I came out here a couple days ago for a press conference and was once again impressed by the experience. The decor is clean and well-maintained, and there were a horde of servers on-hand after the event to dole out hors d'oeurves, including bruschetta, egg rolls, skewers with beef, cheese and peppers (so good) and more. There were not very many houses around the course either. Since that time I played the Academy 9-hole course a number of times. I liked the Academy because it was very challenging for a short course. If you miss the fairway, there was a very high chance that you would lose your ball in the rough and/or fescue. The fescue is baaaaad. Don't even bother trying to hit out of it. I finally decided to try out the 18-hole course after years of procrastinating. I played on a Sunday afternoon at 3:01 pm (twilight starts at 3 pm, and super twilight at 5:30 pm). For $65 you get a cart for your 18 holes. I highly recommend getting a cart. There are a lot of hills and you won't enjoy your round if you had to carry your bag. Both the 9- and 18-hole courses are very well maintained. There are some tough spots (we played after it rained) and the bunkers can be brutal. We took free drops instead of playing out of the bunkers, especially after rain. Also a couple of the holes had very strange layouts. There were two greens that were absolutely hidden and nearly impossible to aim for unless you had played it before. Thankfully all the carts are fitted with GPS devices so you know how far you are from the green. The staff and marshalls were all very polite and kind. We had a slow group but the marshall tried her best to keep everyone moving. Their service really stood out to me. I would definitely play Braeben again. For $65 and the convenience of the course's location, I think it's a great value. You might have a tough time if you're a beginner because of the fescue and tight fairways, but there are some easy par 3s and straight 4s to keep you going.

Even just coming here for a photo session is worth it in my opinion (and more affordable). The neighbourhood isn't as nice as the manor, it's stuck beside an apartment building which is kind of interesting but can easily be avoided in your outdoor pictures.
