In order to accomplish this drastic change, I needed a master stylist and hair color expert. Katerina worked diligently on my hair and the result was a beautiful color that I will enable me to blend seamlessly with my natural color and the grey that is growing in. horrible salon. online it said $46 for a trim hair wash etc, I didn't get a hair wash I only got a trim and my hair curled for $84 F****** dollars. just because the stylist was a "master stylist" worst place ever. never coming here again. curls looks so bad too, butchered my hair. Nice looking salon friendly staff. My experience there not so good. I requested a master stylist, as I have had some nightmare cuts in the past and did not want a to have a repeat experience. They recommended Jennifer to me as she had 24 years experience. I am very meticulous about my hair and always blow dry in sections. It was then that I noticed chunks of hair missing and the uneveness in the cut. I was very upset and contacted Kick Salon stylist - Cindy to see if she could correct. She worked some magic to try to fix and hide the mistakes of the previous stylist without cutting my hair short. I will not be returning to Fresh and co. That was an expensive cut!!! Learned my lesson. The owner should spend more time watching over his staff. Sam had cut my hair in the past many years ago and is a master at his craft, his staff have a lot to live up to and need far more training! read more

I was visiting family in Edmonton and wanted to get a trim. I'm really upset with the outcome of my hair :/ I gave my stylist reference photos of how I wanted my hair to look like but to keep a good amount of length since my hair takes long to grow out. I asked for layers, that was face framing, and bangs. Mind you I have highlights and do a hair mask 1 a week. The day before I had my appointment I washed my hair and kept it in braids. The whole time my style was telling me my hair is so bad and dry, etc. she BUTCHERED my hair, cut off most of the length and almost all of my highlights when I told her not to cut a lot of my hair, and thinned it when I didn't ask for it. It's so uneven and I literally want to cry every time I see my hair because I can't style it anymore. She didn't even cut bangs on me she did whipys so it looks like baby hairs. The staff are great - the expectation of my hair vs. what I actually got was disappointing. I went in requesting a fade from dark roots to dark grey. I provided a reference image, we agreed on a dark grey dye, I took off my glasses and a couple hours later my head was entirely black/brown. I asked if it was going to fade into the colour I wanted - the stylist said "Your roots will." By this time I'd been at the salon for 3 hours and it was closing time. I paid over $200 and went home disappointed. I woke up the next day, hopped in the shower and prayed my hair would be lighter when I got out. It wasn't. Honestly, I didn't want to leave my house, let alone go to work. I sent an email to Fresh & Co. that day and received a call from my stylist the next day. She said she was sorry I didn't like my colour but she thought we agreed on a dark grey. I explained that there was no grey in my hair. She then said I could come in for another toner free of charge. I stated that a toner would not lighten the hair and she said if I wanted to do that I'd have to book a balayage but that it wouldn't be free of charge (another $200). Defeated I said I'd think about it and hung up the phone. Since that phone call I took my hair into my own hands. I removed the colour from most of the length, lightened it, then dyed it the grey I originally wanted. This cost me another $60 and a whole weekend of hair damage. Since I ended up undoing everything done at the salon I emailed again asking for a full refund. I haven't received a response (not surprised at this point). I'm really disappointed that the stylist didn't offer to have me come back in so she could provide me with what I originally wanted. I held off on writing this review hoping Fresh & Co. would right their wrong, but I haven't received another phone call or email response. I gave them a two star rating because I enjoyed my time with the staff. Since this robbery though, I won't be returning. I'm more disappointed than anything. read more

Went to get my hair dyed in October here. I chose a new stylist that was just finishing her apprentice so I got a 50% off discount. I was happy with the actual dye job and the location was good (just off Ellerslie), but if I had paid full price I'd definitely feel a bit robbed as it would have cost $250+ plus tip just for one colour all over. I do have a lot of hair and they did have to use 3 tubes of dye, but still - I guess this is why I never get my hair done. I really just want to give 3.5 stars for the price. read more

