If you went to high school in Mississauga, you remember this place as the graduation place. I recently attended a wedding hosted at this convention centre, bringing lots of memories back from high school. From the background, I saw the contract, to being a guest. First off, the convention centre has some obscene contract terms, so be careful. The convention center has a large parking, it has spaces that are "unofficially" designated as outdoor smoking areas right near the entrance that are not enforced by staff (not great when you're a non-smoker). The foyer is used as a space transitional area for space flips, often the case with convention centres that use the space for ceremony and reception. The washrooms are available but discretely hidden, so can be hard to find. I think I visited it three times, was disappointed the floors were wet, especially when you're wearing a gown that trails or a gown with a train, because you're essentially picking up whatever water (or pee or fluids on the floor). Given the elegance of the interior, it would have been nice to have a designated washroom attendant like the high level hotels (not asking you to have someone hand out toilet paper like some 5 star hotels in Asia, but dry floor! Please!). I somewhat also expected a light sitting area to retouch make up for guest, instead the washroom counters were wet and gave me a echoing experience of a movie theatre washroom with teenagers struggling to fix eyeliners in wet counters with paper towel. The hangers in the stalls were nice. The venue had plenty of staff the donned white gloves that presented a level of elegance, I did see thongs fall and swiftly discarded with the same gloved hand as the person continued handling food ware that was on the table. Or staff moving decor from the reception with the same gloved hand then setting up food ware---/so there was a lack of hand washing and the gloves were really really really for show. At the table charger plates were worn, wine stains from previous guest not cleaned off chairs. But with dim light, it's pretty hard to see all these details- so just make sure light is dim at your event. :/ Despite these missteps, the venue was nice, it looked nice. Maybe I'm just the only person observing these little details. Side note, I parked my butt near the bar in the foyer- only one appetizer was served to me.?! I didn't think I was in a corner. read more

Came for cousin's wedding. The place is beautiful, accessible, and easy parking. The event manager was responsive. There was some paint splatters on the dance floor and they cleaned it up before the wedding started. Someone had thrown up in the men's room sink during the party and they attended to it quickly. The wedding was an open bar so I can blame them for the behavior of a guest . There were two weddings that night and the other wedding spilled into our bathroom bays. The bathrooms are switched on that side so many of the ladies from there ended up in our men's room. Again... not the event hall's fault but thought it was funny. The only gripe that I have was that the main course was overcooked. My guess is that it sat in a warmer for too long and kept cooking. So if you come here select dishes that do well in a crockpot and it will probably be served correctly. It's rare that venues get the food perfect so I didn't knock off more. One feature that I thought was interesting is that the chairs nested together to form a bench. My niece passed out so we set her there to nap. The backs of the chair alternated so she couldn't roll off. I included a picture. read more

Canada MCR Sports Association hosted the 7th World Mahjong Championship at MCC recently, it was a great experience working with MCC, both the service and support are wonderful, people are so nice and polite. We will definitely come back in future and recommend MCC to others. read more

I went to another event last night and was very disappointed in the food. The venue, rooms, parking, coat check and washrooms were all fine but the food for me was awful. I don't know if it has to do with the planning of the event or the venue but I requested gf, vegetarian and dairy free food for myself. when I arrived, there were passed hors d'oeuvres going around. Not a single one could be consumed by me. Not even a single veggie stick in sight. I guess people with food restrictions don't get hungry during cocktail hour right after work?? There was grilled veggies on each place setting with a spanakopita on top (which had dairy and gluten). They finally replaced it with a plate that had chickpeas instead of the spanakopita. For my main, I got the same grilled vegetables, along with some rice that had a couple of mushrooms in it and some carrots. I was not impressed. However, my colleague that requires dairy free got the same meal and she was fine with it. I had the sorbet for dessert which was tasty. In this day and age I just wish that venues would put more effort into the meals for those with dietary restrictions. read more

This is one of the premier locations for hosting weddings and other social events in Mississauga . It's been around for over 15 years now and due to the recent renovations is up to date in the look and feel department especially in the washrooms and lobby areas. The food here is excellent and the management are easy to work with and flexible compared to some other venues we have gone to. I always look forward to events here also because of the easy convenient parking in the huge lot and minimal walking! read more

