After spending the whole day walking around and at the museum, we came here for dinner after trying to check out the Harry Potter platform. We ordered seafood pancake, chicken wings, bulgogi, bossam, and beef rib stew. Everything was good. My favorite was the bulgogi, it had a smoky charred taste to it. Wow, so happy we came here on our trip! Service was great - staff was very attentive and stopped by often to check on us/refill water. The drinks were so good and the food was tasty as well. We did KBBQ and ordered some other entrees as well. Big fan of the meats for the kbbq and the tofu soup. The bossam was also a good portion and had a ton of flavor. The rice cakes were ok - a little too sweet for my liking. We were a bit disappointed in the duck breast - was too tough/chewy and it could have been our fault as we weren't sure how to cook it. The beef tongue was our favorite and the wagyu platter! Prices and portions are reasonable. We made reservations here and were seated promptly as well. read more

We were walking around Kings Cross area wanting to try something different and came across this place. I wanted to try this as it had multiple vegetarian options. We were seated outside and were told that we would need to pay as soon as we ordered. We jokingly wondered if that was because folks might run away after their meal. Our food was delicious, service was fantastic and the location was perfect. Highly recommend this place specially for my vegetarian friends. read more

This restaurant was highly recommended to us, but we were underwhelmed by the flavors of the food here. We judge Korean places by their kimchi Jiggae and although the flavor was there, it was also not quite there. The ambiance here is nice, but I would characterize as a westernize Korean in taste. Wanted some Korean food ... found one nearest to the tube station. This is truly a Westernized version of Korean food. Portion are small, taste is meh... I ordered Budae Jigae... small bowl with a few pieces of sausages & 1 sliced of tofu.. my husband says d my budae Jigae was better, lacks the flavour & a watered down version. Hubby had bi bim bap. Hardly any protein for 18 pounds for both mains. Luckily we ordered the Kalbi bbq. A typical Korean restaurant would offer banchan, not this one., for a restaurant named Kimchee, the only kimchee I saw was in the Budae Jigae! That's it, this restaurant will not survive in N. Nov 2017- First visit to the UK. Our first meal in London was at Kimchee with a party of about 18. I'm happy they were able to accommodate our large party and seat us downstairs where it was private. I eat Korean food at least once a week. Hawai'i has tons of Korean take-out places as well as fancy sit-down restaurants. Kimchee is definitely a fancy sit-down restaurant. I've also been to South Korea and eaten Korean food there. What surprised me at Kimchee was that there were no side dishes (banchan) to accompany our entrees. What surprised me even more was that a bowl of rice was an added charge! I thought rice comes standard with any Asian meal?? I don't know if that's a thing here in the UK or Europe in general? I was also disappointed that they only had the plain Soju and no other flavors available. Service overall was slow but they did try their best to make sure we had what we needed/requested. Restrooms are very clean. They also have Wifi. Food overall tasted great. Honestly though I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again. read more

Decided to pop in for a good meal after a long day of traveling. No hostess but was seated by a friendly staff member. Waited a solid 10min until I was able to flag someone to take my order. The food didn't take long to arrive and yes indeed tasty. A waitress kept apologizing for delay of taking order. No biggy, least food came timely. Overall good atmosphere and good food. read more

They don't seem to care to tend to you if you're sitting alone. I had to make eye contact with several people before they actually came over to help me. I tried gaining their attention but they just didn't seem to see me for some reason. Food didn't taste that great and for a nice looking place like that, it's very disappointing that their food doesn't taste up to par, especially for the price I paid for everything. Their drinks were okay, but the soup was honestly not the greatest, but tasted okay. Everything was just too pricey for what it is. It's good they have a wide selection on their menu, but all the food I would say is not a traditional Korean dish I would say. Portion was a good size though read more

saw this place on a list of best korean spots in london. was craving jjamppong really badly so i checked it out w my boyfriend and ordered a couple of things. as a korean person eating at what they call an "authentic" korean restaurant i had... lots of thoughts. i will say right off the bat that this is not ur restaurant if u are looking for authenticity. i did not see a single asian face dining there which shouldve been a clue but we were hungry so we gave it a chance. the food certainly... is food, but it's definitely not authentic and anything close to what i was craving. green breeze: this was a mocktail with green tea and some fruits, it tasted alright, wasn't my style and that's okay but it was really grainy which made it worse chicken mandu: this was the only redeeming thing we tried. was actually very good but they gave us only 4 pieces(they are korean dumplings) but charged 9 pounds which comes down to 2.25 pounds per dumpling. which is absolutely bonkers ttukbokki: this wasnt too bad either but i will note that sauce was a lot more peppery than it shouldve been. it didn't taste bad though, i actually enjoyed the pepper it just isnt authentic. they also put a lot of veggies in it which is fine,,, if veggies were the star of the dish. rice cakes and fish cakes were scarce when they should be the star of the dish, but it was nearly 60% cabbage and onions galbitang: my boyfriend ordered this and i tried some. this was probably the most authentic tasting one. my only note was that the beef definitely was not nearly as soft as it should be... usually the meat is slow cooked in the broth for hours and hours to achieve a melt-in-your-mouth texture. truth be told, for a good galbitang you should not have to chew the meat it should just melt in ur mouth, but the beef was tougher than i had hoped. otherwise, my boyfriend said he enjoyed it a lot. jjamppong: i was desperately craving this dish so what i got was... very underwhelming to say the least. to start, the broth tastes nothing like jjamppong broth and was grainy which wasn't great. they used udon noodles instead of jjamppong noodles which was disappointing because the chewiness of jjamppong noodles really make the dish, and they put a bunch of vegetables that were inauthentic to the dish. i don't hate veggies but there were a lot of bell peppers and jalapenos which was strange because the usual veggies are cabbage, onions, maybe the occasional carrots. overall just not at all what i was looking for not to mention when we ordered i pronounced the dishes the way they should be pronounced and the waiter kept asking me to point it out on the menu instead because he couldn't understand me which was borderline offensive, you would think if you worked at a korean restaurant you would at least be able to pronounce the dishes correctly. some other notes: i found it absolutely insane that rice, kimchi, as well as banchan were all extra charges. kimchi, rice, and banchan is always free at every korean restaurant ive been to. also while i didn't have the table bbq, i browsed the menu before coming to the restaurant and absolutely none of it is actual korean bbq. most of it is wagyu(which is still delicious but japanese) or iberico pork(spanish). no bulgogi, no galbi, no samgyeopsal. im sure it's still delicious, just not korean anyway that's my piece. the singular star is for the ambience but everything else was just underwhelming. wasn't for me, definitely gentrified for nonkoreans to enjoy which is fine, just not what i was looking for. im sure if i took my korean parents here they would be physically angry at the quality of the dishes read more

