Service was attentive, ambience was elevated yet casual and the prices and portions are very fair. I had the Char Kuey Tiew noodle dish (that we call Drunken Noodles in the states) and it was delicious! The noodles were cooked to a perfect chewy texture, the sauce had a really nice medium spice level and the sweet sausage gave a great complexity. Looking forward to trying more things on their extensive menu.

Come hungry as food portions are on the larger side of life, however, if you're ordering sushi, it's quality over quantity. The menu consists of reasonable prices, and covers a few options; Sushi, Ramen, and Rice dishes. You can find vegetarian options, and the staff are very good about you having food allergies or intolerances - so just let them know upon ordering. I love the raw juices and the sake/fruit on the drinks menu. There's a decent selection of wines, so if you're not up for drinking in a pub, it's perfectly acceptable to grab a bottle and share here. My husband ordered the Tori Katsu curry (R4) for mains, the rainbow roll (M14) to share for starters, and I had a salmon box (V3) and sake sashimi (H18). In hindsight, I could have left the sashimi as I was actually rather full from the other two dishes. I highly recommend you pop in if you haven't already, delicious food!!!

please take know that the address should read as:…read more 8 Station Parade Uxbridge Road Ealing Common London W5 3LD also the map shown is indicating a wrong location! and the nearest tube station is ealing common and not kew gardens! our original plan was to try out sushi hiro nearby. unfortunately hiro was fully booked for the evening and we settled for kiraku. basically, kiraku builds itself as an izakaya restaurant. lot's of japanese patrons which is always a good sign. comprehensive menu with a bit of everything. the sashimi moriwase special was surprisingly very good. very fresh and nicely cut. the shoku carpaccio was a nice sashimi salad with garlic and olive oil. their kaki fry was well fried. the salmon porridge was simple and comforting. the grilled eggplant with cheese and miso was a little over salty. kushiyaki was ok but not outstanding. i like their crispy chicken skin. their beef tongue was nicely crunchy and chewy. the pork rolled with shiso leaf was slightly too porky in taste. the chicken ball was ordinary and so was the chicken. as for the chicken wing, one was burnt and the other was under cooked. maki wise, the ones we ordered were the kiraku special and soft shell crab. kiraku special had a generous serving of ikura but i couldnt taste any crispy salmon skin. the soft shell crab one was ordinary. in both, the rice grains seem too starchy and big. the biggest led down, food wise, has to be the special of the day which was a deep fried iberico pork. too oily outside and too dry inside. definitely not worth the money and long wait! for dessert we struggled to make the staff know what we wanted. bascially, 2 macha ice cream with azuki beans and 1 kuri ice cream with azuki beans. after going back and forth for 10 minutes, she finally understood what we wanted! sigh. my biggest complain for kiraku has to be their wait staff! very slow service and no promptness in refilling our tea despite many reminders to do so! also the food took ages to come. so much so that we even forgot we had ordered them. having said that, they must be doing well as they were packed by 8pm. i'll be back but i'll be more careful what i order in the future. Opening Hours: Tuesday - Sunday (Monday Closed) Lunch: 12 - 3pm (Last orders 2:30pm) Dinner: 6 - 11pm (Last orders 10pm)

Camembert and fried pork sushi roll?…read more Stop and imagine that for yourself. Gooey smelly French cheese, fried pork cutlet and a little bit of chutney all wrapped up in seaweed and rice and then served with the usual dish of soy sauce and wasabi. How do you think that combination will go? Hint, don't dip it in the soy/wasabi stuff. So I think from the start of this review you'll realise that Kiraku are not the traditional sushi sellers that nearby five-star Atari-Ya are. They do sell some good cuts of raw fish as sashimi, nigiri and donburi but they also do a whole lot more - salads, roasted tofu, crispy crab and the aforementioned cheese and pork maki. I'm pretty sure I still prefer the conservative sushi three doors down, especially as the mackerel at Kiraku is annoyingly the pickled kind. But Kiraku must be doing something good as it's very packed every night and usually with young Ealing Japanese having fun with the many sakes.

You can drizzle this and foam that, but all I want is a good meal, good service and not to feel like I've been ripped off. On the Mrs recommendation we popped in here for dinner one night. Not having a lot of experience with Thai food at the time (aside from a Thai curry here and there in random pubs - what's with that trend) so I was a bit sceptical. The restaurant is canteen style. Individual tables but with bright simple furniture and accent pieces on the walls. This place is busy, but not overbearingly so. They offer a take away service so there were lots of people ordering at the counter at the back to take away that Thai goodness. We started with Tempura, which was divine. Second best I've ever had after Feng Sushi on the South Bank. We also had a selection of veggie nibbles which were all really interesting. For mains I had Pad Thai and she a red Thai curry. Both were gorgeous. Large, generous portions and simply but pretty presentation. There was a lovely woman serving us. She spoke barely any English but was delightful, attentive and had a warm and welcoming smile. Safe to say she's always had good tips from us. The best thing of all was the bill. Starters, mains and drinks all at around £22. I may be cheap, but the food was not. All fantastic quality and amazing value.

