I recently moved to Cambridge and pretty new to everything here in Cam. And I tried Little Seoul since I really wanted to have Korean food. I like Little Seoul because it serves pretty genuine Korean cuisine, although it may not be 100% the same as you could have in Korea. They have very good customer service as well, which is also a good point. But there are some cons. Like, it is quite hard to find the entrance of the restaurant, and you need to go down to the basement. In general, I recommend this place. FYI, I've tried Tofu stew and pancake. read more

Little Seoul doesn't look like a nice restaurant from the outside but once you get inside it's actually a nice little place. For appetizers, hubby and I ordered the mandoo and cabbage kimchee. Mandoo was great, cabbage kimchee was alright. I think next time I'll order the vegetable selection. I ordered the bi bim bap for lunch, I was really hungry and wasn't sure if I'd be able to get full but alas, my appetite was satisfied. My husband had the tonkatsu curry and he enjoyed it. The food they serve is tasty and I have enjoyed my soondoobu jigae (soft tofu stew) to a certain extent. This is all good I can say about Little Seoul. The servings, however, are quite small. Most importantly, they serve food with virtually no banchan (side dishes). be it namul, kimchi or anything else. I ate there twice. Once I got a bit of a meatloaf (which was not great), the other time - some bean sprouts (literally a single fork worth of sprouts). The sprouts were OK. It was the first Korean restaurant I have been too, that did not serve kimchi as a side dish. The rice - both in bibimbap and as a side for my jigae - was overcooked and uninteresting. The service is border-line rude and the location in a basement does not really help to create a welcoming ambience either. The food is edible and can be tasty, but I don't think I will come here ever again. read more

Our friend booked us a table for 9pm on a Friday night and we were so looking forward to some Korean food! We got there promptly and ordered a few Korean beers Hite which were really refreshing and a green tea for these designated driver. We ordered the mix kimchi, mix namul (fresh veg lightly pickled in sesame oil and rice wine vinegar), pork and chicken dumplings, honey cheese dukpoki and a kimchi pancake. All came quickly and tasted good although the mx kimchi and namul could've been a bit more exciting as we've tried in other Korean restaurants. The dukpoki was a lovely tasty surprise as the rice sticks were nice and chewy and in a honey soy-like sauce topped with a hint of cheese! For our mains we got one beef bibimbap (menu said "in ceramic bowl"), one beef dolsot bibimbap ("in hot stone bowl" - traditional style), pork bulgogi and one beef japchae (a glass noodle (gluten free, usually made with mung bean starch). The mains were okay. I think the pork bulgogi won with its sweet and spicy wafer slices of tender pork. The two bibimbap's difference was literally the bowl which was disappointing because I was expecting a raw egg in the hot stone bowl. The japchae was lacking in flavour and was a bit too dry. If the review was on food alone, it would still get 3 stars because the staple dishes weren't quite up to scratch. I do want to mention that although they say they close at 10pm, they rushed the mains at the same time "because the kitchen closes at 9:30pm". My issue is that our server should have informed us that it would be okay to order starters but they would come at the same time as our mains. In that case, we would not have ordered so many starters. We ended up having to rush our starters in 5 minutes because they had already starting bring out our mains. We had to ask them to keep them in the kitchen for 5 minutes because there wasn't even enough room in the table! Anyway, I don't usually like to moan about these things but it was a bad start to our night with no apology from the staff AND they whacked a 10% service charge on top of the bill! What a wonderful surprise! My boyfriend and I have been doing "new place Tuesday" every week since January, and I can say without hesitation this has been my favorite place so far. I got one of the bulgogi dishes (I think their menu is bigger there than on the website,) and it was so good I could eat it every night. What's more is one of the women I work with used to live in Korea and said their food was very authentic to what she ate in country. And the prices were one of our cheapest meals yet. On a Tuesday night it was nearly empty and the staff was very attentive without being annoying. Overall: must try! read more

Little Seoul is definitely a really nice little South Korean restaurant. It is located under ground, you walk in on the street level and head downstairs to the dining area. It isn't cut out for tall people, my husband had to duck down while entering the dining area. Service was friendly and prompt. Ordered 3 orders of the cucumber kimchi, it was really good and not too spicy, made for the general public, which was nice because my husband cannot tolerate spicy food. Then for an appetizer we ordered the mung bean pancakes, they were very good, I suggest trying them. For our main entree, I ordered the beef bulgogi and it was absolutely amazing, my husband ordered the bibimbab and it too was very tasty. We shared a bottle of soju and really enjoyed it. We were very happy with the overall presentation of food, service, quality and taste. Looking forward to dining here again soon. Our bill did run us about £60.00 though. read more

Little Seoul is a great Korean restaurant in the edge of the town centre. It serves lots of traditional dishes that are delicious if a little lacking in authenticity. The prices are good and the restaurant itself is pleasant, but I struggled to find any Koreans working there. Definitely worth a trip, or head to Bibimbap House on Mill Road for something more authentic. read more

