Have you ever anticipated something for so long and so badly that it would be virtually impossible for it to live up to expectations? Well, Little Blue Menu is that "something" for me. Let me give you some background information regarding the LBM. LBM is an experimental restaurant concept created by Chick-fil-A. It's essentially Chick-fil-A's innovation kitchen... a place where the company can serve the familiar Chick-fil-A menu while experimenting with foods that normally wouldn't appear in a Chick-fil-A restaurant, including burgers, wings, pizzas, and rotating concepts. Sounds amazing, right?!? Not so fast... While the concept itself is awesome, allowing people to share in these beta opportunities seems like an amazing and innovative approach. But if I'm being honest, every new concept item I tried was bland at best. Hmmm... as I write this, I'm realizing that none of the "concept" items I purchased actually made it to the parent restaurant, Chick-fil-A. Hence... "concept!" Ok, ok... let me temper my review a bit. From the concept menu, I ordered the pizza, the burger, the onion rings, and the wings. Of that order, I enjoyed the following: ........................ Yep. None of those items were worth finishing. I gave my pizza to some college kids, and I tossed the rest after taking a few bites. Now, I am a Chick-fil-A fan. Actually, I had Chick-fil-A for lunch on the very day I wrote this review. But as for LBM? I'm not a fan. The restaurant has Chick-fil-A-level cleanliness, bathrooms, dining area, etc. The staff meets their normal standards as well. You know CFA don't play when it comes to hiring staff members. But aside from that... Blah! Recommendation level: I wouldn't go again, and I can't even say that I'm glad I went. I'll wait for the professionals to roll out their new menu options to the parent stores. After tasting the difference, I trust their judgment. Some concepts are apparently meant to stay concepts.

THIS PLACE WAS FUN! Traveling to DC for the history, Little Blue Menu is located a half-hour away from our nations capitol, and if you are a fan of regular Chick-Fil-A, then this place is right up your alley. Being a "test kitchen", this restaurant has some offerings not offered anywhere else. First thing I noticed was that at 1PM on a Tuesday, the restaurant was quite empty. I'd say there was about 15-20 patrons inside; most of the orders were all carry-out, which was surprisingly. However, the restaurant has a beautiful open-layout, and a lot of light coming in. Back to the food: of course I opted for the "odd" options found only on this location. I ordered the following: 8 piece bone-in chicken wings, sweet potato tater tots, and the very interesting Chick-Fil-A Pizza. As for the wings, they come in a variety of options - including sauced - but I wanted the crunch to stay intact. Rather than going wet, I asked for a side of Old-Bay seasoning and I sprinkled that on my wings. ALSO: they have HOUSE-MADE ranch. Not the factory ranch with the blue label, HOUSE-MADE. That was impressive. The wings were so good, lightly battered, and freshly-fried. On to the tots. They were also freshly-fried, but honestly? A bit bland! I had to sprinkle the old-bay on them too to have some kind-of taste. There was not even a slight sweetness. A bit of a letdown. Lastly, the PIZZA: the pizza cost $10.99, and for it's base it is Chick-Fil-A sauce, then topped with sliced chicken nuggets, cheese, pickle slice, and drizzled again with that Chick-Fil-A sauce. It was a DECENT PIZZA, cool in concept, but nothing to write home about. It tasted fine, it just wasn't mind-blowing. I added some crushed pepper to add another "element" to it. It was kind of needed. OOOOH. For my drink, this was crazy: I got a Blue Boba Breaker. What is it? The employee told me its flavered with Huckleberry? That's cool! Topped with a cold foam, and boba on the bottom --- this drink slapped! 5/5 RECCOMEND! LOVED IT!

I love chick fil a, and wanted to try this since I haven't been before. The regular fries are awful, not worth it. Stick to the waffle fries. The onion rings, however, are pretty good. The pizza is okay, but not bad. Wings are awful. The best thing on the menu is the burger, which is surprisingly much better than other fast food restaurants. Service and wait time is really long.

