The croquettes were the same, and the filling was bland and barely warm. The sauce for the croquettes was cold - and i mean straight out of the fridge cold. I had a pizza for my main, which while not horrible... was also not flavourful. My husband's calzone was okay, yet the salad that came with it was arranged into a smiley face. Would have been cute for a 5 year old, but it was just us two adults... very awkward. We then waited ages for the bill. We got tired of waiting and paid at the bar on our way out. I don't think we'll be returning.

The pizza is authentic, fresh and just tastes good. Not much more to say really. Also, it does pasta and I remember the spaghetti carbonara being especially good as well. Yeah it's just a lovely place. I mean it's an Italian restaurant that cooks good Italian food. What more do you want? I think the service is about average really. Not painfully long but not outstanding either. Reasonably priced as I recall, seeing as you are largely paying for the experience as well as the food. So yeah. 5/5

This place is amazing if you are in the countryside of UK. It is owned by Jaime Oliver's parents…read moreand is close to Cambridge and it is the perfect weekend-get away. Jaime visits this place sometimes since he lives near by. We stayed here two nights and we had several meals. The head chef was very nice, he met with us and we always appreciate that when we travel. One morning my taxi did not come to pick me up and Jaime's dad asked one of the chefs drive me to work, such a nice gesture for being a guest here. The food was amazing, we loved the home made traditional British steak pie served with mashed potatoes, the pork chop, seafood grill, beef liver and may other dishes we have tried. I have posted several food pictures to share the experience. The restaurant is old and charming, the ceiling was a little low, but rustic with a very nice homey ambiance. Lots of antique decorations displayed inside the restaurant. To check into the B&B you have to go to the restaurant bar, brilliant, I loved that. The rooms of the B&B are nice, good size, cozy and it truly makes you feel like you are in the British countryside. We even got invited for afternoon tea by the local cricket team. If you are in the area this place is a MUST.

Fairly buddy on a Thursday night but the bar host seated us. The menu has the usual curries and noodle dishes; order at the bar. Portions are generous, flavorful, and showed up quickly. A variety of drafts, wine, and soft drinks to complete the meal. A little noisy but manageable; enjoy!

The building itself functioned as a public house as early as the 1800s, but has since been updated in furnishings and food fare--Thai, to be exact. With the exception of pub Prawn Crackers, there are no starters, just mains. Straightforward and no frills. Find your seat, order at the bar. Each plate will cost between £9 and £11. We both got Pud Thai; one with vegetables and cashews and the other with beef. The portions are large and I had to pack the rest of mine in a takeaway box. As it's a pub, prepare for noise and difficulty finding seats around dinnertime. Luckily we came earlier for lunch. I didn't order a drink this time, but they have the standard selection of cask ales and cidres to go with your meals.

Lovely friendly staff. Food was delicious. I ordered the Cider cured trout filler with samphire, new potatoes, spinach and beurre blanc - outstanding. Fish cooked perfectly and the samphire added just the right amount of saltiness. For dessert, chocolate tart with homemade orange sorbet and jelly sours. Love the orange and chocolate combination, tasted just like a Terry's Chocolate Orange - yummy Huge garden which I'm sure is packed during nice weather. We did not book a table and were lucky! Make sure you make a reservation. Can't wait to go back.

Delicious flavours and textures - perfectly cooked duck with just enough hoisin so not to be overpowering. Fresh crisp slaw, the plum added a lovely bit of sweetness and the peanut some excellent crunch. The place itself is lovely - clean decor, modern looking and a beautiful rural setting. Staff were friendly and prompt. And it was busy enough to show that it's well respected locally, which is always a good sign. Overall a great experience and I will come here again if passing!

As I looked at the menu prior to coming here, I was oscillating whether I want the lobster risotto or the famous ribeye that they are known for. In retrospect, I should have gone for the rib-eye, which was the safer bet, but I already had steak for lunch, plus, was feeling adventurous and so went for the lobster instead. Oops, my bad... The lobster hardly stood out and the risotto was undercooked. The risotto was also very bland, which I actually appreciate because I like my foods bland rather than salty. I was proud of myself for finishing my dinner, but dessert was necessary to make up for my underwhelming experience. The molten chocolate lava cake wasn't amazing, just exactly what you would expect it to taste like. Again, I think Browns deserves another shot considering they are known for their rib-eye steak.