We went for dinner and enjoyed the experience. The menu is reasonably diverse, and the food is overall good as well. I've had better, to be honest, but it gets the job done. Service was excellent. The manager was very kind to let us know that our table is next to crying babies, asking if we would be okay with that. After the guests next to us left, he served us free drinks to thank us for putting up with the noise. You don't get service like this every day. Ambience was cozy -- note the venue is rather small and underground. Not the poshest environment at all, but it does give a sense of intimacy and local-ness, so good for casual and hearty meals. So I went out check what cambridge has to offer since I've just moved in here recently. I found this place by accident. on the outside it really looked a bit sketchy. it is located underground but I have to admit I was surprised by the inside! very cozy but small place. The service was really nice and quick (note:I went there for lunch on a sunday) I ordered the seafood pancake, bibimbap and a green tea. From what I can tell customers always get served with some omelettes and soy beans. My food got served amazingly fast! Really I think it took like 6 minutes for my Bibimbap to arrive with my starters. The seafood pancakes were really good and the bibimbap was decent. I would have given Little Seoul 4stars but the price is just incredible cheap for cambridge. I paid 16£ for everything. you definitely get the most out of your bucket! definitely recommend it for lunch. read more

We'd never tried Korean food before but we'd tried Japanese food a few times and are big fans of Thai food, so we figured that since that's the same side of the world, Korean food would be worth a shot if this restaurant is anything to go by (and it probably is), then Korean food's OK but we'll probably stick to what we know. The staff were extremely friendly and seemed very used to serving people who've never eaten Korean before. The menu isn't particularly varied but they will suggest things for you if you look like you're confused. If you're going with a group of people, if any of them are unadventurous (the kind of people who always order sweet & sour chicken in a Chinese) then they might struggle, because it's hard to spot a 'safe' option on the menu- everything's just a little bit unusual, or in the case of the eels, very odd. The sauces were a bit too bitter and thick, and for me they were all just a bit too much like glutenous tomato ketchup (I have the same criticism of Turkish food). Reasonably priced, but not cheap. Tasty enough but not especially memorable. read more

Absolutely one of the worst places to go in Cambridge. I don't know how this place has such a high rating but I've been to far better Korean restaurants. Food is of the lowest quality you can imagine, and don't get me started on the prices. Soju is ten pounds, which should be a crime for anyone to charge that price for a bottle of soju (soju is by far the cheapest Korean alcohol). The owner is beyond rude. He doesn't care if you're not satisfied with the service or the food quality because he thinks his customers don't know any better. Serviceable Korean food in Cambridge since my friend and I are super spoiled by Korean food in California! We were really craving some and decided to visit this spot for lunch since its cheaper then. Ordered two tofu soups and requested the seafood to be changed to beef. They used the bulgogi meat so the soup came out a little sweet but it was fine for us since we were really desperate. Also ordered a bulgogi rice combo which was good too. There were only two side dishes but I heard that they dont usually even have side dishes in korean restaurants here so that was fine too. read more

My boyfriend and I both lived in Korea for a short period of time and the food at Little Seoul reminded us of the authentic cuisine we missed from South Korea. The chicken bulgogi was delicious, and the mushroom bulgogi was equally amazing. Although the food was delicious I found the portion for the chicken bulgogi was a little small, and I ended up ordering another one. We loved how they served Soju!!! My only minor complaints are that the bathrooms were kinda cramped and dirty (which also gave it an authentic feeling haha), and that the portions were small. Also it would of been nice to have the option to cook your own meat on a the table much like they do in most Korean restaurants. But overall amazing and well worth the visit! read more

Fantastic place for lunch or dinner in central Cambridge. Cosy little place underneath Regent Street with very friendly and attentive waiters, nice traditional décor and all the classic Korean dishes on the menu, as well as a few different Asian beers. Delicious! The spicy pork bugolgi is my personal favourite. The service is efficient even when busy, so it's especially perfect for a quick lunch, or to grab something before a film that isn't fast food but won't slow you down. My only gripe is they charge for the (elsewhere complimentary) pickles as side dishes. read more

Not too popular among young generation, have to say. Most of visitors were retired age people. Neverless, the place is cozy and quiet, perfect for long tea drink and maybe a snack. I saw they serve sandwiches, some soft drinks, but I never tried it. The place is especially lovely in summer - then you can enjoy your tea sitting outside. I would say it is a perfect place for a quiet sitting down with a book in hands or even for a chat with old friend(and I do not mean "old" as in age). read more

I went to the restaurant after reading all the positive review, however, I was so disappointed for my first time visit. I ordered kimchi(spicy vegetable), it tastes awful, its not spicy and not preserved well. i have been to few korean restaurant in london, this one is the worst one. i also ordered bimbimbab, which is one of the choices in the lunch menu, the rice was being served in a bowl, which usually its being served in a stone-pot. and the rice was cold. I asked them if they can help me to reheat it, surprisingly, the waitress said this is supposed to be cold! i was like.. wtf? she explained to me if i want the hot one, i shdnt order the lunch menu one. the price was 2pounds difference! I was like, what....?why dont u remind me by the time I ordered it? So, I dont recommend this restaurant. read more
