Ealing

I've tried the Spitalfields branch before and this was just as good. We had some veggie spring rolls to start. These can be tricky to get right as they are fried and can be greasy. These were dry though and very tasty. You can get pork but honestly the veg is fine. I had the chicken breast Pho (which my son says is pronounced "fur"). It was brilliant, the broth is clean tasting with flavours of mint, lime etc. Not strong tasting but lovely all the same. It comes with either straight or round noodles. Also supplied are some e extra greens (mint etc) which you can dip into the dish. It is a complete meal on its own. My son had the spicier version which looked great. Service was tickity boo. All in all, although there are already so many south Asian places in. Ealing Pho is a welcome addition, however you pronounce it.

Me and my boyfriend are huge fans of vietnamese food and the Pho chain has never disappointed us,…read moreuntil today. We ordered via Deliveroo to eat dinner at home and the food arrived promptly as usual (thanks to Deliveroo). We got: 1x Nem Núóng: pork and lemongrass meatballs 1x Phò Bò Viên: beef stock with noodles and meatballs 1x Phò Tôm (Chicken Stock): chicken stock with noodles and tiger prawns 1x Nem Hài Sàn: crispy spring roll with pork crab and tiger prawn So what was wrong with our meal: the two stocks were supposed to be different but they were exactly the same(but tasty so we did not mind too much) the spring roll had a strong fishy smell and flavour, not the nice kind but the kind that screams if you eat me you're going to the hospital. to finish ,as cherry on the pie, one the pork meatballs had a couple of short, thick and curly hair inside...I did not dare to check the others... truly a disappointing dinner, we will eat there again as their standars were always really high wherever we went, but probably not from this branch, even if it's the closest for us.

There were some issues though: the beef was a bit chewy and there wasn't a huge amount of it (though I did leave plenty full) and the Sriracha was a brand I hadn't seen before and was a bit thin. The service was quick and the price was ok, no though certainly not cheap, but what do you expect in Chiswick. I would come back if I were in the mood for pho but I would have to be in the area already.

The food they serve is matter of fact, wholesome meals. No fancy frills. But good value for money quality and quantity wise. Caphe Guest is the sort of place you would pick food from if you are lazy to cook and need a quick fix for a hungry tumm. Recommend staying away from the woked egg noodles and fried noodles. The egg noodles are very very ok and although the fried noodles came with some good stir-fried chicken, the noodles basket had a stale oil stench. Must try - chicken curry and rice. Go for a cup of Jasmine tea to ease in the heavy food. Flavourful combination. Ambiance is cold. But this is made up for by the fantastic service. We have been there when they were almost closing and they have served us with sincerity and warmth. Each person who has served us so far has been excellent. Caphe Guest is a place for a quick fix. No date nights or laid-back dinners. Convenience and good food over luxury and comfort.

Some of the smoke exhaustion systems didn't work tonight so they only served a limited menu. That shouldn't have been a problem as we were going for some soups. I have ordered chicken wings followed by spicy beef soup. When the food was served the waiter accidentally spilled some of the red soup on my pants. At this point I was still willing to give them five star is the food was delicious. Unfortunately when I was about to finish my soup and put in the last spoonful into my mouth it contained a large piece of long hair that I had to take out of my mouth. I almost throw up. As much as I loved the food I cannot get the hair out of my head and would have a difficult time coming back and eating here again

My favourite starters are the Cha Giò (Egg rolls) and Banh Xéo, which are both socially acceptable to eat with your hands! You can also dip both in nuoc cham or peanut sauce for additional flavor. I also recommend the Pho Tai (steak), Pho Chin (brisket) or Com Tam Dac Biet (House special broken rice bowl). The broth for pho is always warm and I can't help myself but to drink all of the soup after I am done! If you need a drink, go for the Cà Phe Sua dá (Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk) - I swear it's nothing like you've ever tried before. They also have exotic Asian ice cream flavours, like Honey & Ginger, and Green tea. Pro tip: Head over for their lunch special before 5 PM on a weekday for a 2 course meal for £10!

The chicken spring roll with wood ear mushrooms was lovely. The optional chicken with the papaya salad, made it it a very filling dish. The beef pho had delicate slices of beef and a very fragrant pho. The cinnamon was very soothing. I have varieties of bottles of chilli sauces and pastes at home, but you can order extra sauces from them if you like. The food is good and they deliver home which is a huge advantage in the current weather, but I felt the lack of herbs in the pho (just a few spring onions) I'm not sure if this is because it was a takeaway/delivery order and you get more seasonings if you eat in. Food was very well packed and I appreciate the broth being packed completely separately. It means you can reheat the soup if you don't eat immediately and not end up with a soggy glutinous mess.

Leaving aside the treacherous beef pho, the vegetarian pho I had was oddly bitter, filled with too many green onions and the mushrooms didn't taste fresh. What I found very strange is when the pho was served, I asked why it didn't come with the standard fresh herbs and bean sprouts. The staff explained that since the restaurant's focus is barbecue, the pho dishes are simpler - however at their sister restaurants they do serve pho with all the side herbs etc. I don't understand why serve an incomplete dish which you even agree you know how it should be served and then say it's because it's not this shop's focus? There is much better vietnamese food in the city - I wouldn't be quick to recommend Mam or be returning myself soon.
