Worst place possible to work. People quit or get let go for the wrong reasons. They make money off of you signing up for blue cross. If a client needs an appointment by yourself, they gave a lie and gave a discount to book with someone else. 3 people even left the salon from being so upset with her career there. One came back only because she had to move and this place was where her old clients were. She is now getting mental health from there. I personally am getting mental health help from the trauma I had received from working there. If you had an issue that you would talk to the owner about, they threw it over their shoulder and do nothing about the many of the issues happening throughout my experience working there. Having my own salon now, clients from there have come to see me, only to be upset with the final service they were given from the salon. Good luck with your service at Epic. Hurrah!! My wonderful hairstylist, Stephanie, has landed here after having found her originally at Tommie Salon :-) I went in on the 11th at 9am (yep, a minute after they opened was my appointment :-) ). No disrespect to Tommie Salon, however, Stephanie is the best person who does my hair since Manuela (who I had found at Tommie Salon and then she left) and so, given that the drive is not so bad (a straight shot down the Whitemud until it "ends"), I am glad glad. As well, EBB is a hair salon with other amenities that do not include: Selling shoes, clothes, scarves, jewelry. Again, all this is fine for those who that kind of "one stop shop", but for me, it was getting a bit too distracting and I would prefer a place that offers more aesthetician services than shopping. It is an easy, clean looking place with lots of light and lots of parking (it's in the Grange Shopping Center) so no worries there. They also have later hours for those of us who can't always make it on the weekend or earlier on a weekday! My cut was 70$ and I did splurge on a colour (I do this RARELY because of the price hit and this is true at most all salons). Total was 235 (and this included tip). Yeah, it is pricey, but again, in my case, I go once a year for a colour and then it's "have box, will colour" ;-) My cut is great and for me, this is what matters most (I have been getting compliments all week!). Well I've been trying to find a good salon with good products since my favorite stylist left to pursue more in Vancouver. I went into the salon to scope out the joint and view their products. My first impression is that I was completely and utterly underwhelmed. No one could care less that I was there and looking at some (rather expensive) products that aren't exclusive to this store. I picked up a box of oribe pomade and was trying to determine how hard it would be wash out. Well I stood there for about 6 minutes humming and hawing and trying to decide wether or not to pick up this $40 jar?! Finally since no one spoke to me or even said hello I put the product ( and the other Jack Black stuff that I was going to pick up) and I left. I won't be spending any money there nor will I let any of my friends or family go there. I really don't mind spending a good chunk of change on my hair and this place will definitely not be on my list. Thanks for among my decision so much easier. read more

so I went to this salon because they do hair and makeup. that was super nice, because i wasn't interested in going to 2 different places for hair and makeup. i was greeted very nicely and didn't have to wait long. staff was very kind and always had a smile on their face. my hair was $50 and makeup was $50. that was one of the best deals i could even find. overall i liked the experience and would definitely go back! read more

The prices are average but the service is top notch and quicker than most other places. Besides hair services they also offer a wide range of esthetics. Was excited to finally get an appointment for a salon in the city as I recently just moved and was looking to have a total overhaul ( colouring and hair cut). Everything went well for the majority of the appointment, but as time went on with my head fully bleached I couldn't help but feel a burning sensation on my scalp. I thought nothing of it as my scalp had burned slightly when I bleached my own hair but that was years ago. Anyways after all was said and done and my hair was washed, cut, dried, dyed and styled, I paid what I owed and went home. However, when I woke up in the morning, I noticed spots on my pillow, which looked like leakage of some sort. Lo and behold I touched my scalp and found multiple hardened areas, AKA scabs. Some of which were quite large. In essence, I had endured chemical burns on my scalp from the bleaching at the salon the day before. read more

I have a regular hair stylist who I absolutely love but she happened to be booked up when I desperately needed to get a trim. A friend of mine had gone to Epic Beauty before and had a decent experience but just felt that they were a bit pricey (which they are) so I figured I'd give it a shot since I just needed a basic clean up. While the front of my hair looked pretty good, the back was cut so weird it really made no sense when trying to style it. (I have a bob hairstyle) I had asked for a slight a-line cut and I got the exact opposite. It started to grow out very uneven and one side was nearly impossible to style with a round brush, flat iron, or curling iron. When I was able to get back into my regular stylist, her immediate reaction was, "Oy, this haircut makes no sense". At least she was able to fix it, but even she was shocked that she had to try and thin out my already super thin hair in order to fix the errors that had been made. It is very unfortunate because the staff was super friendly and very pleasant to deal with, the establishment itself is nice; however, I won't be returning. $65 for a haircut that requires serious fixing is just not worth it. read more