Friday 4pm Juneteenth Cashless ‍ Restaurant Have you been to the Blue Chik-Fil-A ? After a day at UMD , filming content for the Jordan McNair Organization your girl was HUNGRY . Little Blue Menu is like a experimental version of the possibilities of another fast food restaurant with Chik Fil A customer service. They have party wings, pizza, and Burgers ! What the what ?! I am a kids meal queen. It is the only way I can have portion control ‍. Surprisingly they don't have kids meals . You just order what you want and make it a meal or just an entree. Yes , the Waffle Fries are there . The Avocado Bacon burger was good but all the college kids were eating pizza . I should have gotten the pizza just to feel Forever 21. My friend ordered the party wings . They weren't that appealing. Again Pizza was the number one product here . The bathroom was clean. Anywayssss... Would you believe I saw a roach ?! Crawling under my dern table! Talk about fantasy ruined I stomped it and put it in the trash. Poor thing. It wasn't his fault. We shared the same commonality. Wrong place . Wrong time. Feeling Smushed.

I was actually really excited to try this location as a former Chick-fil-A employee. We ended up ordering a bacon burger, Chick-fil-A pizza, and the sweet kick boneless wings. Some standout items would be the pizza and the wings. It was quickly made, service is great as always, and really fun to try different Chick-fil-A items that are not offered at other locations!

OMG!!!!! A Chick-fil-A that servers burgers and pizza??? WHAT!!!!! This is the coolest thing ever!! The chickens won against the cows!! This fast food restaurant is truly ONE OF A KIND!! We ordered the signature burger, buffalo ranch fries (thick fries, not waffle), and the cheese pizza. The burger was a solid 8.6/10. It was delicious along with its toppings, but was a little oversalted and too well done on the edges. Same rating for the pizza, a little too flaky and not crisp enough crust but still delicious! The fries were a delicacy!!! Super cool environment - they even had a couch and outdoor seating!!! Step into this BLUE (not red) Chick-fil-A and you will be amazed. Prepare to have your world ROCKED! See you there!!

This was a great side quest! The University of Md campus is stunning and hitting the test kitchen of Chick-fila was a really great treat! We loved everything and the service was on point as with all chick fil-a. It's small and can be easily missed but a must do for any chick fila aficionado.

I had heard about Little Blue Menu for a while and I was excited to finally check it out. I brought my daughters to check it out. We are huge Chick-fil-a fans so we walked in with high expectations. We could not get our minds wrapped around a Chick-fil-a Pizza so we passed on that but we did get the Bacon Burger, Buffalo wings, Cookies and Creme milk shake, and a Blue Boba Breaker (we avoided our usual Chick-fil-a favorites so we could try the new stuff). My daughters loved the burger and the boba drink. We all agreed that the buffalo wings were not good. The wings were fried wings with buffalo hot sauce over it. The buffalo sauce over the fried chicken coating made the exterior kind of mushy and the buffalo sauce was way too salty. Keep mind that this is Chick-fil-a's test kitchen so my understanding is that some of the menu items may change over time. The interior is nice and what you would expect from a Chick-fil-a except with a blue (vs. red) theme. What did not change was that awesome Chick-fil-a customer service. Overall a good experience.

This was just a CFA with all the classics with some additional items like pizza, burgers, and wings. Somehow we waited for a pizza and a burger for 30 minutes when there was no line ahead of us. My partner really enjoyed the hot honey pizza.

Food was really good. I wish there was more chicken on the buffalo pizza and the cheese pizza wasn't cooked as long. The burger was amazing and so were the boneless buffalo wings. The straight fries were excellent! Service was slow but I figured because of the pizzas needing to be cooked. We dined in and the seats were dirty. All in all, I will be back but will order before hand to avoid the wait.

The food here was excellent and so unique. I had the Chick-Fil-A pizza which is a white pizza with chopped nuggets and Chick-Fil-A sauce drizzled over it. I also had the sweet potato tots which weren't too fried and I could actually taste the sweet potato flavor.

