    Bulgogi Beef Bibimbop

There wasn't much available on the lunch menu. I think it's partly because the economy is just starting to pick up again and restaurants are finally starting to open up their doors. But they did have a wide variety to pick from. I'm sure the dinner menu has more options as the lunch menu didn't have any stews. Anyways, the service is pretty good and they're very prompt with the orders. Tip is already included which I didn't know was even a thing. The bibimbop was spot on. I honestly couldn't find a thing that I didn't enjoy about the dish. It came out pipping hot. Almost near burnt my tongue by my own greediness. It also comes with a side of hot sauce for all those to like it spicy. I will definitely return just to try the dinner menu

One of the best meals we had in London. Would definitely recommend the short rib. The egg on the kimchi fried rice was cooked perfectly. Cannot find enough good things to say. If you want to sit outside, I would try to make a reservation. There's mostly classic Korean fare with some more modern fusion items. I wouldn't say it's completely authentic but it has a good selection of new and old dishes.

This was a really disappointing evening. I booked this for a friends birthday as I had been before and i love Korean food. However they have now decided they have decided they are a night club with overpriced food. The "music" was so loud we had to mime to the waiters. The piece of fish was £27! Totally not with it

My Pret coffee wrapped in tissues because it offended "the manager"

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE (Very rude staff and poor management)! Earlier today I've had the worst dining experience in the heart of central London! We've called and booked a table at Jinju for a business lunch. I arrived with a Pret coffee in my hand that I just bought after my previous meeting. I greeted my party, sat down and we got to order food straightaway. Suddenly another waiter (Poe) storms to the table and demanded me to very rudely to drink up my coffee, hide the cup or put it on the floor as it was from another brand! I've asked to speak with his manager, where he walked off around 2 seconds later would come to the table to tell us the manager isn't available to speak to us, he said that I either drink the coffee or in his own words (there is the door) and stormed off again. My party stood up straight away and asked another waiter to speak to the manager. The manager came out and more or less repeated the waiter's words and says it is not in their policy to drink another brand's coffee in their premises and yet not apologised for his staff behaviour and kept delivering poor customer service. No only did we waste 15 minutes of our lunch hour chatting to "the manager", the manager did not care at all about how us as a customer would feel in this situation, or are about us making a complaint and not even trying to make our visit pleasant at least. His name is Quang and has an absolutely ZERO customer experience and service! We've ordered food worth of more than £60 for lunch between us. Before the food arrived, we just stood up and walked off as it was a very stressful and unpleasant experience! I am extremely disappointed with the customer service in this restaurant and I would like to know this can be resolved.

I booked Jinjuu for a celebration family dinner after postgraduate graduation hoping that they could accommodate 5pp and wouldn't be too noisy or overwhelmed with customers. I was not disappointed! We were seated promptly on the lower level ahead of our reservation time. We opted for noons drinks---dry January!---but did indulge in the tofu lollipops and 2 kinds of dumplings. The truffle/mushroom dumplings were the crowd pleaser, but the pork and beef also yummy. In terms of main dishes: 3 of 5 guests at the table ordered bibimbap variations. The beef was incredibly tender and flavorful. All of them came topped with a lotus chip, which was aa nice touch. One in our party ordered the beef jap chae as a main; it is perhaps best portioned for those with a smaller appetite in mind. And the final guest at our table ordered the miso sea bass, which the waitress cautioned would be small. A side of broccoli to complement, no sweat! Everyone left happy and full. The total tab (no drinks) came in around £115. It was a great spot for a small family celebration, and we certainly recommend it to others on the hunt for Korean food in Soho.

An interesting twist to Korean food. We ordered: Sae woo pops Ya xgae mandoo Korean fried tofu burger Kimchee fried rice Overall, pricey but enjoyable. There was a lot I wanted to order but this was my second dinner. I kept stopping by other joints on my way here; I wish I didn't so I could have ordered more! The menu is very interesting. I recommend coming on an empty stomach. The staff wasn't very attentive; it took forever to get their attention. Free wifi! Lots of seating.

