Great and convenient location in the thick of central London, they are a massive chain and I think they get the carryover reservations from the nearby competitor Junmak39 which is often fully booked. That being said, make sure you have a reservation for either place! Take note that there is a smaller banchan restaurant and a larger Korean BBQ place almost next door to each other. In general the service was so-so and the portions were very small. The place was noisy but it's pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a chain Korean BBQ place. I came here after running the London Marathon so I could load up on some protein my muscles desperately needed! It's a small place so I highly recommend getting a reservation or you will likely be turned away with an intimidating wait time. The food is delicious but can get pricey since you have to pay for everything (kimchi is extra!). Definitely get the Pork Belly and the LA Rib (goes without saying that you should cook it yourself at your table. The Korean Style Fried Chicken was good, but could've had more flavor. The Gal Bi Tang tasted very authentic. Consider getting the All The Meat Set if you just want to sample all the meats they serve. I'm traveling this weekend in Cambridge, UK for work. I haven't been feeling well when I left home and by the time I got to the hotel, I was in need of some comfort food. I'm Korean-American therefore when traveling to countries outside the U.S., I look for my comfort food, Korean cuisine. Had great promise, the menu wasn't large but had enough variety to select items that could give me joy of comfort. Initially I ordered Budaejigae, not available...bummer. So I ordered beef rib soup and spicy pork & squid stir fry. The soup tasted good, but just appreciative that it soothed my sore throat. And the stir fry was tasty enough. Have to caveat that due to stuffed nose and sore throat my taste buds were off so can't comment on the actual taste. But here is why I rated the restaurant low, the basic fundamental of Korean food is rice and when I took a spoonful it was awful. The texture of rice was off... mushy and not fresh. The restaurant is busy enough, so don't understand the poor quality of rice. The restaurant is quiet despite blaring K-pop music. This is an authentic spot for good Korean food. You can do BBQ or table service. You will also get banchan included, not a big selection but better than most restaurants in London. Prices are reasonable and serves are big. We enjoyed sharing Korean fried chicken which came with a small salad and sauces. The dolsot bibimbap was a good size with all the standard toppings. No skimping on the meat either. Service could improve as it took awhile to get their attention even with several staff standing around. The experience was ruined before we even sat by the manager who was managing the queue. There had been a queue forming at the door, and we had waited around 30 minutes. At that point in time, another couple went straight to the front and the manager put them down on the list. For some reason, the manager lacked the common sense to check the queue, where many other groups had lined up for at least 20+ minutes in the cold rain. When we brought it up to him, he wasn't apologetic at all, and proceeded to sit the people who just got there in front of everyone that had been waiting patiently in line. I made a reservation via website. Got one right away verifying my email and all the steps that are required. I like it that the restaurant is pretty up to date with technology. Got a reservation for the BBQ grill. Came 1/2 hr early at 4:30pm for a 5pm reservation. Was allowed in early but was told 1.5 hrs for dine in. Told the Host that I only needed 1 hr max. I understand the time limit to accommodate the other diners. Online ordering through scanning QR code works great if you have good internet or WiFi on your phone. Took a minute for me to get my ordering in. The food was all a La carte. Food came out very quick. Very tasty and hits the spot for our tummy! Somehow I always end up at Leicester Square when I'm hungry. There are so many great food options in Soho, Chinatown and Covent Garden nearby, I'm glad Yori is here to add some more Korean flavour to the area. Food: I ordered soon tofu but was really nervous that it's not gonna turn out well. The waiter promised me it's going to be good("I'm Korean and I like it"), and he was right. Now, it's probably not as authentic as the ones you'd get from tofu house, but it's very tasty in its own way. The soup was boiling hot, spicy and flavourful. The rice were not too sticky nor too dry. They even had a few free appetizers. Others: The restaurant was very clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. Staff were all friendly. Even though it's right next to the touristy Leicester Square, the street it's on is actually very quiet. The price was reasonable too. I love Korean food and always go to Korean food everywhere both in the UK and when I go abroad. I must say Yori in London is very authentic, the bibimbap was amazing, came with complimentary side dishes (banchan) and had an extensive menu that was prices pretty ok for London. The staff were lovely, very attentive and the atmosphere was pretty casual but still good for a formal dinner. Yori is by far one of my favourite Korean places in the Uk so far. The downside is that its super busy, especially in the evenings so I highly recommend making a reservation. read more

