The fish was surprisingly fresh and the rolls we had were tasty. Service was great and overall a nice casual sushi restaurant. I need to come back and try more of the nigiri options they offer!

The food was absolutely tasty and fresh. We enjoyed everything we ate. The staff were friendly and professional and really made us feel welcomed. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and honestly even though we sat at the sushi bar. I feel it would have been just as great seated anywhere

Went here for lunch on a weekday, we'll be back! The menu isn't overwhelming, which is great, the items we had were all delicious: Edamame Gyoza California Roll Side Salad Miso Soup Poke Bowl The poke bowl was my mine, the ingredients are super fresh & It's a perfectly balanced amount of ingredients. Not too much sauce, or veggies, with just the right of protein. You get two protein options, the bowl itself is a generous portion. The staff is very friendly but I'll say it was hit & miss on service. It wasn't busy when we got there but by the time we ordered it had filled up more & the waitress had already taken two orders of tables that got seated after us by the time she came to take our orders. We also had to ask for drink refills twice. That being said, it wasn't like we thought she was a terrible waitress... very polite but just our observation on attentiveness. Clean restaurant, delicious food, prices are very affordable especially for the generous amount of food they give you.

This is such a great spot for a solo lunch. It's a hidden gem for sushi. I can't stop thinking about the hamachi krudo. It is that good. The service was fast and the staff were very friendly. They were attentive and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Great experience and even greater food! Our service was excellent as well! We went as soon as they opened and that was a great choice! We have always ordered to-go and we were glad that the ambiance and the overall experience and quality was perfect!

It was a super cold day in the DFW and it was the absolute perfect day to get some hot Udon soup to warm me up a bit. There are several types of Udon offered at Kaiyo, I decided to get the Nabeyaki Udon. It's pretty much the works. It comes with veggies, chicken, shrimp tempura and a soft boil egg. The dish was very tasty and came out pipping hot which was absolutely perfect for this super cold day in DFW. Loved the dashi based broth it had a wonderful flavor. The shrimp tempera was very good and the soft boil egg was a nice cooked soft boiled egg, the noodles were thick and perfect to work on my proper slurp game! I did not really care for the chicken but the rest of the soup was spot on! Since this a sushi place I got some yellow tail sashimi as my dessert. Very nice size pieces offered! Our waitress was very nice and super sweet and attentive to us and the entire restaurant. The inside was very cool with a bar you can sit and and watch the chefs work their craft. Very cool atmosphere! Can't wait to go back and try more of their sushi and from the looks of it they have some super nice lunch special offerings!

I've been here a few times with my husband and it had been a while we had sushi so we decided to come here since our experience has always been good. It was a little busy when we showed up but we were seated right away. This restaurant always has a nice atmosphere and all servers are friendly. We started with beer & sake then ordered an appetizer that we never got. This is my only complaint about our last visit, not sure how our waitress completely forgot that we had ordered an appetizer, aside from that she was lovely. We ordered 3 specialty rolls: Kaiyo roll, Hot mama roll, and Sexy roll. Kaiyo and hot mama were our favorites!

Decent suburban sushi restaurant in Mansfield. I was craving sushi but didn't want to drive far. The interior looks really nice and the waiters are friendly. Their menus are on a tablet, which was pretty cool. Prices are medium $$ range. Food came out quickly. I tried the hamachi krudo and Fuji San roll. The yellow tail in the hamachi krudo was pretty soft. The seasoning liquid was okay but could have used more flavor. The apples were a nice touch. (8/10) As for the Fuji San roll, I liked the smoked tuna component the most. The smokiness was a very prominent flavor, and the pieces of tuna were tender. Everything else was okay. The cajun seasoning was a tad too salty. The rolls were small (my guess is a half-sheet of nori was used) compared to other sushi restaurants I've been to. Considering the portion size, I feel like it's a little expensive for what it was. (6/10) Overall, I spent $30, but I was still somewhat hungry afterwards. I'd go here again and explore the menu options.

The sushi is SO fresh and the staff here is incredibly helpful, cheerful and attentive!! I always seem to want to come here when it's closed but I finally did it! The atmosphere is chill and romantic. Love this place!! My waiter, Gigi, was so sweet and the best!!

Great customer service. Fresh, quick, hot food. I had a decent cup of Merlot wine, and the shrimp tempura roll. My daughter really enjoyed the chicken Katsu rice bowl and the shrimp fried rice was seasoned to perfection. The setting is quant and contemporary with booths and tables. I'd defiantly recommend giving this restaurant a try!

It's been too long. Love this place!

This place has the best sushi I've had in a really long time! Everything tastes so fresh! Every thing I've tried here has tasted incredible. The cocktails are also a hit This review is LONG overdue! The owner is wonderful, so welcoming and recognizes me every time I come in. Even if it's been a bit since my last visit. The staff is also always so welcoming. The restaurant itself is always clean, really chill place great for any occasion! I've celebrated here for a holiday dinner. Came with friends/family and also alone! It's a sweet spot for some one on one. Will be back very soon!

