If I can I can give even 0, First I called and asked for prices, but didn't get any TJ said he need to see, He said he is stylist with 20 years experience and I thought it would be my lucky day, finally I will find good hairdresser. I want to do haircut and root colouring. I show the picture what kind of haircut I want and also explained my problems with previous haircut it was not properly layered on my one side and I always has a second line On my right side. But TJ said that he understand what I am talking about and he said that I will not have that problem at this time. After he did haircut and highlights and styling my hair looks great, but in the back not exactly what I show him, but I think it's ok. But after I washed my hair and didn't do styling my haircut looks awful, I have the same problem (second shorter line on my right side and also in the back it was not looks good as well. I decided to go back and ask for refund, because I am not satisfied with that. When I came and tried to explain TJ getting very angry and rude. He said I did very good hair cut to you and he didn't want to listen to me and he said he will not refund me money and he force me to leave and started call security. i was very disappointed and he humiliating me in front of coworker and clients, he even didn't want to talk to me. I don't think I deserve that Hairdresser treat me with no respect. I paid for his service and I think I deserve to show him and explain if I don't satisfied what he did. When I asked him to show me professional license and certificate he also refused. I asked what is his real name and he said to me Prince Charles. I' be got most unprofessional service and very rude hairdresser who's got the money and doesn't care about anything after. He kick me out from salon and two security men help him. He said one of them was his friend. I didn't make any big scandal I just came to talk. I am going to file consumer complain and complain at BBB, because nobody deserve be treated like that. You and your business depend on clients and make yours customers happy is your first priority, Prince Charles!!!!! I also mentioned that most of his clients are men's and I think he was not able to do stylish haircut for women because he is a barber, not stylist. Sorr, but I've got that impression. My hair was just growing all over the place. After my chemo treatments last year, I had to go to a regular barber just to fix whatever little hair I've grown back early this year. Then COVID hits. Then paranoias about how every commercial company is handling it - restaurants, hair salons, groceries, etc. The back of my hair has grown into a mullet . I couldn't stand it so I took a chance with someone I'm clueless about. Voila! I have a hair which he followed the hairline and hair growth. He patiently shampooed and conditioned then started the cut. As gorgeous as the front is, the back is even more gorgeous 60's pixie type - front and back. He made sure to show me the texture he made at the back that I thought took him ages only for me to realize, gorgeous! I never had this cut and didn't think of it at all. Now I love it And probably for safety's sake we didn't talk much even if we were both wearing our masks. I did chat him as well and super nice stylist. I went to have a cut + colour. My hair transformed to a whole new look. I had a very ugly forward bob and my hair colour was also bad - natural black, dyed brown and bleached ends. TJ and Jenna were amazing. They did a really excellent job. My hair was cut layered, it looks really full as to the usual limp and flat. They toned my hair and applied the lightest foil possible to make it really light like ashy-blonde. I love it! I never met very professional stylists in the past. Whenever i go to a salon, i always feel awkward and being "judged". With the guys at Pravda, i felt welcome and confident. They are very friendly and accommodating. From the moment you enter, you are genuinely greeted and until you leave, it will be a pleasant visit. They will listen to what you want to do and also provide suggestions if needed. TJ and Jenna alternately took care of my hair and it was never an issue because they are both skilled and really good. The location is also a plus as it is downtown but the prices for the services are very affordable and reasonable!!! Go check it out!!! Note: they get very busy on saturdays. This place opened up 3 mths ago and I've walked by several times. I hate having my hair cut by unknown people as it's usually a disaster. Finally after cutting my own hair for 6mths, I gave up and stopped in & got in the next day at lunch. First off, he actually made sense of my incoherence as I believe I come across as "just make it look good" type of monster. Then he took over and when he cut, he took his time, was very accurate about his work, checked it and explained why he cut what he did etc...but at the same time he didn't talk my ear off. It was quiet, relaxed and I was out and back at work within the hour :) Surprise! Yes, the cut tured out great, he even took the time to blow dry and style it. Was not worth it, I paid for my cut but I didn't get even close to what I was asking for and I'm lucky I know what I'm doing because I was able to fix it myself but if I didn't I would have had to pay for someone else to fix it. I won't be going back here. read more

5 stars for best brow wax ever! I stopped in in my way home from work. I wasn't even sure if they did waxing. They told me that they could get me in within 10 minutes and they did. Jenna did my brow wax and she was amazing. She really took her time with me and asked questions to make sure she understood what I wanted. I think this is the least amount of pain I ever experienced with waxing! And she delivered what I wanted! I had very little redness and no reaction to the wax. To top it off, it cost less than $15! The salon itself was very warm and inviting with a touch of chicness. I will be back :) read more

they have no idea how to bleach hair and when i told them its messed up they gave me sass and told me i was wrong. ive had my hair bleached at many salons and this was the worst one in my whole life. my scalp is burnt and in pain, they used too strong of bleach for my already blonde hair, and the girl cut it so uneven that it looks like a child did it. she left the bleach in for hours when it shouldve been left in for 30-45min. and didnt even make it the colour i wanted, my hair is yellow rn, i didnt ask to have piss coloured hair. dont get layering or bleaching done here, pls go literally anywhere else. salon blunt is much better but expensive. but at least your hair wont be crispy and chopped up like a 1st graders failed art project read more

After reading all the other great reviews on this place, I decided to give it a try. Walked in and asked for a walk-in cut, and was taken care of right away. I asked for TJ as I had read so many other great reviews on him. He was very meticulous and a great conversationalist. I have never had such a great cut before. Right away he recognised my hair shows every single possible mistake and he took the time to make sure each hair was at the right length and that I was completely satisfied with with cut. Huge shout out to TJ at Pravda Hair! Nestled in the shopping plaza of 109 St and Jasper Ave, Pravda hair is still rather new (about a year and a bit old), but right on point. I called TJ to see if he had any openings on a Wednesday around noon (during my lunch hour). Sure enough, he did. (yay me). A quick 5 minute walk from my work place, and I was there (Granted I was a bit early). The salon is beautiful. Clean lines, very simple but quite elegant. I absolutely love it decor and accent pieces. As I write this, I'm kicking myself for not taking pictures! TJ and I discussed what to do with my hair. It's quite long, and the ends were terrible. I wanted something fresh and he definitely made it happen. He washed my hair, and made sure the water was just the right temperature. There's something about having someone else wash your hair. Looooove it! We took a few inches off my hair, just to revitalize it and make it look a lot healthier, and he also thinned it out a bit too so it wasn't as heavy. I have thick, naturally curly hair and I prefer to wear it down and straightened so this was definitely a bonus. After my cut, he blew dried my hair (which is a task in itself) and made me look work-ready to finish off the afternoon. Meticulous, and always checking, my hair is perfect. He was friendly, chatty, and made the whole experience great. I would definitely recommend him and will be back! Also, I should mention, the price point is definitely favorable.