I knew something was wrong when I saw that no one in the kitchen was korean. Majority of customers were non Koreans too. Fried chicken was okay! Kimchee stew and yookgejang lacked flavor and yookgejang had no bean sprouts in it but instead they used radish which is a no no. Kimchee in Kimchee stew was not fermented enough. Galbi also did not taste like galbi. Maybe it didn't marinate enough but it just didn't taste like galbi. Beef tongue was also so tough we could not chew through it. The only decent dish was the bossam. Only reason I give three stars is because they allowed us to wait almost 30 minutes for our friends at the table and were nice about it. read more

we are very disappointed by the waitress, we have left two brand new cardboard (for drawing) on our seat, and remembered really quick after we left the store, within 5 mins, the cardboard were bent and thrown into the garbage, and when we ask the waitress for the stuff she ignored us, and then they just said "we are sorry for that", but we paid for these boards. For the dish, the taste is ok, but really not much for each dish and price. Don't want to come back again. read more

The food here is INCREDIBLE!! It is reasonably priced for the great quality and so many delicious options to choose from. I recommend the Kimchee Fried Rice as it is the owners favorite and packed with flavor. The 4 stars comes from them telling us we had a 20 minute wait and then having to wait for over an hour. The service was also slow and we had to ask multiple people for the same thing because whoever we would tell wouldn't ever come back. read more

The bibimbap was good, the gochujang sauce was sweet, tangy and spicy and the tofu was nicely seasoned. Overall, good value for money, and recommend it if you're looking for a nice Korean meal, however it might not be super traditional, certainly the kimchi was missing, I think it has to be ordered separately. The King Cross branch was a bit understaffed, but you can see they are trying their hardest to take care of customers. read more

nice wholesone taste to the seafood jeon (according to my wife); the ttokpoki was quite delicious as well (according to the family!) mandoo was enjoyed by our children as the kimchee pancake, and boneless soy sauce wings. the mini-buns were just that, mini but oh so good (katsu chicken for our son/portobello mushroom for me). the japchae was also so good but a very small portion. overall a nice break to have Korean food away from home. read more

The decor and atmosphere are amazing, down to the bathroom which is easily one of the top 5 bathrooms I've ever used in my entire life. The customer service was nice and the food came out relatively quickly. The starters: spicy calamari (regular tempura fired calamari with swirls of spicy sauce) and dumplings. The dumplings were amazing! The calamari batter was crispy, light, though a bit flavorless. The calamari itself was cooked perfectly. I ordered a bibimbap for my meal after being assured by our server that it gets the crunchy rice crust that happens between the food and the bowl. This was not the case. It really missed out on the textural benefits of this layer. If you do order it, ask for extra chili sauce because the dish could be slightly bland without it. Such an amazing gorgeous restaurant. Such detail was placed into where to eat to the toilet. The presentation of your meal is beautifully simple woodboxes that elevate your bowl. I've eaten *a lot* of Korean BBQ from multiple countries. While I wouldn't say this was in my top five, it was good. I think the bibimbap flavor and toppings we're good, the execution of the dish was lacking. The rice didn't crisp in the stone bowl. The bulgogi was bland and a small portion. The mandu/dumplings were tasty. The calamari was bland with a mild spice sauce that didn't enhance the dish. I had the lychee love cocktail was bland for having such traditionally strong flavored ingredients. Staff is unhelpful with allergies, no flexibility, they forgot out food order, asked for IDs (never had this in a restaurant before), could not make any amendments even to a cocktail, I could not pay in cash. We really didn't know what to expect. I have eaten in Korean restaurants before but it was never a favourite. The hostess was extraordinary. We did not have a reservation and she went out of her way to make sure we stayed at her restaurant. After reasonable wait we were seated. The ambiance is very eclectic but pleasant. All four meals were excellent. I had a glass noodle beef vegetable appetizer that was probably the best I've ever had. My husband's half chicken (he said) was extraordinary. Visiting from a place with much better Korean food, this place didn't impress. For example their galbi and other BBQ dishes were the exact opposite of authentic Korean fare, and were TINY in portion and I don't think it's marinated in the same style at all. I think my Korean friends would be straight up mad to eat here. read more
