I got a cut & color done by Paige & I must say, she is fantastic! Very friendly & knows what she's doing. For a junior stylist she is impressive! She cut my hair as I asked & even my bangs turned out amazing (which never has happened). In the past I've had some decent cuts & colors but it's always when I go home & do it myself it's a disaster! Even the day after doing my hair was a breeze! No bangs sticking up & no out of control or badly cut curls! I've had my share of bad haircuts but boy am I glad I took a chance & booked an appointment at Silver Shears. I can't wait to go back! Edit: March 6, 2012 As it turns out my color is a little off. Instead of it being all one color, I have a dark reddish on the top of my head & dark dark brown on the bottom. It wasn't that noticable when it was first done but it sure is noticable now. Will be going to the salon tonight to see if they will fix it. Will update later. Update: March 10, 2012 Got my color fixed no problem & it looks great! Look forward to my next visit! :)

The salon is chic and welcoming with lots of spotless tile, warm wood and the Eufora product makes the place smell amazing. The front staff welcomed me warmly, brought me a badly needed, and very nice cup of coffee, and introduced me to Kaitlyn, my hair's new best friend. She took the time to listen to my rather long, picky, and particular list of hair needs, and made some great suggestions. I immediately felt comfortable and that I could trust her to make sure my hair looked great and would be simple to style. She gives the BEST wash and scalp massage ever, and took care to explain each step of the fairly lengthy cutting process. It was a pleasure chatting with her, and the other customers. They even gave me a slice of birthday cake. As they say in all the best infomercials ... but wait, there's more! Tommie offers downtown style and service, for way less than downtown prices. Although I don't currently go here, I wanted to give a shout-out to Bliss because it's a great…read morebusiness and I love Diane (the owner and one of the stylists)! I went to Bliss for about three years and switched from the salon I was visiting simply because I'd been visiting the stylist there for too long (yes, it's possible) and wanted a drastic change. I saw Diane's hair and commented on it before realizing that she was a hair stylist herself - it was incredibly funky and edgy and she totally pulled it off. I had never had short hair and Diane's haircut was quite short and unlike any style I had ever seen. When I visited her for the first time, we sat down and talked about what I was looking to do and my only criteria was that it had to be funky and drastically different than my current style so what I ended up with was a short fo-hawk with florescent yellow and blue highlights. On the surface it may sound extreme and not flattering at all but I absolutely adored it and judging by the number of compliments I received, I know others thought it looked great too. Since those crazy florescent days, I've mellowed out quite a bit and now have very long hair. Diane has always gone out of her way to make sure that whatever style I choose - crazy or not - I absolutely love it. Everyone working there gives fantastic customer service and the products they sell have always kept my hair feeling and looking healthy. Because I'm now much more thrifty on how much I spend on hair cuts, I visit salons much less often than I used to. Also, St. Albert is quite out of the way for me. However, if I ever want to go "out there" again with a look, Bliss will be the first place I go. To clarify: all the stylists do an excellent job of catering to whatever look you're going for. They do quite an extensive consultation with you before your appointment, especially if it's your first time visiting.

However, our communication didn't result in what I hoped for and I was quite sad. Now the "selling point" for me - a senior level stylist stepped in, listened to my concerns, gave some pointers to the first stylist, and totally turned the whole experience around. In essence I ended up with two complete haircuts without ever being made to feel like an idiot, and left quite happy. This is the first time in my entire (long) life that I've experienced a salon which truly seemed to CARE that I was totally satisfied before I left and I am very grateful for that.

Well I was wrong and I'm happy I was. Needless to say Christina Domenelli Salon is an great salon! When I first walked in I kid you not, I felt under dressed as the salon is modern and feels high class. How I came to the salon...well...my dad has been going here for a while said I had to try it out and lets be real...if your dad said hey go to my salon what do you picture. Some old barber shop in some sketchy part of Edmonton where some 80year old man named Joe has the shakes and sits you down with a buzzer. Um no thanks. Long story short I got a gift card from him for this salon and was like hell why not. Now Christina Domenelli, not the salon the actual person. Yes she's an actual person who owns the salon and works there too. CRAZY I know. She is just WOW! She's this hot little mama who is so down to earth, realistic and just great! I'm planning on getting my hair and makeup done at this salon for my wedding next year and she goes WAY beyond the limits. I feel bad that the last reviewer didn't have a good experience, but I do understand that this isn't a salon for everyone. I've had a couple colourings and cuts that weren't exactly what I had in mind but they will work with you to get you what you want. My only complaint and biggest issue is the cost, it is expensive.