First favorite restaurant in London. Stopped here after searching for something different. This is it. Think Korean fused with outher cuisines. Service was 6 out of 5 stars, food was 5 stars, and the price was fairly decent (expected). Bonus for having a kids menu with adventurous options for kids such as Bibimbap, Korean kids soft drinks, free special character chopsticks for the kids, a large menu of cocktails, wines, sojus, and beer. Our entire family loved it. My wife ordered the beef Bibimbap, and I had the kimchi Bibimbap. We split a soju as it can be strong, but later we switched to me having the top shelf shots and my wife had lychee infused soju. So good! We booked on OpenTable and we're seated immediately. What really stands out is the diversity of cross-cuisine food combinations such as Korean Tacos. We would definitely come here again.

What a cool little bar in soho! There's so many pubs around but we decided to venture out and go to Jinjuu! The decor is very modern and hip. It's a great place for drinks with friends. Everyone got something different but the highlights were the Ring Leader (drink of the month) and the Kimchi Mary (Korean twist of the Bloody Mary). It's a bit pricey but stop by here for a few drinks.

Excellent night out in the Carnaby Street area of London at this Korean restaurant. We were a group of 5 and were entertained to a feast of flavoursome food ranging from Kimchi Carnitas Fries, tuna tacos, Mandoo (steamed meat dumplings) and the very tasty Bulgogi beef skewers. We ate towards the back of the top floor seating area at a 'sociable' table and were further entertained and assisted by our waiter Kelvin throughout our stay. The food is very tasty and at about £50 pp service and VAT included, including 2 bottles of wine and a couple of soft drinks not bad value for money. I would definitely go back again.

The food and the cocktails were amazing! They really put interesting and creatives spins on their drinks. I got a citron drink that was absolutely fantastic. We also got their Korean fried chicken that was perfectly crispy and had amazing sauces to accompany it. We also got the bulgogi bimbimbap and it was a good portion size. The ambiance was great and the restaurant was gorgeous. I really recommend it!

We had reservations to eat at Jinjuu after catching a play at the Gielgud theatre. Jinjuu is one of those fusion style restaurants opened by a celebrity chef, and I really enjoyed my experience there! We ordered the Pork Belly Tacos, Pork Mandoo, Bulgolgi Sliders, and the fried chicken thighs to split between two people. My personal favorites were the Pork Belly Tacos, they were fantastic! The Bulgolgi Sliders were delicious as well. The fried chicken was actually my least favorite dish (I found it to be a bit too salty in taste, which is strange because it is supposed to be their signature item). For drinks, I had the Spiced Kimchi Mary, and I could definitely taste the kimchi. It was a unique twist on the typical Bloody Mary, and I quite liked it. Atmosphere inside Jinjuu was pretty trendy, with plenty of young 20s/30s people out for food and drinks on a weekend evening. Service was attentive, and the server did a good job providing recommendations on what to order. Will definitely return to Jinjuu in the future for a night out for drinks with the girlfriend and/or friends!

Do it. I know there are a lot of options nearby. But just do it. Amazing food, friendly staff, lively ambiance with good music. Great vibes inside and out and the food was super tasty. We were visiting from the San Francisco Bay Area and we know good Korean food. This was definitely up there!

YES. Yes. Yes. Yes. Finally! Jin Juu, you have been in my list for oh so long and wow was it worth the wait! I had tried to book a table for 2 online but they said they were fully booked, I thought sod it, I'm going anyway - I will get a table. My friend and I arrived around 7 o'clock and we were seated straight away (mini fist pump) and right by the open window - it was a lovely evening. We were very happy. The waiter greeted us immediately with a welcoming smile and some fresh water. As my friend and I hadn't seen each other for a while we were mattering away for a while - the waiter came over a couple of times to ask for our order which wasn't a problem and we eventually made a decision and ordered. I have to say that throughout the evening the waiting staff were very friendly and attentive and it was an overall lovely experience - even when it was becoming a little cold, they quickly whacked on the heaters and made sure we were comfortable! Now to the food, it's advertised as Korean street food - if they are selling this on the streets inoh the food. For starters we ordered the mandoo dumplings (beef and pork) and the Kimchi Arancini - the food came at a good speed and was presented beautifully. The dumplings were mouth-wateringly wonderful - truly meaty in the centre and wrapped in a tasty and slippery casing. Quite difficult to eat with the mental chop sticks but I got there. Scrumptious. The kimchi balls too were amazing. A soft rice and cheesy centre and coated in bread crumbs - just delicious bites of goodness. Next, the mains. We both opted for the Jap Chae (sweet potatoe noodles) - I had prawns and my friend had the beef. The food once again was presented beautifully and served with fresh veg. The prawns were cooked beautifully and there were LOTS of them. I also tried the beef and it was tender and very flavoursome. The noodles too were delicious and you tasted the freshness in every mouthful!! What a meal and what an experience! Truly fantastic and I will be back to try more of their delicious menu!!