After a long day at work, I trekked down the quiet side of Chiswick to Thames road for a late bite. I was seated upstairs amidst couples and groups of friends, next to a corner fireplace. From this vantage point I could see the entire upstairs dining area. Candles and roses are on every table and the decor is eclectic yet romantic - a love theme. Annie's shepherds pie (a special on my first visit) and a side of broccoli hit the spot. A few nights later I tried a more basic fish and chips, plus a pear, green bean, and shallot salad. The fish was flakey and battered perfectly - not the sloppy pub stuff you find elsewhere. The salad was refreshing. Finally, I've also enjoyed the halloumi burger. It's thick and well-executed. Substitute sweet potato fries or a vegetable for the chips if you want something a little more nutritious. Despite arriving just before closing time on most of my visits, the staff is always helpful and enthusiastic. Even on cool nights, the heat from the kitchen warms the upstairs, so be ready to de-layer if you're dressed for the cold. It's cozy! The love theme extends to your post-meal survey card, which reminds me of Valentine's cards kids give out in school. Maybe the love theme explains why I fell in love with Annie's.

I also recommend the Pho Tai (steak), Pho Chin (brisket) or Com Tam Dac Biet (House special broken rice bowl). The broth for pho is always warm and I can't help myself but to drink all of the soup after I am done! If you need a drink, go for the Cà Phe Sua dá (Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk) - I swear it's nothing like you've ever tried before. The restaurant itself is located on a side street in Ealing Broadway. It's a large glass-fronted restaurant with a bakery on the other side of a smart glass partition. A light, bright, airy room with comfy chairs and a smart set-up. Onto the food: my greedy friends and greedy self tried ALOT of food last night. The mixed dumplings were good, all fillings tasty and dumpling skin nicely chewy, these weren't pan-fried though which is my preference. Served with onions, sour cream and smoked bacon. Boar dumplings with creamy mushroom sauce was lovely, super-stuffed with boar meat. Mmmmmm. Steak tartare was small but price reflected this, beetroot carpaccio was beautifully presented and so were the herrings, all of these were lovely, good starters. The beetroot soup was excellent. I had the pork tenderloin for mains, oh gosh, it was so soft and tasty, I was so surprised!! Mash was good, needed more sauce though and the salad didn't match the rest of the plate, veg would have been better. My friend's salmon dish was tasty and beautifully presented, just not typically Polish in my opinion. But, I was here for the potato pancakes with mushroom sauce.....90% as good as the Polish cafe in Gdansk which stole my heart. We had 2 desserts which were lovely, tip: walk over to the bakery and pick your cake from the bakery, not just from the menu. Both were lovely. 2 soft drinks, 2 hot drinks and all this food came to £90. Excellent value, service, atmosphere and I loved the food. Afew tweaks would make this place great-cranberries on pierogi, sprouts and salad garnishes didn't work in most cases and they need to re-word the menu as it just didn't do the food justice. And they need to offer their dumplings pan-fried!! Overall a great option, I am so happy I found this place!!

That said, my warm tomato soup was delicious and comforting. (I don't believe it's gluten-free, as there are pieces of something resembling spätzle in it.) They were even nice enough to treat my husband's pierogies and my soup as one (affordable!) 2-course lunch. On the other side of the restaurant is the patisserie, with delicious-looking tarts behind the counter and small tables perfect for an espresso-and-pastry break.

Like the previous reviewer, I thought it sounded more like a fish and chips type of place. I asked the staff there who were happy to tell me that the family who owns the restaurant had a baby named Adam at the time they were opening the place and it's named after him. Cute! So let's talk food. I was keen to try North African cuisine so I overdosed a little on the appetisers. I started with the chorba which is tunisian soup with lamb, vegetables and pasta. I love me some soup so i was pretty happy with it and in chilly London weather it was hearty and comforting. Then we all tried the tuna brick which certainly makes an entrance. It's a beautifully presented brick of tuna and eggs wrapped in a huge fan of crispy filo pastry. I have to say, there was more egg than tuna in there and even though it was kind of magnificent to look at, it was disapppointing to eat. We also had the Doigts de Fatma (Fatma's fingers) because how could we not? They were basically a samosa/sambousa/pastry with stuff in it and were decent but pretty average. My friends had the mixed grill and I tried it but was not impressed at all. I wouldn't come here for the grill. For my main course I ordered the lamb tagine based on the previous reviewers recommendation. I probably shouldn't have though because it's stewed with prunes and sultanas, neither of which I like, and I really didn't like the overly sweet sauce at all. The lamb itself was very tenderly cooked, but I just couldn't get away from the sauce taste. If you like prunes and sweet sauces though you will probably like it just fine as they really did try to cook it to tender and spiced perfection. I think if I order a different stew/tagine next time I will probably be quite happy with their chefs skills. The service was slightly awkward and I wouldn't really say they were very friendly , but I think I would be willing to come and try it one more time based on how much effort their chef put into the tagine.