I thought Yori was great! It's a small restaurant, so I wouldn't suggest coming here with a group. My husband and I squeezed into a little table, and while we were hoping to snag a table with a cooktop, I wasn't willing to wait an additional 30 minutes. Compared to other Korean BBQ places that I've been to, this restaurant was certainly not filled with smoke and I didn't leave feeling like I was sweating out meat. They served the Makgeolli out of a beautiful piece of ceramic pottery and server mixed it up so you didn't end up with all of the sediment during your last sip. I'm sure this is what is supposed to happen, but I've been to other restaurants that didn't do this. I could probably eat the bulgogi once a week for the rest of my life and be happy. The dduk bok gi was also delicious! It was a good amount of spicy and I thought the rice cakes had a great texture. We also had the kimchi jigae. Oh I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! So no, they didn't provide a ton of extra little side dishes like I've experienced at other places, but I think the taste of the food made up for it! Good for late night food and drinks but I would suggest avoiding peak hours if you're coming here with a group. Some tables have a cook top for the Korean barbecue option but it must be reserved in advance when you make your booking for dinner. My friends and I came around 9:30PM on a Saturday night and ordered from the regular a la carte menu. The kitchen normally closes at 10PM but the restaurant manager was really understanding and accommodating to take additional orders after the cut-off for us as he knew some of us came late (we were also already ordering a ton of soju if that helps). My favorite thing we ordered was the kimchi seafood pancake. I like how crispy and flavorful they make it. We also tried the beef bibimbap and chicken in their sweet & spicy sauce. Both were good but not the best I've had. They also don't provide complimentary ban chan like many other Korean restaurants. During my trip to London we visited Yori and ordered vegetable Bibimbap as a Lunch. It came with three side dishes. They were Kimchi, a seaweed salad and soybeans. The male waiters were friendly and fast. They informed us also that we have only 30 minutes to eat the food because they will have a break at 15:00. It was no problem for us at all. The Bibimbap tasted very good and my visit was perfect. That was the time, when I wanted to rate this place with 5/5 stars and recommend everyone to visit. Then, two days later we returned there in the evening to order vegetable Bibimbap again, but the waitress was not friendly and seemed not to have any interest to work that day. She seemed in a bad mood. Also we were sat at a very small table by a waiter, which wasn't comfortable this time. We gave tips to the waitress anyway in the hope to make her day better. We absolutely loved the food here! While we were traveling in London we were in the mood for some great Korean food. After searching and seeing the great options on the menu we decided to try Yori. For some reason not a lot of Korean restaurants in the area had bulgogi. My husband ordered the bulgogi and I ordered the bulgogi bimbap. We didn't make reservations so there was a bit of a wait but not more than 30 minutes. We were seated at a back table that had an odd bench underneath the booth. This was very uncomfortable because that meant my knees were literally the same height as the table. I had to have my knees bent and place my legs sort of side ways to fit under the table. Very uncomfortable! Once we were seated we were approached almost instantly to get a drink order. The staff were all very nice and we got our food relatively quickly. I will say that the size portions of the meals were very small. My husband doesn't normally need more food after a meal and he was left still needing more dinner. The prices were not exponentially high so it wasn't a huge deal but we would have hoped that we would get larger size portions. read more

I love it when non-Koreans take me to a Korean restaurant I haven't been to yet. I've been taking Korean language classes at the Korean Cultural Centre and decided to join the group of classmates to grab some dinner at Yori after class. I've walked by Panton st a number of times but completely missed this place. I heard it changed ownership around January of this year and it has greatly improved. When I walked in, I was surprised how big the place was. It was packed for a Wednesday night and majority of the people there were Korean - tells you it's gotta be good. They have a really extensive menu - I was so indecisive about what I wanted to eat but finally decided to have the spicy squid and pork over rice. It was really good. We had japchae to share as a starter but it came out after our mains - we didn't mind. I picked at some of the other dishes and the chicken bulgogi was really good. It was perfectly seasoned and so tender. The seafood stir fry udon was okay - probably something I wouldn't order next time. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other dishes since its so close to my office. Most of the dishes are under 10 pounds and the portions are pretty substantial. read more

This place is conveniently near, and I found out they were on the 2 for 1 offer on tastecard. I called up to book for 4 people and the lady who picked up the phone was so dismissive, her answers so curt, that I was quite taken aback. It wasn't even like she was a Korean having problem understanding English or speaking English. She sounded very competent, but she made it sound like I was not worth her trouble and why was I bothering her so early in the day? I booked 4 people for lunch, and mentioned the Taste Card offer. She said I needed 2 taste cards for 4 people. This isn't mentioned on the taste card website and so should not apply. I could not use 1 taste card for 2 people and the other 2 people pay full price. I must have 2 taste cards. The logic of this, I cannot understand. My overseas friend decided she didn't want to come here afterall, and I couldn't blame her. read more

The staff are friendly and attentive, the food was reasonable. Not as spicy as expected. The only bad points were missed lipstick marks on the wine glass, the lettuce not washed properly and a hair found in the bbq. However, when we informed the staff, they gave us a new wine glass, sent back the lettuce which was returned throughly washed, did not charge us for the beef and did not include the service charge in the bill. It could have been a very enjoyable experience, if these small mistakes did not happen. If you have a taste card, you can book ahead. Also they charge 50p per box to take away.
