This is the only asian salon in the west (Debbie is chinese). I thought i finally caught a break as every korean salon is in the south and a 20 min drive/1hr bus ride. the atmosphere is cozy and casual, I've been here twice now. But for being a "master stylist", Debbie has messed up my haircut not once, but twice. I gave her the benefit of the doubt but that was a mistake and i hated my hair until it could grow out and mask the issues. Any good stylist should not have that problem. That was 2 months ago. I'm writing this review now because i went to a korean salon and they cut my hair 100x better than what i had before Uneven sides, bad blunt cuts, poor layers that made my hair lay flat, and she seemed to be unsure of doing hairstyles that weren't your typical asian haircut. She'll follow instructions one moment, then ignore a different set of instructions the next this salon is overpriced. I was charged $300 for hair services which i later found out was a scam because other salons do it at $150. you pay 30 for a men trim that only covers your side and back that Debbie rushes through and finishes in 10 minutes. This is ok for fades but just go to a barber for cheaper... any korean hairstyle out there that isn't two block will look off with only your side and back trimmed but the top growing too long If you're not specifically looking for an asian stylist, yes, I could recommend this salon if not for the surplus in costs. But if you have korean/asian hair like me I recommend just going to an actual korean salon. read more

Completely happy with my visit to this salon. I got a cut and colour with Debbie and am really happy with the results! Service is super friendly and it was easy to schedule an appointment online via their website. They also do nails and lashes here. I'll definitely try those services next time! I really like how this salon is not pretentious. When getting my hair done, I prefer a laid back atmosphere. read more

After getting a perm my hair flattened out an hour after my appointment. This was done by the owner who asked me to come in 3 days after my initial appointment. She would wash it and have a look. She was really dismissive saying but there is curl and went to the other end of the spectrum of in order to get the curl you want you might have to get an old lady perm. Perms with other stylist have turned out really well but she kept making comments like "perms back in the day" and referring to 80's hair styles. Also said that my hair is picking up moisture and humidity in the air and that is flattening it. So now I've paid 200.00 for a perm that is flat. What a disappointment. read more

Worst customer service I have ever encountered. I had an appointment for 4pm, arrived at 330pm and was YELLED at by the owner for being late. She refused to do my manicure, pedicure and just completely embarrassed me in front of all the other customers. I've been getting regular cuts from Lindsey for years. To be honest she is the only person I truly trust with my hair. I can tell her to "make me look good" and she actually does! I always leave totally happy with my cut. I have really fine hair but she cuts it in a way that gives me the most body and volume I've ever had. Personally I have black hair but I've seen her do some amazing things with color and extensions while I've been there. I think the staff here are approachable and nice and the prices aren't outrageous and you can trust them with your hair. read more

I got my hair bleached here in February, it has taken me almost a year to write this review. First, I must say if you have blonde hair I highly recommend you DO NOT see Debbie at Live to Dye salon. I went to see her with minor damaged, multi toned brassy blonde hair that had been ruined by another stylist. I booked a consultation because I wanted her to understand what I wanted done and to see if she could do it. I asked if she could do a half head of roots and try to touch up some of the brass. I knew my hair could not handle too much damage. At the time she seemed very kind, knowledgeable and understood what I wanted. Well, that all changed the day of my appointment. I arrived and upon sitting down in the chair, she decided she wanted to bleach bath my hair ALL OVER... At that point I was extremely nervous and knew I was in trouble. She kept saying "Just trust me" but the more I worried the angrier she became. After Debbie washed my hair, it was time to comb it. I was holding tears back as chunks were being brushed out of my hair. Ive never seen this before two years being blonde. After worrying and being very vocal about it, I could see the concern on D ebbies face. It was almost as if she had no idea how to bleach hair. My hair was so fried, she put a gloss over it, told me a toner would wash right out of my hair. The worst part was, my roots were a completely different color from the rest of my hair. (Roots were darker) Being so upset, I just wanted this experience over and prayed what I had left of my hair wouldn't fall out. When it came time to pay, all I can say is oh my goodness. I could not believe what she was trying to charge me for literally destroying my hair! It was near the cost of car tires!!! I was there for 4 hours. A few months went by, my hair kept breaking off everywhere and falling out. So I decided to call Debbie to see if there was any way she could compensate me for the damage she did. I explained to her that she did not do what we agreed on, she argued me around it and denied denied denied. So I ended the conversation and decided I would have to suck it up and deal with my cotton candy textured hair. Please be careful when considering this salon if you are coloring your hair. read more

Linh, the nail technician and aesthetician is a highly trained professional who provides a variety of services; LCN nails, pedicures, manicures, eyelash extensions. It is always a pleasurable experience when Lihn takes care of my hands and feet. She believes in providing hygienically clean services. My nails and feet have never been so healthy! Debbie is the owner and puts her heart and soul into running a productive business and succeeds due to the comfortable environment. However what I really love about this hair salon is the fact that Debbie also cares about her clients and has superb knowledge and talent for cutting, coloring, and styling all different types of hair which includes all ethnicity. My mom, Andrea DaCosta use to be a hair dresser and had a hard time finding someone who was talented enough to cut and color her hair and do a good job! my mom is pickey and so far Debbie is the only one who can get the perfect blonde color and it looks fab!