The Mississauga Convention Centre remains one of my favorite spots in the city. Classy and just plain over-the-top, it's the best place in the city to hold a banquet or gala in my mind. I came here last night for the Mississauga Arts Council MARTY Awards, and forgot just how big this place was. Walking up to the front door, you're immediately hit with a sense of pomp and grandeur, with high stone columns and brickwork framing the three entrances. Inside, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the place was decked out in black-and-red for the ceremony, and the main atrium was packed with people taking photos and schmoozing. I've always found this place works the best for big events and galas. While the guests were treated to live music and presentation of the awards, we enjoyed a three-course meal, including butternut squash soup, stuffed chicken breast with vegetables and mini-potatoes, and a decadent chocolate mousse for dessert. The food was amazing across the board and reminds me how much I missed this place. I can't say enough good things about it. If you're holding a wedding or event here, this convention centre is worth the drive. Everything about it screams class. read more

I attended the Mississauga Convention Center for an open house Wedding Fair on February 3rd, along with my sister and her fiancé who are due to be married soon. We arrived at approximately 10.20 am, and the event was not even setup. (Advertised start time 10am to 6pm) And so we waited in the lobby until the organizers were ready to let us in. Once inside we examined some of the table layouts and decor, and then sat down to relax with a cup of coffee to discuss among ourselves the different table layouts we saw on display. We were soon approached by a salesman (With short dark brown hair, wearing a dark blue suit and approximately 163cm in height. I didn't get his name) After we told him the approximate date for my sisters wedding and the number of guests to be invited ~200, he proceeded to offer appointments that same day to discuss the different wedding packages available. These were not at a convenient time, as my sister had dance classes scheduled at 12.30 pm the same day. We suggested coming back at a more convenient date and time, for this consultation. After approximately 15 minutes the same Salesman approached us again and Rudely told us that our visiting time was up, and that we must leave the venue (We we're inside for less than 30 minutes). We have never experienced such rude and unprofessional attitude from any salesman before. We were all very upset by this man's rude and very unprofessional attitude and will be taking our wedding plans elsewhere. read more

Although I didn't go with this hall in the end...but I will tell you the experience was really good. The halls are nice and are a little older so as usual they have a classic look compared to modern look from the newer halls. But space wise they are quite good. The lady dealing with us was very knowledgeable, friendly and very accommodating to our needs. Just because of her this hall was a runner up until We found Apollo as it was much newer we went with it. Over all I would say good place to have any function and they do have good customer service. read more

I'm just surprised I've never come here before. Was here for a CE Course. Great location, good parking. Nice ambiance inside. The staff were doing an excellent job at keeping it running clean and efficiently. No complaints on that front. Amazing coffee, decent eggs, greasy bacon (at least it was cooked proper) but why o why did we have cold sausages?? I thought mine just got cold sitting as I got busy but when I got a couple more from the "hot" plate, nope still rock solid cold. That didn't make sense. For lunch nice salad, boiled veggies, 1/2 decent potatoes, the pasta sauce I don't know if it was made in house. Seemed store bought, but too acidic? Not a smooth taste. The kicker though were the gigantic chicken quarters that were given. It's not a BBQ. People eating at a conference with the huge chicken pieces (which lacked any real flavour barring the skin) in their plate was ridiculous. Should've been smaller. Easier to eat. I don't know if the size was what was expected by the customer or decided by the chef inside. I hope it's the former. Still not too many complaints. Would go back. read more

I have attended a couple of weddings at the Mississauga Convention Centre in the past but my review is based on two things: 1. My cousin's wedding that we attended (were part of) on June 10th 2. The Kid's Christmas Party that my work hosts (yes I'm a little late) I always enjoyed the food and layout of Mississauga Convention Centre from when I have attended weddings in the past as a guest. For my cousin's wedding- when we got the hall, we were amazed at how beautiful of a job her décor lady did to transform the place but also how attentive the staff were to finishing the additional details (adding custom menu's that we made for the wedding, table numbers and favours). They really did an excellent job of getting the vibe and theme of what the Bride really wanted. We had a large bridal party on both ends but both men and women had their own private bridal suite, which was conveniently located right beside the kitchen / head table. The suite was well kept and had a bottle of champagne waiting for us when we arrived. A server quickly came to us and grabbed us a platter of hors d'oeuvres and a pitcher of water with glasses. They were so polite and nice to us. The food was delicious! We had pasta, Portuguese collard green soup; pan seared chicken breast with filet mignon, a sample of three desserts and the midnight table. Everything was on point (beef was a little over done) but none the less it was flavourful and warm when it came to our table. We really enjoyed ourselves and I'm glad that she decided to have her wedding at this venue! Secondly- my company hosts a kid's Christmas party annually and last year we decided to host our event here for the first time. Food was delicious (again) even the basic pizza, French fries and house made cookies. Everything tastes as though it is made fresh and in house. They were also very accommodating to all of our requests and made our vision for the kid's party come to life. read more