I'm still waiting for the day the sides are free like in America but I'm not gonna hold my breath. The service was a bit slow... We got sat down immediately but took them awhile to ask us for our drink order. Also, one waitress had tripped and spilled rice on two separate occasions when we were there. Maybe it was her first day? The galbi that I'm used to having is kinda char grilled and it wasn't cooked this way. Also, I'm used to having a bone in the meat but again it was missing. The bulgogi was the same. Pretty mediocre. We started with the Kim chi sampler platter and jap chae and the rice clear soup and sukjul namul. The best out of the three is the jap chae. Full of flavor, very tasty, and cooked to perfection. The soup was bland. The free dessert consisted of a slice of orange and honeydew. There is free wifi but the password is on a laminated piece of a4 and the text is like 30pt. A bit amusing actually. I would recommend going to Tottenham court road instead of here.

K, K Place, I really wanted to like you but, in the end, you were just (O)K…read more We'd read some things about how K Place was doing an AYCE Korean BBQ option. It's so rare in London that we thought we should definitely give it a try. We made a reservation for Friday night easily and they were flexible when we were running late. When we arrived, we headed down the stairs to the basement where the restaurant was. It isn't a huge place, with seating for about 30-40. Not all of the tables have grills, but the vast majority do. We were seated near the entrance and heard another group come in for karaoke and were directed out of the restaurant, so if you're looking for dinner and karaoke all in one - K Place could be a great option! After having a look at the menu, we decided to go with Set B Buffet, which was described as 10 course buffet with unlimited meats (£28.99). They also have a Set C with unlimited meats and seafood for £33.99. Soon after ordering, the dishes started to arrive. Banchan arrived first with 4 dishes: kimchi, radish kimchi, beansprouts, and cucumbers(?!). Odd. The cucumbers weren't the usual pickled cucumbers (oijangajji) but just some slices of raw cucumber. Maybe they had just run out of their pickles for the day? But we would have preferred them not providing this super random banchan. All the banchan were OK, but a bit bland. Next came the egg roll, dakdoritang (chicken and potato spicy stew) and mackerel. Everything was fine, though the dakdoritang was a bit bland as was the egg roll. The mackerel was overcooked. The kimchi pancake was standard, not the best I've ever had but not the worst - pretty middle of the road. The steamed mussels was probably the highlight. Fresh and sweet, cooked well in their own juices and a sprinkling of green onion. We then received a platter of 9 different meats - it was easy to tell that these weren't the highest quality. Yes, I know I'm at an AYCE place but I've had great quality AYCE meat at Korean BBQ places (Looking at you, LA). Spicy pork, (fatty) chicken, pork belly, rib eye, chuck, etc. all super unmemorable and pretty bland. At least the service was good and our server came over to turn over the meats and cut them for us. They gave us a small platter of some vegetables to grill as well as lettuce to wrap the meat in. There was also a huge container of ssamjang, which I always slather into my lettuce wraps so that was a plus as well. We could have ordered more meat since we weren't stuffed but found it all just mediocre and decided that we didn't want the extra calories for such blah food. Sigh, I had high hopes but I think I'll just wait until I'm back in LA to have the real deal. Additionally, at this price point, I expected a bit more. Maybe due to it being in the City, they charge more? The hunt for good AYCE Korean BBQ in London continues.

