I recently had the pleasure of attending the wedding of the daughter of dear friends, with the reception being held at Parkview Manor. It was my first time being here and I was impressed with the venue and the service. The name, Parkview Manor, suggests something exotic or traditional, maybe like an old mansion. Instead, it was a rather plain looking grey building with a large parking lot, in the middle of an industrial area. It was clean and in good repair but really had no character to it. Stepping inside, however, told a different story altogether. The reception/bar area was a bit small and cramped, making it a little hard for all the guests to move around comfortably. The passed hors d'oeuvres were plentiful, with a decent variety but tasted a bit ordinary. The main banquet room, with the head table, dining tables, and dance floor, was very spacious and beautifully decorated, with intimate lighting. Our meal was very good, maybe even excellent! We started with soup and salad, both served tableside. The main course had a properly cooked piece of salmon, a very tender steak, potatoes, and veggies. Dessert was chocolate mousse tart and creme brulee, served alternately. Other than the dessert being a tad sweet for my taste, the food quality was good. Kudos to our server, who was very friendly, engaging, and efficient! Having worked at one of the top banquet facilities in the GTA for ten years, the food and service here was top notch! I was teetering into 3-star territory because of how unimpressed I was with the entree. But then I thought about everything else, the antipasto, the dessert, the food stations, the service, and the insider info from my friend about how great the coordinator is. So I'm thinking...meh, why bring down a decent venue over some overcooked steak? Parkview Manor, like every other banquet hall, has a fairly boring exterior, but the inside is clean and well-presented with your typical banquet hall decor and chandeliers. TONS of parking, which is an advantage of being in a bland commercial area. The building is split into two areas so it's highly possible there are multiple events happening at the same time. Food, of course, is the number 1 priority as a wedding guest. As stated up front, the entree was bad. Really bad. The filet mignon was tough like leftover meat from boiled stew. The chicken, already expected to be underwhelming at a banquet hall, was especially bland. I suppose that's the risk of a 2-meat plate. But everything else made up for it, I think. The antipasto was plentiful and delicious, especially the smoked salmon and the giant parmesan cheese wheel. The dessert was a wonderful creme brulee. The oysters at the oyster bar were fresh and shucked before your eyes. Even the sweets table had some tasty cakes. Servers were quick and unnoticeable, which is a mark of a good banquet hall server. You don't want plates clanging against each other during a speech. The bottom line is I had a wonderful time here as a guest; food, service, and coordination being a huge part of that. So I can live with a little chewy beef. If you are planning a wedding at a banquet hall, I wouldn't pass on this. I hear the guy that coordinates the venue is fantastic. (50/100) - 2018 read more

I've come here twice in the past few years for dinner (work related events). The food has always been good. I love the salad and main course.. chicken is cooked perfectly. So moist and tender. The dessert crepe would be better if it was thicker, it's too thin, like paper thin! Interior is your standard venue, simple and pretty. Good service from staff. read more

First off a big thank you to Chris and his staff at Parkview Manor. After another hall left us stranded 10 days before our wedding, Parkview Manor was there to save the day. The hall itself is beautiful and well kept. Chris made sure all our requests were met and met beyond our expectations. All of our guests loved Parkview Manor and continue to tell us how amazing and beautiful our wedding was. There aren't enough words to express how pleased we were that our wedding was at Parkview Manor. Have visited this place twice now, once for a corporate event and the second time for a wedding. Both times I was mostly on the impressed side by the food quality and service. Service is normally fast and professional even with a full 300/400 people events. In both events, an antipasto bar was present, which consists of few different stations, Italian cuts, seafood, cheese, live cooking station, etc... Pasta & Salads as apps, mains are a hit and miss..Once i've had the beef brisket and seafood assortment which was quite delicious, and another time it was a tenderloin steak which was absolutely tasty, and a grilled chicken breast which tasted very flat. I've been here for a couple work events and was surprised each time at how the inside of the banquet hall seems much smaller than it appears from the exterior. I kept thinking that perhaps we were in a space that was partitioned off, but it wasn't to be the case. Hor d'oeuvres on both occasions were pretty average and taste like they are native to a land of cardboard and ice. The steak was surprisingly good, our table finished that and had a lot of leftover chicken. All in all a pretty average venue. Parking can be a little confusing as it is to the rear of some other building - tell your Uber driver ahead of time so he doesn't get lost like ours did! read more

Where do I even begin with Parkview Manor? We just had our wedding at Parkview last week; and we truly could not have had such an incredible day if if had not been for their support, guidance and assistance! We went to a few other locations prior to choosing Parkview, but I knew the moment I sat down with John that this was the perfect fit for our wedding! Not only did John spend almost a full hour with me just for the consultation - side note, no other hall did this. We felt rushed around at other locations and basically told here are your options, let us know... But not with Parkview. John always gave us practical and logical advice, and told us of all the scenarios we should consider before we made any decisions. Even when I called a few times with questions and concerns, John took the time to speak to me and never tried to hurry me off the phone. Even Haroula took the time to speak to me in great detail and give advice when it came to my vision with the décor. Her expertise really was so helpful! As an event space, they went above and beyond to make our day just that much more special! Adding little details here and there to make our décor pop even more. The use of their candle wall was such a bonus to us! Thank you for that and so much more! Their linens were beautiful - I saved so much by using what they already were offering us! Including having chiavari chairs! Future brides - this itself was one of the biggest bonus! The food was incredible! We had the filet mignon and shrimp combo for our main, and the anti pasto and sweet table went above and beyond my expectations! Guests even came up to me and told me this is the best "hall food" they have ever experienced at a wedding! As a bride I was attended to the entire evening. Every need I had and any help that I sought after was met timely and in a way that made me feel special and looked after. At the end of the night, my mother due to her arthritis could not help take me out of my dress, one of the lovely ladies of Parkview helped me right away! She even packed away extra food for myself and my husband to take with us to the hotel since she saw we didn't really get a chance to eat. I can't even begin to imagine my day any different than how it played out. And I have John, Haroula, and the entire staff of Parkview Manor to thank for that! read more

I do not recommend because the service was horrible and unorganized. I truly loved the desert however, the meal was not great with the chicken being way too dry and no seasoning available. read more