I would strongly recommend the Mississauga Convention Centre for any couples planning their wedding day. I cannot rave enough about the MCC. We had both our ceremony and reception here (Salon "A"), and our guests were floored. None of our family had been to a wedding which held the ceremony in the same venue, and they were all pleasantly surprised. When I was walking down the aisle, I had a hard time looking at my husband instead of the room because it looked gorgeous (we had also booked Elegante Decor - their in-house florist and decorator). The ceremony went off without a hitch. Then came time for the reception. We had our own personal MCC attendant who walked us to our bridal room for some champagne and a little relaxing time before we made our grand entrance. The hall itself was set up magnificently and looked amazing. The food was stellar (as usual) and the midnight buffet was even better. The bar staff and waiters were amazing and very friendly. The entire night was magical and it could not have been made possible without the help of Connie, Melissa and Manny at the MCC. Thanks again! read more

Our company hosted a customer event here this week and I was very impressed with the facility. First, the MCC is very easy to get to from the 401 or the Airport. We had guests coming in from all over Canada so this was crucial to having everying get there on time. The catered lunches were varied and delicious. Plenty of crative vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. My only complaint would be that the A/C was blasting way to much, but only a few people felt that it was too cold for their liking. Married November 1st, 2014 in halls B&C. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical going with MCC at first. At the time my fiance and I were looking into spaces to accommodate 250-300 people that were outside of the typical "banquet hall". WOW - was I ever happy I listed to my fiance on this one, and hired MCC for our big day!!! MCC is nowhere close to typical! From beginning to end they did an amazing job, and boy was I glad I listened to him!!!! Food/Service/Ambiance/overall quality = ***** EXCEPTIONAL!!! From the beginning of the planning process both Michelle and Cliff went above and beyond our exceptions. Quick to respond to emails and any requests/questions we may have had. It was simply put the BEST day ever, and the most INCREDIBLE service/food/everything we could have ever imagined!!! If you are looking to book any event in this space, I would highly recommend it! When they tell you, we will go above and beyond and make sure that all the details are aligned... they mean it!! Which is very refreshing once you see how other vendors may behave/act. MCC was highly professional, organized, and helpful. I cannot thank them enough for doing such an amazing job! The food was incredible, and everyone had the best time. What more could we ask for! This appears to be a pretty nice place. The parking I think there is ample, multiple entrances though which can confuse someone who doesn't know what hall to go to. I'd say the decor, though I don't know what was the venue's vs. the event's was pretty darn nice. Though looking through that one picture posted, the centre piece looks exactly the same so that tells me either they got a bunch to choose from and this is the nicest or this is all they got. The location is pretty good though (although not their fault) there is always construction at Hwy 10 and 401. This often times makes a would be on time arrival to a late arrival. bby Staff, they seem pretty nice and helpful. They directed me to where I was to go. The food service with white gloves was nice. One thing though that really annoys me is fact I have to go across the lobby of one venue to the venue I am going to. So picture 3 halls and say they are 3 events and I am in the 2nd event, I have to go across the lobby of one of the events to get to my event. It's not as much of a problem if I have multiple halls or ones on the end, but it is if I have one in the middle. Overall, still a pretty nice place. read more