I am new to Edmonton and have been a blonde for 12 years. I take pride and good care of my hair. I was recommended to try this place and the people were nice enough. I was sitting in the chair I noticed the slyest was not using much product and putting big spaces in between each foil. After I spent 250$ to have a full head of foils plus a toner, when I got home I seen she missed most of the back of my head. The next morning I phoned to report and come to a resolution, the receptionist told my over the phone that my growth was too thick to properly cover with foils, and my stylist did do foils to my whole head and there probably wasn't much they could do for me. After the receptionist Spoke to the manager and stylist they booked a consultation to view my hair. After sitting in the chair for 30 seconds the stylist clearly seen my hair was mess up and offered to fix it for full price, and said that she was advised by her manager to not correct my hair with out charging me. So if you have blonde hair I recommend NOT TO GO HERE!!!!! They do not hold their stylist accountable to their mistakes. Below are five photos are after my hair was done!! read more

You know those salons where you walk in and immeditely feel uncomfortable and awkward...this ISN'T one of them! Fresh & Co is a very modern salon, with very friendly staff and a laid back atmosphere. Plus I phoned on a Saturday and they got me in the same day! I got my hair cut by Cayley, she listened to exactly what I wanted and gave me a style that will keep its shape while I grow my hair out. About 3 years ago I moved to the SW side of town and was looking for a new hair salon to go. I needed to find someone to help me repair my damaged hair and help me grow it. It doesn't grow fast to begin with and the constant blow drying, flatiron use and washing of my hair everyday caused the ends of my hair to break off constantly. My hair had been the same length for years because of this. I wandered into Fresh & Co. because not only was it the closest but it looked the most professional. I told the wonderfully friendly receptionist about my situation and she recommended a consultation with Christie. The rest is history! Christie has been working on my hair ever since using treatments and different Kérastase products to keep my ends from breaking. Better hair dying methods also helped big time with growing my hair out longer. I'm really glad I found this place and I refuse to go anywhere else. All the ladies in there are friendly, professional and skilled. Even my stubborn boyfriend, who despises getting his hair cut and used to fight me about it, has found someone there he loves and no longer makes a fuss about it. In fact he now eagerly asks me when his next appointment is. My hair is now much longer, smoother, shinier and healthier over all. I definitely recommend! read more

I have been going to this salon since 2007. Unfortunately, that is going to change moving forward. My daughter who is graduating this Friday was booked see Daniella out of Windermere. I spoke extensively with the receptionist Nicole when I booked this appointment a week ago. Today I got a call from them telling me my daughter's appointment has been CANCELLED because the stylist needs to get her second vaccine. When I called they described the situation as an "emergency medical appointment." This is by no means an emergency appointment. I asked if Dani could see my daughter at another time prior to her graduation since she cancelled the appointment last minute...no such luck. So after giving me 48 hours cancellation notice they feel they are off the hook and justified with their actions. So here we are with NO appointment for a milestone event. On another note, the salon is very overpriced They are the ONLY place that requires a consultation and a written agreement prior to any service because they know they have had issues with customers being upset at the end of a service due to being overpriced. The stylist I saw prior to Daniella LEFT the salon because she wasn't happy there. The receptionist Joanna at the Mullen location has made be feel awful at times with her facial expressions when I ask about pricing So please, think twice before booking an appointment at Fresh and CO. We all make mistakes and aren't perfect...but to break a young girl's heart so you can go get a second vaccine is cruel and uncalled for. The owner / manager should have asked the stylist to reschedule HER vaccine as we all know that is possible. They just lost out on 3 customers. I will never go back! read more

