    Chicken satay as our starter.

We ended up here as the nearby Korean restaurant was not available. The inside decor gives a genuine Thai feel as soon as you enter - veey much varying for the backpackers who have already backpacked through SE Asia. It was a Saturday afternoon yet we had to wait a while to be seated. The restaurant itself is huge, with a back patio, which in the summer would come in handy for large student parties and events. The menu offered some variety, and we decided to go for the 'guay tiew phad sie eiew' and the 'phad kana moo krob'. Both dishes were decent, fairly priced and came timely. However the waiters were not the most polite, and none of them Thai. With funky Thai music playing in the background we enjoyed our meal. The waiters came once to ask how the food was, then revisited us when we finished our meal. No big complaints. Ultimately the restaurant is in a decent location in Cambridge (by the river), offers spacious tables and decent food at a good price. Would visit if some other institutions are not available.

    Small Plates sat our front

We were quite pleasantly surprised by our meal here. We decided to go for the small plates (we love tapas) and they were very tasty. Beware, they're all fried (only downside). We sat out front overlooking the river. It was a Monday afternoon so it was quiet. This meant the service was good and the food came out quick. Using Taste Card makes places like this affordable and worth the money. For 2 pints of Singha, a cocktail and 8 dishes, we paid £45 (+£5 tip), we would not have been happy paying more. Overall, this chain restaurant came across as an independent and surprised us. We'll be back!

Loved that they have many vegetarian and vegan options. The food was very good and decent portion sizes.

Ordered on Deliveroo; part of the order was not delivered. Food was generally mediocre.

It's hard to go wrong with Thai food, but it's harder to get it truly right. This place falls somewhere in the middle.

Doesn't appear that this fine pub has any recent reviews - not to be overlooked though!…read more We looked around for something spicy on our recent visit to Cambridge (and had Indian the night prior), and The Wrestlers came up. Fairly buddy on a Thursday night but the bar host seated us. The menu has the usual curries and noodle dishes; order at the bar. Portions are generous, flavorful, and showed up quickly. A variety of drafts, wine, and soft drinks to complete the meal. A little noisy but manageable; enjoy!

The Wrestlers, where British pub atmosphere and Thai cuisine come together in Cambridge…read more It's located along a busy stretch of Newmarket Road, walkable by 20 minutes from the main part of town or accessible via car park near the superstore. The building itself functioned as a public house as early as the 1800s, but has since been updated in furnishings and food fare--Thai, to be exact. With the exception of pub Prawn Crackers, there are no starters, just mains. Straightforward and no frills. Find your seat, order at the bar. Each plate will cost between £9 and £11. We both got Pud Thai; one with vegetables and cashews and the other with beef. The portions are large and I had to pack the rest of mine in a takeaway box. As it's a pub, prepare for noise and difficulty finding seats around dinnertime. Luckily we came earlier for lunch. I didn't order a drink this time, but they have the standard selection of cask ales and cidres to go with your meals.
