This place has decent food for the area, considering I live in San Francisco, USA. I can easily compare it to our local restaurants. I would definitely come back, but the customer service is what will keep me away. I had two picky eaters with me, so I ordered two' meals and wanted to order an extra' meal soup just in case my son didn't like one meal. The waiter informed me that it wasn't allowed because they were cracking down on it. I didn't understand what he meant, but I suppose I couldn't order another meal and spend more money. Fine, no big deal, your loss. After eating, I wanted a to-go box and asked for small sauce for my leftovers. He said he would charge me $50 pounds. What? I said sure, charge me because maybe I misheard. At the end, I got my bill and he didn't charge me. I felt like this waiter was lazy and didn't care about customer service and just wanted to make it an easy table for us to eat and leave quickly. The summer rolls are small, but tasted okay. Not great, but adequate. The Spicy beef pho was just okay. The restaurant has music playing so load that you feel like your in a disco getting the crap shook out of you with the overpowering bass. I'm here to eat not hear rap and hip hop crap. Well let me say what a welcoming place this is. I was super hungry and it was cold/rainy out. Pho was what I needed. We were seated right away but next to the heater that was blowing on us. I love the heat but my husband asked them to turn it off which they of course did. We usually order spring rolls but the squid caught our eye along with the waiters recommendation. He wasn't wrong and it was really good. We ordered my son's children's pho with just noodles and beef broth but they put the meat in; however, the noodles were plentiful. The pho was good to me but hubby seemed to think it wasn't as flavorful and the drinks were okay but not as strong I think because of all the crushed ice. I didn't get the chance to go to bathroom there but my son and hubby did who said it was okay next to lounge but damn, it was a hike to get on the 4th floor. No wonder I thought my son went missing which is why I sent hubby up to get him. Overall just okay for us. read more

This review is going to be based on food and experience. For reference I have their pho with meatballs and steak. While in England, I had the BIGGEST craving for pho. It must have been the weather that was influencing my taste buds so I got on Yelp and searched for the highest reviewed restaurant in Cambridge to fulfill my needs! Pho is located very close to the shopping mall and corn exchange, which makes it easy to navigate to. Upon entering I was seated immediately at the bar facing the window and was given a menu. Pho: The pho that I am used to here is very different than the pho I tried here. Not saying it was a bad thing, but it was different. The noodles were udon instead of rice. The meatballs were REAL meatballs (think spaghetti meatballs) instead of the meat balls I was used to in the U.S. The taste of the broth was similar but it did have a different taste. All in all, it was satisfying and the portions were the same. I really enjoyed the broth. Experience: This restaurant is 3 stories with a lot of space and a very nice vibe. The music is eclectic and it was a more modern/lounge vibe than most Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. The service was great, I had my servers change shifts halfway through and both women were very pleasant and helpful. I really liked how when I asked for water the server brought me a large refill along with my cup. I thought that was thoughtful. Pho actually should be a good and popular brand in western countries, but this restaurant has some poor knowledge and lazy waiter, who are gradually damaging this brand. They don't know the spirit and secrets of the classic pho. It requires the hot soup to cook the green bean sprouts, but this time, my first time in Cambridge, is an exception. The lazy waiter brought the Classic pho with a much lower temperature - apparently the food had been waiting in the kitchen for 20 mins ... so the result is you could not chew the sprouts because it would cause you Diarrhea, - it is RAW and could not be cooked in a 20 degree soup! Hopefully this comment could aware the waiters to treat the customers more efficiently! read more

One star for the ok service and another star for the hip interior design and branding of this place. Zero for the quality of pho and the price. We ordered a house special pho that was described as - thick tomato and crab broth pho with tofu and steak. We also ordered a pan fried steak pho. From the previous reviews we had high hopes for this restaurant. However, we were really disappointed as soon as we taste the broth. The "thick tomato and crab broth" was nowhere to be found, other than a watery taste of seafood powerder broth. The steak pho was slightly better after we added more fish sauce and chilly oil but it was still far from what we expected. We had way better pho at other places before for a lower price. The location and interior design of this place is nice but if you are looking for some good hot pho I wouldn't recommend coming here. read more

This is the only review I think I've given in a long time. This is the worst Vietnamese restaurant I've ever eaten at, and I've been to probably more than 30. The food is flavorless, the noodles felt like linguini noodles out of an Italian cuisine. The broth tasted funny and there was barely even any meat at all considering I gotten a house special. Maybe this place is more of a Vietnamese "inspired" but no way in any shape or form an authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I posted this on my Instagram story and I never had more reactions to my story of people laughing and saying the food looks absolutely horrible and nothing like an authentic Vietnamese noodle bowl would look like. The waitor came up to me and asked if I enjoyed the food and I told her the same thing I wrote about, and she said that I apparently don't know what I'm talking about. read more