It's on the…read moretastecard which is how I found it so you can get some money off your bill and if you select the 10 course set menu you really get enough food to be stuffed by the end. As I found out, when you go for Korean barbecue you have the actual barbecue in the middle of your table so you can cook your own meat and veggies just like you want them. But before you get to that there is an array of delicious starters and sides that are put in your table, meats, fish, seafood, vegetables, rice and soups. Once you go through most of those, you meats of choice are brought out and the barbecue is turned heated up. You can then start cooking your steaks using the special wooden cutlery and cut them up with a pair or scissors. This way you can be sure you have everything as soon as it's done and nothing gets cold. We decided to go with the set menu that offers 3 types of meat per person but if you really want to push your limits or have not eater for days there's an unlimited meat option too. If you pick that one, I salute you. Anyway, I definitely enjoyed everything I tried and look forward to going back soon. I recommend going there with a group as that would be great fun and you can order a greater variety of foods. Either way it's worth putting it in your schedule.

After looking at the windows of several Korean restaurants on Burlington Road, I settled on Me You as having the best local reviews up in the window. The atmosphere was like a local family restaurant with no rush to turn tables over. Although the waitresses didn't speak good English, I was eventually able to get the advice I was seeking on the food. It helped that the menu had a picture of every dish available. I was also impressed that the waitress taking my order gently suggested that 3 dishes might be too much for even a greedy pig like me! And she was right as the portions were big. I started with the Haemul Pajeon (Korean Seafood Pancake). This was lovely - crispy on the outside with small bits of seafood and spring onion. I also had a bowl of seafood with noodles in a spicy soup - I think it was called koppongi. I was startled to find not just a mussel in its shell but also whelks still in their shell in the soup - proves that the seafood was fresh and not frozen! The soup was spicy enough to wake up the tastebuds I'm starting to get a feel for Korean food after a few visits to Korean restaurants. Their food philosophy is the opposite to the Japanese, which rely on few flavours and ingredients but each flavour is distinct and obvious. On the other hand, Korean food is a whole melange of everything thrown together - meat, seafood, vegetables, flavourings. Even bibimbap, which is served with all the ingredients in separate piles in the bowl, must be all mixed together and coalesced before you tuck in. I enjoyed my visit here and have spotted a few dishes I would like to return and try.

Since moving to London, I had been having great difficulty finding authentic Asian cuisines (Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, etc.). After being let down at Jee Cee Neh on the same block, I decided to give You Me a try, given the favourable reviews. PROS - Very comfortable, intimate and inviting space. Greeted warmly when we stepped in and immediately had a table cleaned up for us. The menu had pictures for EACH item, making the process of deciding which item to get extremely hard because well shit, I wanted everything. My date and I finally narrowed it down to an order of the large dumplings, spicy black bean sauce with noodles and the oxtail soup. We were blown away. The "large dumplings" weren't really "dumplings" per se, but actually hot fluffy buns filled with a generous amount of yummy pork and veggie filling, served with an equally yummy (soy sauce/vinegar/hint of red pepper) dipping sauce. It was such a good deal as well for those suckers. For about £6, you get 6 large hot and fluffy buns. That alone could be a meal but that was filed under "appetizers" in their menu. The spicy black bean noodles was done perfectly, I don't know what else to say about that except the noodles were fresh and the sauce was just so freaking good. The oxtail soup was not bland, but just a sip of it will let you know they have stewed it for a long time. The soup was no instant bouillon type of nonsense. It was the real deal. The soup was served with complimentary Korean rice. Another HUGE PRO - Complimentary refills on your BAN CHAN. That's right, not only did we get more banchan (the side dishes they serve you to refresh your palate) here than at Jee Cee Neh, they immediately restocked our banchan, free of charge when we ran out. How awesome is that? That alone would make me come back to try their dishes but will everything going to fabulously, I would be crazy NOT to go back. CONS - Absolutely none. I was so pleased with the quick service, the amazing food for great prices, and the portions (above average!). Shoot, even the bathrooms were really clean. Everything was so great. POINTERS - You Me kicks Jee Cee Neh's hind quarters out of the bush ..........yup. Pictures to come!