My first (and last) appointment. On the phone, I specifically asked for an extended appointment knowing that it takes double the time for my "mane", explained why. By the date, the stylist to work with me has been swapped for another, to my surprise. First, they were out of foils long enough for my hair.O-ops! Than,I could clearly see the guy being behind the schedule as the next client arrived.I felt rushed...I mean: rushed out. AND NONE OF IT WOULD HAVE MATTERED IF I LIKED THE OUTCOME.But it stunk.The foils bled, yet colour was too far from hair line, looked aged right away. The most pailful of all, of coarse, was my husband's reaction.And I agreed: I could have done better job at home with a boxed high-lite kit. I decided to change my hairstyle (long and straight and always in a ponytail). I wanted an actual hairstyle that I easily do each morning. I went into Fresh & Co Salon and was happily surprised that my hairdresser Jessica sat down with me for 10 minutes and asked me personal questions about my hair, what I thought about it, what I didn't like and what she could do to make my experience the best it could be. I told her that I wanted a style, I wanted a warm brunette colour and I would love to know how to style my own hair once I left. Not only did I leave with the biggest style on my face, I now know how to style my hair and what tools and product I need to use to get the same results. Jessica was absolutely wonderful and answered any questions in detail I had. The staff was extremely friendly and the atmosphere was beautiful and very trendy. Beautiful salon when you walk in and the front staff is usually very pleasant. However, the owner was unprofessional as he looked through my hair he said that it was very awful, and asked where I got it done, and what products they used . I mentioned that I didn't want to say where but they used bumble and bumble, he started discrediting the work of mousy browns hair salon, and started to thrash their business and hair stylists, through out the conversation of my hair cut. I first went to Fresh & Co a little over a year ago. I was looking for a new hair dresser and to fix the botch job previously done to my hair. KAYLA TO THE RESCUE! Not only did she fix my hair, but with her sweetness, cuteness and fun loving demeanor she won me over and I knew I found my new hair dresser. The salon is bright and cozy and warm and all the girls always look amazing and well put together. The salon is clean and modern. That being said, I absolutely hated my experience here. I've never been here previously except to buy hair products once and the salon looked nice. My hair was down past my waist, So I had been trimming the ends myself and haven't had an actual haircut in about 5 years. I called in to book the appointment, they booked me in. I asked for just 2 inches trimmed off and some layers. After the cut, I couldn't see what she was doing, my hair was still all behind my shoulders. She says "I have to go get someone to check my work, I'm just an apprentice." Which the salon never told me or asked if that was okay when I booked the appointment. I would definitely have said no and would happily have paid $100 for someone more experienced. Nobody even came to check anyways. I moved my hair, and noticed how short it was. It was slightly past my armpit. She had cut off at least 6 inches which is probably an understatement. The girl argued that she only cut off 2.5 inches. That I had a lot of breakage on the underside of my hair probably from having it up in a pony tail so she had to cut that all off. So you have an idea, I have a tattoo on my side/ribs the size of my regular adult hand that my hair was about 2 inches past the bottom of it. Post haircut, it was about 2 cm past the top. I don't mean to sound rude but check a ruler, 2 inches is not a lot. I'm sure I was visibly upset about it, so the hairstylist didn't even give me a mirror to show me the back, didn't even say anything, just grabbed my coat and rushed me out of there. Aside from that, it's actually the worst haircut I've ever had. It's like a long bob, slighter longer in the front than back. The difference in layers was probably only 1 cm. If I had thin hair, it probably wouldn't matter. I have thick hair and a lot of it. I've compared ponytails with friends and mine is literally at least 3-4 times thicker. No exaggeration. So with how thick my hair is, it looks ridiculous with it all being roughly the same length. I sure as hell wasn't going to go back and have them cut more off though. Thank you for reminding me why I haven't gone to a hair salon in 5+ years. read more

About a year ago I (in dazed, busy, had been box dying and cutting my own hair shambles- I'm a mom to two little girls born ten months apart) approached Fresh and Co. Salons to "fix me". Please do not get me wrong, until my children were born I was an "every five weeks touch up, same stylist for 7 years" kind of girl. And so it was with bruised psyche and bad hair that I walked into Fresh and Co. and, in particular, Jessica's chair and hands for the first time. Not only did she bring me up to date (who knew styles, techniques and products could evolve so much in three years LOL) but also restored my "sense of self". She spoke my (hair request) language and better yet, understood my hair. She knew I needed a style I didn't have to "work" to style. She saw my cow licks and kinks, thick spots and thin. Very simply she cut a modern style for MY hair. Any woman with a head knows what I mean and how hard a stylist like this is to find. I would not recommend this salon as they are not upfront with their pricing. I took my 11 year old daughter there for a few foils and asked that they only do a few, as I didn't want to spend too much. The charge for her cut and colour was $250, despite the fact that their pricing list indicates that foils start at $105. I did speak with the owner and he was not willing to reduce the price of the colour, indicating that his prices were in line with other south side salons. read more

This is a great salon chain all over the SW area of Edmonton. Price is decent, and carry a great line of Kerastase hair product lines. I always go for conditioning treatments which is so great for damaged hair. They use great dyes too, my ombres and balayge always turns out really nice. Ask for Joanna at this location!