Spicy Edamame, Yellowtail Jalapeno, last item was a special and not on menu (don't remember what it was)

I hadn't familiarized myself with their expansive menu before we went. Our waiter, Jesse, was terrific and quided us through the appetizer descriptions as we settled in. I wanted to try their fish and chose the Japanese Mackerel, a Grilled Saba, for $7.50 from their rotating appetizer list. My spouse loves Chicken Karaage and just had to have that from the permanent app list. The Chicken Karaage was $7 for Fried-marinated boneless thigh meat with kewpie mayo, and bonito flakes. Itadaki also has a spicy mayo that is delicious. So we noshed and perused the amazing menu that had Bento boxes, sushi, dinner entrees, their Hokkaido-Style ramen and more. The Mackerel was lovely. It was a perfect small filet with charred skin and I shared it with my husband only to realize later that after the chicken, I had stopped taking photos. We just sat and ate our way to the end of a wonderful meal. The Chicken Karaage was terrific. So my Husband ordered the Chicken Katsu Bento. The Bentos come with salad, miso soup, a large portion of rice - he chose fried rice - steamed broccoli, gyoza, and fruit. ($20 + $2) The Bento portion is a lot of food, especially if you have appetizers. I ordered Jesse's recommended Ramen, the Nigori Chicken Broth. It's their signature creamy broth with lots of curly egg noodles and I chose the pork chase and light sodium. It came with egg, corn, scallions and mushrooms and there was no way that I could finish it. Definitely Delicious. The leftovers rode well. We had a lovely time and I definitely want to return. Parking can be a little tight directly in front as this strip center contains some very popular places, but there is a large parking lot at one end that will suffice.

We've driven out to Mansfield twice now for dinner and both times chose Suzushii…read more I'll start with the ambiance. Unfortunately, the majority of the restaurant is a wide open high ceilinged space made up of tables and chairs. A bar area with two registers either side, line one wall, and booths with chairs on the aisle, line the other. The "music" is radio. It's loud and much of it is garbled over the noise. The first time we were there it was near closing and I asked to please turn it down as we were the only people left. Thankfully they did. This visit there were two birthdays going on and a full noisy house at dinner time. We were in the middle of things at a table. I can say, the prices are moderate and the food is generally good. I see why everyone is there on a Thursday. It's just not my ideal dining experience. Our waiter was terrific and the service was spot on. Their menu is expansive. We first ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll as an appetizer. They make the BEST spicy tuna rolls. Spicy and big, with a large portion of spicy tuna in every bite. EVERY bite. The roll is perfect. Fantastic! I always want Sashimi so I ordered the dinner with 3pcs each of Tuna, Salmon, Yellow Tail, White Tuna, and Red Snapper. It's served with miso soup and a salad. ($26.95) The miso soup is delicious. I usually sip on it as I eat the sashimi. The salad is lettuce and 1 grape tomato but there's lots of that wonderful dressing. They give you shaved daikon in every corner of the sashimi platter and I put some in my leftover dressing in the salad bowl. Crunchy yummy textural goodness for an additional palate cleanser. So good! The rest goes in my soup. None of it goes to waste. I love daikon! The platter itself was good quality except for the salmon which was not firm. Flimsy, it tasted alright but was not particularly unctuous and fell apart when you picked it up with the chopsticks. But overall, I enjoyed the platter and the other fish was very good. My spouse always orders chicken teriyaki. It's a risk. He was disappointed this time with partially charred dry chicken. His dinner was served with Hibachi vegetables and he substituted fried rice for an additional $2.50. It was also served with the miso soup and a salad ($15.95). My husband will not complain to me until the meal is over because he knows I WILL complain for him. But he left most of the chicken so I asked him. *sigh* The restrooms were large, clean and adequately supplied. The parking is shopping center parking. The service does not disappoint. It's unfortunate that some other aspects of quality do.

Stopped in here randomly on a work trip. Sometimes those unexpected finds turn into absolute gems…read more This wasn't one of them. Let's start with the negatives. The cons: 1. The chopsticks. This completely threw me off. They brought out disposable wooden chopsticks that were already separated and looked dirty and worn. Whether they had actually been used or not, that's exactly the impression they gave. When you're about to tuck into raw fish, that's not the first impression you want. 2. Service. Matt Simmons enjoys a beer, and I suffer from a rare condition where every beer tastes suspiciously like another one. Sadly, my research was cut short. The waiter never came back to ask if I wanted another drink or even check on the table. 3. The prices. The $60 Love Boat is fair enough for the amount of food you get. Charging $18 for a bloody rainbow roll, though, is reaching, especially when the service and attention to detail don't justify premium prices. The pros: 1. Credit where it's due, the fish itself was fresh. The tuna and salmon sashimi were the highlights. 2. The Love Boat presentation looks brilliant when it arrives and makes for a great centrepiece. 3. Portions were generous, so nobody left hungry. Unfortunately, sushi is built on trust. If the very first thing placed in front of me looks unhygienic, it immediately puts me on edge. Add in inattentive service and prices that belong in a much better restaurant, and it's difficult to recommend.
