Prawn spring roll with peanut sauce

Nice atmosphere, broth was a little bland and no additional items to add flavor. Also, beef meatballs are ground beef meatballs (Italian style - strange). Good spicy Lychee margarita.

Well let me say what a welcoming place this is. I was super hungry and it was cold/rainy out. Pho was what I needed. We were seated right away but next to the heater that was blowing on us. I love the heat but my husband asked them to turn it off which they of course did. We usually order spring rolls but the squid caught our eye along with the waiters recommendation. He wasn't wrong and it was really good. We ordered my son's children's pho with just noodles and beef broth but they put the meat in; however, the noodles were plentiful. The pho was good to me but hubby seemed to think it wasn't as flavorful and the drinks were okay but not as strong I think because of all the crushed ice. I didn't get the chance to go to bathroom there but my son and hubby did who said it was okay next to lounge but damn, it was a hike to get on the 4th floor. No wonder I thought my son went missing which is why I sent hubby up to get him. Overall just okay for us.

This review is going to be based on food and experience. For reference I have their pho with meatballs and steak. While in England, I had the BIGGEST craving for pho. It must have been the weather that was influencing my taste buds so I got on Yelp and searched for the highest reviewed restaurant in Cambridge to fulfill my needs! Pho is located very close to the shopping mall and corn exchange, which makes it easy to navigate to. Upon entering I was seated immediately at the bar facing the window and was given a menu. Pho: The pho that I am used to here is very different than the pho I tried here. Not saying it was a bad thing, but it was different. The noodles were udon instead of rice. The meatballs were REAL meatballs (think spaghetti meatballs) instead of the meat balls I was used to in the U.S. The taste of the broth was similar but it did have a different taste. All in all, it was satisfying and the portions were the same. I really enjoyed the broth. Experience: This restaurant is 3 stories with a lot of space and a very nice vibe. The music is eclectic and it was a more modern/lounge vibe than most Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. The service was great, I had my servers change shifts halfway through and both women were very pleasant and helpful. I really liked how when I asked for water the server brought me a large refill along with my cup. I thought that was thoughtful. If you are in the Cambridge area and want something to keep you warm, come here. I really liked the ambiance of this place and the pho was pretty good!

Pho actually should be a good and popular brand in western countries, but this restaurant has some poor knowledge and lazy waiter, who are gradually damaging this brand. They don't know the spirit and secrets of the classic pho. It requires the hot soup to cook the green bean sprouts, but this time, my first time in Cambridge, is an exception. The lazy waiter brought the Classic pho with a much lower temperature - apparently the food had been waiting in the kitchen for 20 mins ... so the result is you could not chew the sprouts because it would cause you Diarrhea, - it is RAW and could not be cooked in a 20 degree soup! Hopefully this comment could aware the waiters to treat the customers more efficiently!

One star for the ok service and another star for the hip interior design and branding of this place. Zero for the quality of pho and the price. We ordered a house special pho that was described as - thick tomato and crab broth pho with tofu and steak. We also ordered a pan fried steak pho. From the previous reviews we had high hopes for this restaurant. However, we were really disappointed as soon as we taste the broth. The "thick tomato and crab broth" was nowhere to be found, other than a watery taste of seafood powerder broth. The steak pho was slightly better after we added more fish sauce and chilly oil but it was still far from what we expected. We had way better pho at other places before for a lower price. The location and interior design of this place is nice but if you are looking for some good hot pho I wouldn't recommend coming here.

This is the only review I think I've given in a long time. This is the worst Vietnamese restaurant I've ever eaten at, and I've been to probably more than 30. The food is flavorless, the noodles felt like linguini noodles out of an Italian cuisine. The broth tasted funny and there was barely even any meat at all considering I gotten a house special. Maybe this place is more of a Vietnamese "inspired" but no way in any shape or form an authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I posted this on my Instagram story and I never had more reactions to my story of people laughing and saying the food looks absolutely horrible and nothing like an authentic Vietnamese noodle bowl would look like. The waitor came up to me and asked if I enjoyed the food and I told her the same thing I wrote about, and she said that I apparently don't know what I'm talking about.

We enjoyed the meal here in Cambridge. The noodle soup was yummy, and service was great.

Bad service!!! Bad noodle!!! Bad steak!!! Only the meatball is ok.

Bad service!!! We ask for waitress several times but they never come. They only come when we are ordering or when we are checking. Bad noodle!!! Noodles are stick and it tastes raw. Only the meatball is ok. Never go again!

But sweet location and fancy presentation comes with a price - £8.50 for a pho bo that's slim on good beef, £11+ for duck curries. And where were the other pho and soup options? No Hue crepes? It was a slim menu with tempting descriptions but few real stand outs. The pho passed the test (just) and so did the (Thai-ish) duck curry. The Hanoi beer was delish and so was the red bean dessert. If you feel brave they do durian ice cream too. I was feeling wimpy. No, not the burger chain. Typical of so many places in England... high prices for okayish exotic food served in outstanding beautiful locations. This is a little gem in Leyton. What makes this Vietnamese restaurant stand outs, is that it has a slightly different added menu, it still makes the traditional food, but stuffed chicken wings? Saying that, the traditional dishes were just as splendid, full of mouth watering flavours, combining with the freshness and texture when taking that first bite. And there was no skimping on the portion sizes. I left that restaurant quite full. The venue itself was spacious and open. really cool modern and simple decorating, but it works. Even when the restaurant was full, still did not feel crowded, quite the opposite, relax with a buzz vibe. That was also due to the part of the waiters, who were very friendly, attentive, and on point. They have some really good lunch offers at the moment, so that really helps, but generally the cost is quite decent and value for money, comparing to other Vietnamese restaurants. Other than parking and its awkward location, one way narrow road, I would say this is a good place to eat.

Amazing food, service needs some work…read more 5 minutes from Highbury and Islington Tube and overground this Vietnamese restaurant had taken a tough area to do business, where the previous two business closed, to stay afloat. There is a very good reason. The food is amazingly good and what you expect from a great Vietnamese so I would advise that they do their best to keep the chef! The reason I say this is there were some unnecessary errors on the part of the waiting staff who were sadly a bit sloppy on a Monday night. First do not give a bill to a customer who has just arrived. Second do not start eating your food when the customer is still waiting for theirs at 10pm. However I do agree that you were very diplomatic and were quick to realise that a grave error had been made and then made the necessary changes to the bill. Thank you Andy, you saved the night for us and we will be coming to sample the food again. The restaurant is the standard hipster hangout with brick walls, artistic graffiti on walls and pipes hanging out so it looks unfinished. Lighting was good and tables were well placed to make you feel that there is enough space to enjoy a quick meal in peace. Vietnamese food always makes me think of street food. It is quick, light and filled with so much flavour. Our pork spring rolls had a crunchy outer layer with a sumptuous pork filling. The vegetable pancake went perfectly with the lettuce leaves and the sweet sauce. Sadly we waited a bit too long for the mains so had to have them when I got home. The Caramelised braised pork belly (Thit Kho) was just amazing. The fat just melted in my mouth and both the meat and the fat was infused with the rich flavour of the sauce. A good restaurant for a quick meal whether you are a couple or a large group. I highly recommend it even though I hope that the service is on par on the day you visit.