Just what I needed on a rainy day! While the noodles are a bit different than I'm used to for Pho, they were still tasty. I had the veggie spring rolls () and the combo pho (). The meatballs seemed homemade and I could have done with just them. The well done meat was my fav; the steak should have been a little thinner. The staff gets 5 stars alone! They are extremely friendly and welcoming. I would come here just for the service! I'll def be back and I'm sure once winter sets in I'll be ordering on deliveroo frequently. read more

I used to like the food here. Its still ok. But i think its really unecessary that the restaurant place a MANDATORY SERVICE CHARGE. England is known to be a free service or voluntary tip service. This is not real Pho but it's alright noodle soup. The reason I say this is not real Pho, is because they do not use the correct noodles which are a major key. The brisket was also super tough, if it had not been shredded it would have been unchewable. The broth was ok but they did not have hoisin sauce or anything similar which can really boost the flavor of Pho to another level. They did have chili oil and fish sauce, so at least I could use that. Also, I only ordered two things, Pho and water , they never brought the water and it was really hard to catch a waiter's attention to ask for it again. I actually never got any water, by time I got someone's attention I was pretty much done. My experience wasn't that great, gonna try something else next time I'm in Cambridge. read more

Pho taì was pretty bland, and our soups came out luke warm. Noodles were really wide compared to any pho I've ever had but that was ok. It was also served with mint which was extremely bizarre as compared to Thai basil which would be normal. Additionally there were no onions and the ramen spoons didn't make any sense. We stumbled across PHO for lunch while checking out Cambridge. They were able to accommodate a group of 9 including two kids. The restaurant is much larger than it appears when you first walk in. There are more tables upstairs as well as a lounge and bar. They have a variety of drink options including vietnamese coffee, fresh squeezed juices as well as some creative boozy beverages. I enjoy Pho back home in the states every other week and was curious how this would compare. I must say it was pretty darn good. I tried the steak and brisket and the brisket was definetly the better of the two. The broth was delicious and came with the normal Pho fixings. Their spring rolls were very good as well. People were coming in almost every other minute so I got the sense this place is pretty popular both to locals as well as tourists. Great on a colder day, and great for lunch and or dinner. My friend and I were looking for an interesting place to eat before returning to London. We had eaten plenty of pub food and Indian so we thought pho sounded like a change of pace. This was a nice place with good size bowls pho. I love being able to add spices to make the broth spicier. I had the mango and lime salad. Decent food. It is not flavourful enough and a bit bland but good otherwise. I would describe it as modern meets traditional. Service and management wise it can use some improvement. We got turned away a couple of times because the upstairs wasn't open during certain hours (non busy hours) and the downstairs was full. When you travel and see tastefully decorated restaurant with good atmosphere playing good music, you so much want to give it the best rating possible. Based on the server's rec, I ordered a sliced beef pho with addition of 3 kinds of mushrooms. The meal would have been great if not for one minor defect : the broth while warm was not hot enough to soften the noodles or cook the bean sprout and mushrooms. If the broth was boiling when poured in the bowl, the pho would have been good enough - the condiments and spices are all there and the additional Siraccha would be perfect for a bowl of pho. It should have been a 5 *. Perhaps if you told the server that you want your broth boiling then someone else could give it the 5* it should really deserve. read more

My parents and I were in Cambridge on a day pouring rain, and wanted something hot and soupy for lunch. This restaurant does not have the most authentic or delicious pho in the world - it's a chain restaurant in the UK - but if you adjust your expectations with that in mind, it's decent. (I think it's way better than Wagamama!) The pho came with all the normal fixings of cilantro, jalapeño, sprouts, lime wedges, etc, which I appreciated. Stopped in on a whim and was not disappointed. Portions are large and service was prompt.

The pho is not bad here with a light broth, wider pho noodle and a smaller quantity of good quality meat. However, what left a sour taste in my mouth upon leaving was the service charge that was on our bill that was neither mentioned when we first arrived nor when the bill was presented. Upon closer inspection I noticed this 12.5% charge was optional so i left a tip that was a couple cents/pence shorter than the amount recommended. Our server then brought the bill back to my table and told me that I did not tip enough. When I confronted him and asked him why I couldn't tip my amount when the service charge was optional he proceeded to tell me that I should have told him in advance to remove the service charge if I didn't want to pay it. This is not how tipping should work in any self-respecting restaurant and it is safe to say that I am never coming here again. read more

Friendly Vietnamese restaurant in the centre of Cambridge. Welcoming staff, tasty and reasonable priced food and nice atmosphere. The only backdraw was the missing air-conditioning or an opportunity to open a window to allow some fresh breeze to enter the room.
