I tried this place based on the reviews and BEWARE the food is not nearly as good as the reviews are. I went in and got a pizza and the sauce was salt and the cheese was sour. Also, We brought in wine since it was "BYOB", but a man gave us an attitude when we asked him for glasses. Ill be looking for another real New York Style restaurant. read more

We had the Margarita and vegetarian pizza with chicken. The chicken tasted as if it was boiled and there was no seasoning. The basil and mozzarella were fresh but the bread was OK. They need to really improve the ambience of the place. read more

This little mom/pop Italian place is our favorite! Everything we have tried has been wonderful and the staff is so friendly. Feels like home! The lunch specials are a great deal. We were a little scared at first since it was such a small place, cash only, and byob, but we are always up for something new. I'm so glad that we decided to come. There is a 7-eleven in the same parking lot so if you need to grab some cash or some booze you can. We had the chicken wings, greek salad, chicken parmesan, and chicken aristocrat. All of them were amazing and that fact that our waitress kept up with our witty banter was the icing on the cake. We definitley will be back for some more. read more

This place has the best Italian food I've eaten in Dallas/Ft. Worth. I am Italian and cook a lot of it, and this would be the only other place I would eat it besides my kitchen in this area! 3 of us ate. We had the lg. greek salad ($5.25): generous portion, beautiful onions, tomatoes, olives and tons of feta cheese, and they make homemade dressing - the greek dressing was phenominal! Had a pesto essense to it, very good! Then we had a pizza and a pasta dish. Simple pizza, pepperoni (med. around $12): good crust, nice cheese, pepperoni was just ok, I would definitely go with one of their speciality pizzas next time, they said the margarita pizza is delicious and I'm sure that it is! Pasta dish was the special for the night, Spinach Ravioli with Portobello Mushroom and Alfredo sauce ($8.95): WOW!!! Absolutely delicious!! The ravolis are made fresh, spinach pasta, filled with ricotta and spinach, beautiful alfredo sauce with perfectly cooked portobello slices. Definitely my favorite thing! We spooned some of the alfredo onto our pizza slices and took them to the next level! Our bill was $26 dollars. 3 of us ate and were stuffed! Had a couple slices to take home, and its BYOB, which I love! Very nice staff, clean and fresh dining area, small fresh flowers on the table... very nice experience! Ordered the Supreme X-Large pizza - looked good but was tasteless, ingredients were not fresh, pepperoni was blah, and the cheese was really bad. We questioned what the white cheese was as it did not taste like mozzarella and they said it was lowfat cheese. Even though I had a groupon, I feel cheated - I would not recommend this place to anyone who has ever had a good pizza before. Tonight, my wife and I discovered a gem in the Midcities. Lizzano's now has become our date night restaurant. My wife loves Italian food, but I always veto because I don't. I love pizza, and she can't most days. Ignoring the menu I ordered two slices of supreme pizza thinking it would be small. I was wrong. The slices were huge! She had spaghetti with Italian sausage. She eat it up in minutes. She said it was the best spaghetti she has ever had. The food was amazing, but the staff was what made the restaurant the best we have ever eaten at. Went to Lizzano's for the first time today looking for some authentic Margherita pizza and I found it. I got a 12" pie and even though its just me eating it, I want to eat the whole thing. I will definitely go back, and recommend this place to others. The owners were very nice and were asking about my day. I really want to like this place but so far I'm just not feeling the love for it. It is a totally unassuming, quaint neighborhood spot. It is very small, probably no more than 8-10 white tablecloth covered tables so it make for a cozy eatery. I like the fact that they are BYOB and cash only as it does help keep costs down. They also do takeout. For the food though, maybe I just haven't ordered the right item yet. It isn't bad, but, so far, it isn't special either. I will try it another couple of times and hope to find that gem of a dish, but at this time I can't recommend driving out of your way to try this place. read more

My husband and I were excited to find a local pizza place when we moved to the area from a larger city. We discovered Lizzano's through searching Yelp and were convinced by the large amount of positive reviews. Our first experience was decent, nothing extraordinary, but better than any other suburban pizza we have found thus far in the area. And prices were very reasonable. However, our experience tonight was incredibly disappointing. When searching the menu online, we read descriptions of the pizza and settled on a "ranch" style pizza, that was described as having grilled chicken, fresh basil and mozzarella. We assumed that it would be typical pizza sauce as all the other pizzas were described with "white' sauce, alfredo, or anything different than a standard pizza sauce. When we got the pizza we dismayed to find a greasy, cheese pizza with ranch dressing and a few chunks of chicken on top. And the basil, that was supposed to be on there was more of a garnish, to keep the pizza from being a complete mess. When we took a bite, we realized that it really was just ranch dressing as the sauce, and couldnt bear to eat any more. As much as I hate to waste food and money, we ended up throwing the entire pizza away and ended up getting Chickfila instead. It was such a disappointing experience and could have been prevented if the owners would give a complete description of the ingredients in each pizza. Unfortunately, we felt cheated and will most likely not go back. read more
