This is for the driving range. Over the summer, I got into golf and this was my go to place for the driving range. The driving range is a bit of a walk from the office where you need to purchase your balls, but the views are great! It'll remind you of the Microsoft desktop picture. I first played at Braeben when it was still called Britannia Hills. Back then, you could still smell the garbage and the adjacent land was still a landfill. There were not very many houses around the course either. Since that time I played the Academy 9-hole course a number of times. I liked the Academy because it was very challenging for a short course. If you miss the fairway, there was a very high chance that you would lose your ball in the rough and/or fescue. The fescue is baaaaad. Don't even bother trying to hit out of it. I finally decided to try out the 18-hole course after years of procrastinating. I played on a Sunday afternoon at 3:01 pm (twilight starts at 3 pm, and super twilight at 5:30 pm). For $65 you get a cart for your 18 holes. I highly recommend getting a cart. There are a lot of hills and you won't enjoy your round if you had to carry your bag. Both the 9- and 18-hole courses are very well maintained. There are some tough spots (we played after it rained) and the bunkers can be brutal. We took free drops instead of playing out of the bunkers, especially after rain. Also a couple of the holes had very strange layouts. There were two greens that were absolutely hidden and nearly impossible to aim for unless you had played it before. Thankfully all the carts are fitted with GPS devices so you know how far you are from the green. The staff and marshalls were all very polite and kind. We had a slow group but the marshall tried her best to keep everyone moving. Their service really stood out to me. I would definitely play Braeben again. For $65 and the convenience of the course's location, I think it's a great value. You might have a tough time if you're a beginner because of the fescue and tight fairways, but there are some easy par 3s and straight 4s to keep you going. read more

Braeben Golf Course is my home golf course. I have played here at the academy (the 9 hole), regularly for the past 2 golf seasons. For a public course, it is well kept and inexpensive. Every season, they have a Ladies Night which includes dinner, a round of 9 holes and prizes for under $35. It is a great way to connect with other fellow golfers. Their food is quite good and service is great. I definitely recommend this course if you live in the Mississauga area or would like to try a new course out in the west end. read more

This review is for the 9-hole par 3 Academy course. I've been coming to Brae Ben to play the 9-hole par 3 Academy course for a few years now. It's a very nice, walkable highland course. I've been playing golf casually for about 6 years and it caters well to my skill level. Since it's all par 3's I only bring my irons and a putter. I usually play after work on Mondays and the course is pretty much always wide open. You won't feel pressured to play faster or get bogged down by slower players usually. It's a great course for the beginer / intermediate amateur golfer. It usually takes the 3 or 4 of us about 90 minutes to play. read more

Love the 9 hole Academy Course. Just started playing again after 8 years of absence, have completed 5 rounds and it remains challenging enough. Driver required on 2 or 3 of the holes but there are a few under 120 yards where you can try for that par. Hole 9 is 190-200 yards depending on flag location. There are 2 bunkers on holes 8 & 9 but no water. Service is always professional and the rental clubs are Nike's. Average about +8 or so here but you can usually play 2 or 3 balls in the evenings after 6 pm to really get into improving your game. A round is 20$ weekdays and 25$ weekends. read more

Be careful when planning an event at the Braeben Golf Club... We had a successful event yet one day post event, we received an email stating we would be charged an extra 8 people. No one discussed extra charges during the event. The event coordinator present was not present. We never met the chef. We only had 2 servers. Also, during the event, there was a family of 6 roaming around and viewing the venue which I thought was quite intrusive to the party. After countless emails and a phone call to the manager, 4 days later, we received an email stating no charges would be made. They had to clarify with the chef and speak with the staff again to confirm. Firstly, the event coordinator should definitely confirm first before charging extra to anybody. Secondly, if ever they are to charge anyone extra, it should be discussed during the event. If it was someone planning a party for the first time or more of an introvert, they may have just paid the fee and the facility would have gotten away with it. This is unacceptable and completely unprofessional. I would not recommend this venue.. read more

This course is fascinating; surrounding you is a gorgeous cityscape, lots of fun terrain which makes each hole a unique puzzle but also hard to lose your golfball while you golf there for the first time. well priced, and you get a cool machine in your golf cart which tells you your distance between yardage markers and greens. Ignore the lack of trees because of the poor shallow soil (former landfill site) my experience was fantastic! no course looks, plays, or feels alike. read more

Played the 18 hole course in October. The only positive thing I can say about the experience is that due to absence of trees, there are no Fall season leaves covering the course, thus usually making it difficult to track your ball in the open. This did not make up for the cold vibe from the staff, the ridiculous transitions from green to the next tee, and the fact that the entire course seems to be one giant wind tunnel, with no trees to break up the air. I can't imagine playing this course in the hot summer, with zero relief from the sun. A cart is almost mandatory, probably just for the shade coverage. Walking was killer, with all of the hills. Course was challenging overall. Though it seems open, you can pretty much forget about your ball if it goes off to the side, with the rough weeds and longer grass waiting to swallow it up. Only one water hole. Fairway conditions were decent, but the greens were patchy. Also, too many blind tee shots in my opinion. Out of the four of us, we all agreed to never play the course again. Luckily we paid a discounted rate through Golf Now, but the usual weekend mid season rate at $75 seems quite high, when you just need to drive an extra 20 minutes for a much nicer course at a lower cost. Even though I shot a decent score, there were too many factors that made the round frustrating. read more

I don't personally like golf but I go here if I want to practice some golf or my friends take me golfing. Course is not challenging but sometimes there are too many people roaming around. Comparing this to other golf courses I've been to, it is well maintained but it is not a beautiful scenery. read more

This course is so over - rated .. It is over priced and even though some people pay the money .. It's not worth it . I have played better courses for fractions of the cost .. And jeez I played at Delhi Golf Club in India and I paid almost 20 dollars less .. A regular green fee would cost at Brae Ben .. A course where Tiger Woods played and European tour and PGA have played events at .. I don't see any superstars play at Brae Ben!! Horrible .. This is city owned you would think they make enough money through our taxes .. And make the prices a little more affordable to all . The layout isn't really anything special either .. I have seen better .. Maybe ill play again if they cut the price .. Just maybe .. Otherwise forget it !! read more

Most of the courses I've been to have control of tee time to ensure reasonable space between groups. This course has none. The staff claimed it's usually 10min, but sometime less than that. Today we had a group of four in front of us, who likely started less than 10min before us. When the two of us started, one guy was allowed to start one shot after us. This guy is extremely rude and constantly right after us. We would like to give the group before us some space, so waited sometimes for them to finish A hole. The guy behind us started to hit through us. We turned back and had a fight with him. He then passed both groups, which is ok if he talked to us and asked for permission. When we complained to the staff, the response is yeah, you can let people pass. If squeezing people into the course is the only way to maximize profit, I hope this business strategy is sustainable. read more

We've been to the golf restaurant a couple times now and have always been disappointed in the food quality and offerings. Definitely not worth the price for the amount of food that is provided. I guess you are only paying for the view as the food is not good at all. would not recommend this place to anyone. read more
