I'd review this place 10 times over if I could. First time in and we will definitely be back regularly, especially with the weather getting colder. I didn't see online ordering so I stopped in to see if I could get it to go. The couple working in there were so sweet. We had to wait in the car for about 10 minutes before they called to say the food was ready. They had a line out the door, so I was surprised with how quick they were getting food out. We got the egg rolls, beef pho & meatball pho. Broth was clear, noodles cooked perfectly, and the flavor was on point. They gave us plenty of sauces to add in as well. The egg rolls were also 10/10. Unfortunately they were out of the summer rolls for the night, but those are next on my list to try. Don't be deterred by its quaint size. It's a classic mom & pop shop and exactly the type of place I love to support. Definitely give it a try!! read more

A Homey food experience! This restaurant offers a pleasant dining experience. The open kitchen provides you with a glimpse of how the food in front of was made. This also plays into the fresh made to order experience. I had a very satisfying beef pho and an equally delicious chicken fried rice dish. A Lawrence gem! Absolutely delicious chicken and veggie pho. The veggie + tofu pho does not skimp on the vegetable & tofu. Takeout comes thoughtfully packed, with the noodles and broth in separate containers, along with the fresh bean sprouts, etc, on the side. Reasonable pricing for everything, especially considering the generous portion sizes. Also love the summer rolls, shrimp fried rice, and drunken noodles. The best Pad Thai in Lawrence. Best Pho I've ever had in my entire life, but wanted to try something different this particular visit. We also got the Sliced Beef Egg Drop Soup alongside Crab Rangoon and Fried Gyoza. The service is impeccable and being able to watch the magic happen because of the kitchen is really special. This is a hidden gem in Lawrence that you must try if you love Vietnamese food. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall but the flavor does not fall short. The vibe is cozy and quaint with the staff being extra welcoming as well. Overall the restaurant seats about 30 people so be prepared to wait for Sesti in if you go during busy hours. The food is amazing! Very authentic and flavorful. The menu is also huge with a wide variety of vegetarian options. I highly recommend the chicken pho, pad Thai and crab rangoons. Steve & Anna are great hosts. You feel like dining at a family member's house. Food is great and I was in a rush, but they were so accommodating for my to-go request. Even at last minute, I asked for Thai tea and it was provided in a jiffy. Would love to get to know them more next time I could sit down and enjoy their famous pho. I decided to try this place out as I had a craving for Pho. I looked at the google reviews for this place and saw it had good ones. So I placed an order for pickup. When I got my food which was a large chicken pho and chicken fried rice. I saw the packages were small, but thought okay maybe the toppings for the pho in one of the small containers. I get home and opened up Everything to o pool it it together, explain to me why they put all the broth chicken and toppings in one small container and my noodles were in a styrofoam cup and they were over cooked. I was very disappointed and they did not give me any jalapeños or cilantro in the broth. I wasted $30 and the fried rice was also over cooked. This was by far the worst pho I ever had. Do not eat here if you have high expectations of pho. read more

Generous portions and terrific pho broth -- really hit the spot. We had initially gone in for Bánh mì, but ended up getting both Szechuan-style bean curd (very spicy -- just right!) and big bowls of steaming pho instead. The owners, Anna and Steve, couldn't have been more polite. We're seldom in "Larry Town," but really enjoyed our last meal here in this delightful little hole in the wall. Yum! read more

This place was really small and you can miss it if you don't know the area. I'd say there was probably enough room for 20 people. It was me and two friends and luckily there was one table available. I ordered a #7 pho tai ($7.07 total) and sat down. It was only a few minutes before our food was ready. The pho here was okay at best because the broth didn't have that much flavor. In addition, the meat was a little overcooked unlike most places where you'd have to soak the raw meat in the hot broth. I'm from the Bay Area so I've had a lot of pho in the past and I know when something is off about the pho. For what it's worth, the pho was good for the area considering there weren't a lot of other pho places around Lawrence, KS. read more

Finally made it over here and now I have to figure out delivery. Top five Asian places for us. Best Singapore noodles in town. Spicy and full of flavor. We got these large so we had some to take home. The Pho is a delicious comfort Pho. At another place in town, it's more complicated, comes with add-ins, etc. This is more like a chicken noodle soup version of Pho. Broth is savory. Beef and meatballs were good. Next time I have a cold, I'm ordering this, though I won't wait until then! I want to try the other meats too. Also had them Vietnamese egg rolls and the dumplings. Both were good and worth ordering. In general it's not a fancy place but it is cozy and clean. The owner is very friendly, helps with the menu if you need it. She boxed up our leftovers for us. They do a lot of take out and delivery. Menu is pretty big. Looking forward to trying some other items. read more

My friend and I were stopping in Lawrence for a little day trip and decided to try a new place. It's literally the BEST Vietnamese restaurant that I've found. The employees are so friendly, addressing regulars by their first names, and the whole environment is so homey and so wonderful. The food was top tier and prices are SO reasonable. Craving some Pho on a rainy day and happened to be in Lawrence. Found this little dive and am not disappointed. We were lucky enough to get the last open table - unfortunately it was near the front door which created a lot of cold air upon us. It also meant that the poor souls that came in after us were standing around watching us eat while waiting for a hostess and a table to open up. slightly annoying, but it kept us on our best table manners. lol. We did have a bit of a wait between the waiter giving us a run down of the menu and availability of items and his return to take our order, but no fault of his since everyone we saw was hustling and multitasking to take care of an overflow crowd. The food came out fairly quickly upon ordering. I ordered a side salad and the lasagna, my wife ordered the Jalapeño Cornbread Crab Cakes. My side salad was generous in its assortment of greens and veggies with cheese and croutons, but was lacking in dressing. I would have asked for an additional side cup, but the waiter was already overloaded. My wifes crab cakes with remoulade were very tasty from the samples that I had. yet the star of the meal / week was the the best damn Lasagna that I've ever had! Stacked tall with about 40 layers (give or take 30) of heavily seasoned meat, pasta, red sauce, alfredo sauce and cheese and topped with two perfect bread sticks. Wow! Thankfully the weather was cool, so I had no problem taking part of it home for a second meal later. I'd love to return and sample some of the Udon noodle dishes, sticky ribs or even the cheeseburger. They all looked wonderful from a distance. A great job from the back of house and front of house during a Saturday night slam.

The menu had a good variety, but most of the dishes involved pork, very few involved chicken. Tofu dishes were also an option. The chicken pad Thai was very tasty; rather than cooking the dish to a persons heat specification, they just provide extra chili powder on the plate if you wanted to make it spicier. The main reason for the low review would be the cleanliness of the restaurant.