Attended the Mississauga Convention Centre today along with my partner for their advertised '2018 Open House/wedding fair. (SEE ADVERTISEMENT BELOW THAT WE REGISTERED FOR) We are recently engaged and looking for an appropriate venue for our future wedding. The event was advertised from 10-6pm. We had registered as required and arrived at around 10:20 am. They were not properly set up to start the event at 10:00am even though it was advertised. We were shy as it seemed nobody but and another couple had arrived so we handed in our tickets and sat in the lobby to give them more time to set up. There were very few venders available to talk to and we talked to a couple of them and looked around the wedding decor displays during which time we were offered a couple of finger foods. We got a coffee and finally got to check out the cake vender and hour later when he finally set up. We tried a couple of cake samples and sat down to have our coffee on the couches they had. More then a couple of times we were pressed about if we had scheduled an appt with one of their sales staff that were on standby to sell us a wedding package and discuss prices. I agreed to do that but informed we have to leave for an appt and so will schedule that once we come back or call to book later during the week. The Sales man agreed. I was standing at a table that was set up perusing the wedding cake brochure and having a coffee while being offered another couple of finger foods when to my complete shock the same sales man who had claimed to be a manager rudely approached us and in not many words literally told us 'this was not a catered event and there's a limited supply of food and he's expecting 500 people to come through and the idea was for people to spend an hour and then leave'. Essentially he was insinuating it was time for us to leave. I couldn't believe the pettiness and disrespectfulness towards us. I should reiterate that it was only 11:20am when he basically asked us to leave. Also when we had arrived at 10:20am the venue and venders were not even properly set up in time. They advertised it started at 10:00am and it was simply advertised as an open house to tour their facility and check out their venders and enjoy finger foods and cocktails during the visit. On Eventbrite, Evensi and Facebook, they did not specify that it was limited to an hour and it was merely for the purpose of s 'Hard Sell' where they expect attendees to make an instant decision signs a contract and book there Hall immediately upon arrival to their so called 'open house'. It was fraudulent advertising. I felt this rude obnoxious sales man didn't even allow us to sample the food and cocktails they advertised they were offering during the open house for which we legitimately registered. He is not a very smart business man. There were hardly any people at the event when he he rudely told us our time was up. It was so disrespectful and shocking to be treated like that we just left and I now have a very bad opinion about Mississauga Convention Centre as a result of this rude salesman. He made sure we would not want to book this venue for our wedding. Good business practice means treating people decently. This man needs training in customer service and smart business practice as he is not attracting potential customers but chasing them away instead!? We don't want to deal with people like this for our wedding. read more

I have been here several times for different events, including weddings and charity dinners. Overall the hall rooms are clean, well kept, and presented in a neat and organized manner for the events. The bathrooms are well kept and clean. The food is catered in house, and of average quality. Nothing spectacular, buy not bad. I would consider hosting a function here, but would probably have my wedding elsewhere (of my budget allows for same). I can remember having my high school graduation prom here in 2000-2001, and it had been renovated since then. Overall, while superior to le treport and other mediocre halls, this place is nothing special. For the price, and given its location, it is satisfactory for all but the higher end of events. The workers at this kinda have a little bit of a attitude they were hesitant to serve secondly i was sitting on the couch by the dance floor while the wedding party were dancing a waiter there came uo beside me and my son pulled his phone out and i didn't think anything i said haha hes texting instead this guy pulled his phone out and took pictures of the girls from behind i couldn't believe it and i didn't know what to do with all these stupid laws so i told my brother in law and i told the head of the banquet that was there, i couldn't find this guy she exclaimed there was a shift that gets off a bit earlier so this guy got away with it... Then i put it together the servers there werent so helpful because they wanted to leave work on time... Its nothing special its a banquet hall like any other but the only thing I would change is the complete staff except the bartenders that worked hard and the espresso machine was broken trying to get one from the staff was like pulling teeth read more

Every little detail was taken care of by the amazing team at the MCC. We were able to enjoy our first moments as husband and wife and we couldn't have been happier. The team at the MCC helped us plan our dream wedding from start to finish and were there with us every step of the way. Working within our budget, they created a custom menu for us and our guests LOVED it. We are still receiving compliments on the food! The venue speaks for itself - if you have an opportunity to visit, please do - you'll fall in love. They recently renovated the space and it looks spectacular. We were truly blown away by the attention to detail and the way our rooms had been set up. The staff were entertaining, professional and fun! The bartenders had guests drinks ready before they were even ordered and everyone loved it. The head waiter was the man of the hour - he even pulled us aside to make sure we ate throughout the night. We recently celebrated our wedding on Friday September 19th and all we can say was "Amazing"! From the beginning to the end I have never seen a wedding reception go as smooth as ours. The service was on point. We were happy that you were able to accommodate everything we had asked for. And as for the food? Everyone and I mean everyone kept mentioning how good the food was. they couldn't believe the quality of the food that was being served. Even until Now people are still Talking about how great the food was. We couldn't have asked for more as you have exceeded all of our expectations and more. I am a straight shooter and will say if the slightest thing went wrong and nothing did. It was that great.
