably check it for free." He sent me an address. For free? Rather unheard of. And bingo - generous Jeff came out to my car, ran the gizmo that diagnoses a warning light on a dashboard, showed me the system area that was causing the problem, kindly and clearly explaining everything he understood about it. Back to son-in-law. Infused with "now-we're-gettin'-somewhere" energy from the free Advance Auto Parts diagnosis, he quickly researched, then sent me more possibilities and options. So I returned inside Advance Auto Parts, store #6615, the Havana St. store just north of E Mississippi Avenue. Jeff gone on break, a second employee came out and looked under the hood. He too very patiently described what he saw, as he tightened all the connections, pointing out what was what, and why some parts were difficult to get to easily. Armed with educational information from both employees, I drove back to the dealership service building. But pulling up, I realized the "Check" light which had been glaring at me from my dashboard for 3 days had disappeared (and thus confirming one possibility my son-in-law had discovered online that would explain the warning light.) Jeff had located the source of the problem, and the 2nd employee had - as he checked the connections - tightened whatever was causing the imbalance problem. 5 stars for super nice people, excellent customer service, accurate diagnosis of problem, then solving it. Oh - and for saving me a bunch of money!

They got this nifty tester that will tell you about the battery conditions and also the charging system. Ended up buying new battery and installing it on site. Acting as though they are confident in their knowledge of auto parts. That is far from true, I recently went into this Auto Zone and had some kid who had his haircut done with a salad bowl on his head and confirm my rear rotors and breaks were Active and covered. I have a mechanic working on my vehicle and discovered that they weren't. I do not know why they opened this store without properly trained employees. You guys make a net income of $2.5 billion a year, and $18.94 billion in total revenue. Your stock price is higher than even a hospitals stock price coming in at $2,855 and your telling me with all that revenue you can't hire proper trainers to train employees or pay their employees better so that they are motivated to train instead of throwing these uneducated employees to the wolves?

This is the ultimate treasure hunt, hey in these rough times if your car breaks down Pull-N-Save…read morecan literally come to the rescue! So say you have a Honda Accord because they are super reliable and get great gas mileage etc. well say the Accord you own is belligerent and decides to break down more then average! Well after replacing her clutch for the second time, She decides to stop starting! Starter really aren't that expensive and not that hard to change, but with times being as they are I would rather get one for $14.99 then for $145.75. This is where treasure hunt now begins, Pull-N-Save is a giant lot of broke down and wrecked cars, bringing light the perennial phrase of one man's junk is another mans treasure, they also bring in new cars weekly and you can check the website for the latest hot cars for parts that were just brought in. Do some research because allot of times your car can cannibalize parts from various others years and models of other cars. For instance the first time I went there was a Accord from another year and not armed with the proper knowledge I didn't quickly swipe the starter for my car. So I left this adventure without said starter but with a new antenna and license plate holder! WOOT WOOT, research at home then showed me that the starter from this year would have indeed worked on my car but upon return it has hence been swiped by another parts scavenger! This is definitely a cost effective way to locate and replace parts on your automobile, it is a treasure hunt and you have to be a scavenger and your going to get dirty! None the less if you score the needed part you have saved yourself some buck! The engine was seized and the battery was immediately returned back to O'Reilly who refused to return my cash for the battery. I went to several O'Reilly stores that used the same excuse, "I don't have enough cash in my drawer for the return can you come back later in the day when I have more cash!" Lies; I watched the cashier hold up several one hundred dollar bills up to the light ensuring they were not counterfeit while I waited in line to be serviced! I was very disappointed in the lack of customer service at each O'Reilly auto parts I went to! Finally, I requested a manager of sorts I expressed my concerns and asked if a large amount of cash isn't refundable why are you not posting this information for us customers to see!? He immediately issued me my cash and said that they don't usually give money back for batteries that have been used! Again the engine is seized, that's why I immediately returned the battery! Smgdh!!
