My yakitori haul... Y11. Bacon Wrapped Scallop Yakitori (1PC) Y29. Pineapple Yakitori (1PC) and Y28. Butter Shitake Mushroom Yakitori (1PC)
    Christina B.

I love coming to Shinobi, the atmosphere is beautiful, the people are so friendly and helpful in giving advice on what to eat together and how delicious it would be. I also love the food. I come for the yakitori because I can't get it anywhere else. I mean their sushi is good. I've had it too, but the yakitori is definitely my favorite. I love getting the pork belly with the pineapple that is coated. Those are two different dishes, but together there are amazing like a flavor bomb. I love the bacon wrapped around the scallop so amazingly tender together so tasty the bacon wrapped okra is also outstanding. I love the mushrooms. They're so cute how they do a little cross pattern and dipped in the garlic butter is so tasty. You'll have to come and try for yourself... I'm definitely coming back.

We had the T12. Dragon Roll, the T11. Rainbow Roll and the 3 Yakitori.

My kids and I can not get enough of this place. The beef yakitori is very tender and juicy. Service is always friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Shinobi is a new restaurant that provides good Japanese food! Had a great experience with a big crowd of 15 people. The services were very kind, quick, helpful, and attentive. The interior provided a calm, energetic, aesthetic that resonates with the Japan culture. The food came out very clean, organize, and aesthetically pleasing. The flavor was there and listed at a good price. Definitely worth getting their Bento Box!

The inside is tiny and there isn't even a proper "waiting" area. I've also tried coming here before, and there was also a long wait. I'm glad I decided to stick it out this time. We ordered the Wagyu sushi, Yakitori, Tonkotsu Miso Ramen, and the Tomato Ramen. The Wagyu sushi is torched right in front of you! The Wagyu was incredibly tender and the sauce was delicious. My only *nitpicky* critique is the rice was ever so slightly too moist, but that didn't stop me from inhaling the sushi. Next, the Yakitori was phenomenal. I've never had such tender chicken in my life. There was a nice layer of delicious sauce coating the skewer. Again, just a really nitpicky feedback I have was that I wish the Yakitori had the tiniest bit more char to it, but nevertheless was an incredible bite, and I'd 100% order again in a heartbeat. Onto the ramen - easily hands down one of the best ramen I've had in DFW. The broth is flavorful, and I love the noodles. I'm not sure if they're handmade from scratch, but they had the perfect thickness and chewiness. I also loved generous the portion of cha shu slices. Most other places only give you 1-2 thin slices, but that was not the case here. The pork was tender. The ajitama was solid too, although I prefer more of a soft-boiled egg. While the meat portion is more generous here, the tonkotsu didn't come with many vegetables. A lot of other ramen places I've been to will have corn, fried garlic, etc as default, but those are all additional cost add-ons here. The ramen was delicious without them though but just something to note. We also got the tomato ramen as it's the chef recommendation. The dish is very creative and the execution was great. Personally, I still prefer traditional ramens but it was certainly a nice culinary creation to try. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and would come here again. Just be aware there may be a wait, and because they're so busy, you do have to proactively flag down staff. However, the staff are still really nice despite all the tasks they're juggling at once.

We got spicy gyoza to start, black pork tonkatsu w/ small curry rice bowl and a spicy dan dan. Gyoza came smothered in their sweet garlic chilli which defeats the purpose of a crispy gyoza skirt. It might be better to retain the crisp and crunch of the gyoza skin with the chilli sauce on the side? On to the ramen -- if you want to know if you're getting a quality bowl, look no further than the preparation of the egg. No respectable ramen shop would serve you well done boiled eggs which was the case here. The tonkatsu had heavy garlic flavor which is good but was unfortunately overshadowed by the abundance of burnt garlic bits. Not much to say about the Dan Dan. Bathroom clean but had a strong smelled. Would not go out of my way nor return with the amount of noodle options in dfw.

Alaskan Roll: A classic roll that's perfect for salmon lovers. The price is standard for sushi in the area, and the portion size is generous. The roll was very fresh with great flavor. Eel Roll: This roll was good but definitely on the smaller side. However, it was still fresh, and the sauce was tasty. Chirashi: This dish was just okay. I'd recommend sticking to the rolls instead of the bowl. It came with one piece of each type of fish, almost like a sampler with a lot of rice.

I went the day before Thanksgiving and the japanese chef was a one man show. He was the only one running the establishment because everyone else had left to go to Japan for the holiday. He is so so so so nice. I don't go back to restaurants very often but this place has my heart. This time I got the spicy pork ramen (17), spicy garlic chicken ramen (18), and then got the spicy garlic pork ramen (19) togo. I will say it is a little bit salty, with the garlic ones being more salty than the non garlic ones. However the garlic ones do have more flavor. There's not that much meat/protein either just one piece of meat and an egg. The could be slightly better but it's still good. It also just has bamboo shoots but nothing else. A very simple bowl. Ambiance is nice, it feels upscale but also homey at the same time. They have an open kitchen concept which I like.

I had to dig for it. I know they probably put the meat at the bottom so it'll warm up with the broth, but I prefer it at the top. Unrelated to the food, I sat on the bench and there was a customer sitting on the bench beside me. She kept shifting around and causing the entire bench to move, which I didn't like.

As a former fan of "all you can eat" buffets, I noticed as I've gotten older, I'm no longer a fan of "all ya can eat", but hangin' out with da fellas is fun. What can I say about Japan House? 1. The restaurant had an extensive sushi menu for all you can eat. 2. Exceptional service! Our waitress was very attentive, she kept checking up on us and placed our food orders quickly. After placing the food order, the food came out quickly. 3. This restaurant was one of the first restaurants that used an electronic robot. The robot machine brought out the simple items, and I even saw the robot sing "Happy Birthday" to a restaurant patron. 4. The restaurant is casual, and pretty dark inside. 5. The sushi quality is about "middle of the road", not the best, but far from bad. What do you expect for all you can eat? Check out my pics..... And if ya gotta ask, YES......all that food pics I took, I actually ate all that food. I swear when I got back to the hotel, I was in total kanak attack (Hawaiian Paralysis). Lol!
