It was miso soup and beef fried rice
    Dre V.

Just happened to drive by this place and I am overjoyed that I did! I was not planning on posting a review or else I would have taken a photo of my food before I destroyed it! I ordered the lunch special beef fried rice with miso soup. I got it to go and the soup stayed super hot until I finished it. I have eaten a lot of miso soup in my life and this soup was hands down the best I've ever had! Moving on to my rice....sooooo flavorful and the beef was tender! It did not need the yum yum sauce but that was also good! I only live about 6 min from this place so I'll be back just giving them all my money lol! The host guy was very helpful with making suggestions so thank you.

Great place!!! There is seating inside, but it's limited to six 4-6 top tables. This isn't a fine dining type place, but the food is legit and they have some of the best yakisoba that you'll ever try in DFW. Also, the Yum Yum sauce is incredible. I could drink it from a bottle

Hidden gem! Must try if you love Sushi! Worth just stopping by for Green tea. Food was super fresh, tasty & had beautiful presentation. Fantastic service, very friendly. Felt like I was eating at home, great atmosphere. Saw lots of to go orders too. Seems popular.

Their sushi is nice and fresh. Clear soup tastes as good as a hibachi place. I love the vibe of this place. Very comfy with some Japanese pop and jazz playing. And the price is right. Lunch specials are easy on the wallet.

Small quiet independent restaurant. Good quality food at a reasonable price. Quick service. Will be back.

We came here after receiving a take out menu at our home - paper delivery still works!! We ordered a few different sushi rolls as well as chicken katsu. The katsu was great, wasn't fussed about the special sauce. We had a classic roll as well as specialty roll both were great. We also had the volcano roll which we didn't realise was served hot, if we'd known we probably wouldn't have ordered it, the description doesn't clearly state it apart from the word 'baked', would have been nice if our server informed us. It was odd to have a hot sushi roll, it was soupy and didn't compliment our other rolls. It's BYOB, which we weren't aware but there is a liquor store right next door. It's a small location with only about eight tables or so. Enjoyable experience, just avoid the volcano roll.

If you've been wanting to try this place, I'd definitely recommend arriving early. Parking was probably the most challenging part of the visit. There was a rummage sale happening nearby, so the area was busier than usual. They do have a designated parking lot, but it's very small and fills up quickly. Most people will likely need to rely on street parking, which took a little patience that day. The restaurant itself is tiny, but that's part of the charm. There's a bar area that seats around 10 to 12 people and only a handful of tables. We were a party of three and were seated right away, but I could see larger groups having a harder time finding space together. The tables are also on the smaller side, so once the food starts arriving things can get a little crowded. That said, the food completely lived up to the hype. Everything we ordered was delicious. The chicken karaage was crispy and flavorful, the marinated ribeye was tender and packed with flavor, and my favorite dish of the night was easily the beef yakisoba. We each ordered a starter, three skewers, and a side that our server recommended, and every plate disappeared quickly. The atmosphere felt lively and busy, with Japanese figurines and decorations displayed throughout the restaurant. I overheard another guest mention that it reminded them of places they had visited in Japan, which made me appreciate the attention to detail even more. One thing to note - we were told they don't split bills, which wasn't a problem for our group, but it's something to know ahead of time if you're dining with friends.

Overall, I did enjoy the restaurant, but I think you have to go into it with some insights that…read morewould've been much appreciated if I had them prior to going. First and foremost, the bill cannot be split per an item ordered by an individual. You either split it equally, or it's paid in full. I went to dine with two other individuals, and we all ordered without knowing this which was rather confusing when the check came. Next, while they recommend what you order in select categories, be aware that your food is not going to be coming out in the order with which each the categories sit. We were getting items that were listed in the third category, so what should've been eaten prior to dessert before we got any of the yakitori. The location is downtown so be aware of parking, I recommend coming early, or when they open because it gets full quickly we got there at opening, but there was already a line to get in and eat by the time we were leaving. The restaurant is also relatively small, so leave what you can in the car. We didn't have anywhere to place purses so I ended up sitting with mine behind me. It was also difficult because the plates didn't fit on the table as they brought them out because we weren't eating in the course order. Lastly, remember the name of everything that you get. I ordered mushrooms, shiitake, we got mushrooms dropped to the table, but they weren't the correct ones and that seemed like a bit of an issue. The food was good, I would say the best part was definitely the yakitori, and the main dish items. I could take or leave the appetizers, the tonkatsu wasn't memorable for me, it tasted like the meat wasn't seasoned enough with salt and pepper prior to coating in flour and breadcrumbs. I also think the tonkatsu sauce was a bit bland that sat on top of it and it's something I prefer to have on the side. The highlights my meal were all of the yakitori, I enjoyed the chicken breast, soy ribeye, and shiitake mushrooms. I also liked the beef yakisoba, it's nice that they had the Japanese mayo on the side of it. I think when that's included, it always adds a nice richness. I was also a bit disappointed with the yuzu lemonade since it didn't have dried citrus in it, I'd seen prior. I thought about getting the high ball, but that was because I like the look of it overall so I was happy I didn't. If my friends wanted to go back, I would, but I don't think this is something I'd seek out

The interior of the restaurant is very anime-esque. You order at the counter once you're ready. I got the Tori-Mayu. My friend (thanks Andy!) got us apps - takoyaki and karage. Both were excellent! I made the classic mistake, as usual, of eating the takoyaki while it was still pretty hot. Despite the burns to the inside of my mouth, it was definitely worth it. The karage was was absolutely delicious as well. Perfect amount of crunch with moist chicken on the inside. Pairs very well with the spicy mayo that is served on the side. For my main, I got the Tori-mayi - the chicken ramen broth with garlic oil. The broth was rich and flavorful. The chashu was meaty and savory. All of the extra toppings were of great quality. Though, what was undoubtedly the star of the show were the noodles. The texture was nice and springy - they served as the perfect medium for the broth and everything else. Service was great as well. They have a nice cute robot to help deliver everything which I thought fit within the theme. Would certainly come again!
