Mien tay is on a quieter stretch of Fulham Palace Road, just before Putney bridge. It's a small restaurant but wasn't busy for weekday lunch.
I tried the salt and pepper squid. This was paler than expected but very crunchy, flavoursome and moreish with a dressed cabbage garnish and the right amount of garlic and onions. Yum.
Then I had the special pho, with beef balls, brisket and sliced beef. The brisket was fatty and delicious, the other 2 were as they should be! The portion was huge, I couldn't finish it and that tells you something!! Garnishes included mint, basil, coriander, beansprouts, chilli, lime and there were spring and normal onions in the soup which was nice and meaty.
Also a shout out for the home-made lemonade, sweet, sour, icy cold and delicious.
Service was sweet, efficient and the food came very quickly. Great local Vietnamese and reasonable in price. The menu is quite big so I really look forward to trying their other dishes in the future. read more