It had been a while since I last visited Little Blue Menu, so I decided to grab lunch while waiting for my boyfriend during his doctor's appointment across the street. The menu had a few new items since my last visit, and the one that immediately caught my eye was the Chick-fil-A Pizza--topped with chicken, Chick-fil-A sauce, and pickles. I'd seen another Yelper's photo with only one pickle per slice, so I ordered mine with extra pickles. I chose curbside pickup and didn't wait long before my pizza was brought out. I drove back across the street to eat while waiting, but when I opened the box, the pizza that was supposed to have extra pickles didn't have a single pickle on it. I went back to have it corrected, and I'll be honest--the process wasn't smooth. They said they would remake the pizza, but I'm almost certain they just added pickles to the original one. That alone wouldn't have been a big issue, but by then the pizza was noticeably cold. Cold or not, it was still delicious. The crust has a great Parmesan flavor, and the pizza itself is a good size--perfect for sharing. It fed both my boyfriend and me with no problem. In fact, I liked it enough to go back less than a week later for another one and a pepperoni pizza too. Despite the hiccups with the order, Little Blue Menu still delivered on flavor, and I'll definitely continue trying their new menu items.

Took me long enough! I heard so much prior to finally visiting on my own. They recently re-opened after some renovations to allow seating! I did a carry-out order! They offer more than the usual Chick-fil-A menu. Pizza, burgers, wings, onion rings, sweet potato tots, brussel sprouts (just to name a few). To my knowledge, this is the only Little Blue that exists! College Park is a perfect location for this unique concept. I ordered ahead on the Chick-fil-A app and my food was ready when I arrived shortly after. I got a burger and sweet potato tots. Loved it! A bit on the pricey side but that won't stop me from coming back again. If you haven't been, check them out!

I called to order pickup, and the service was nice and friendly. Also, the spot is very reliable, as it's open until midnight and roughly 16 hours of the day, serving many different options, from fast food to comfort food. I ordered the combo over rice ($13), the Philly cheesesteak combo with French fries and lemonade ($15.49), five wings with one waffle ($13.49), and a carrot cake slice ($4). - The fried chicken wings were alright for your typical fast food chicken. - Waffle was decent: it was soft & fluffy. - The combo over rice was solid, and I liked the chicken the most. - Philly cheesesteak was okay and would've been even better if it had provolone instead of the cheese whiz. - French fries were solid: they were crispy with some seasoning on them. - The house-made lemonade was alright, and I would be open to getting it again. - The carrot cake isn't anything crazy, it's alright, but I do appreciate the $4 price tag cause others would charge double or more for a slice. Overall, the spot does a good job with fair pricing, fast comfort food, and reliable hours. I'd come back and recommend.

The wait was a bit long, as we were patient and I was kind enough to thank the man, and he was a stone wall. The delivery man was funny and called them goofy and told them off, as his livelihood depended on them providing swift and reliable customer service, but no and the delivery man although unfiltered said what others thought but were too polite due to social norms to unleash on these fools. The chicken sandwich itself was great not too salty and not too crunchy or friend hard with good sauces and the mac and cheese was not bad and milkshake nice and thick. I value customer service a bit too, so until that improves, this place won't get more than a mediocre reviews by me. I would recommend to order in advance to avoid the long wait times and unfriendly, lazy, unaccommodating staff. You will get fired on your lunch break coming in here not trying to order in advance. They need to step their game up with the customer service. I never give 4 to 5 stars to places that severely lack in one area or another. Good people when I tell you that the Fried chicken at this establishment is delectable...STAMP THAT!! On my initial review of this place, @janess_backstage_kitchen , I took a bite out of the Halal chicken, and waffle, (pictured-$12) and I gave it the Big Schlim grade of DELICIOUS!! So I finished the review, and started pushing. While pushing, I kept dipping into the container with the chicken in it, taking bites. I did this so much so, that I got viciously honked at while stopped at a green light. I crushed that meal before I arrived at my next destination...and I wasn't even hungry!! That's some good a** chicken my good folks...please believe me...it's officially STAMPED!! So this spot is a licensed, black owned, startup establishment that I decided to give some go too...I'm super happy that I did. With curbside service only, Janess's has a very simple menu that includes shrimp and grits (pictured $12), Belgian Waffles, Halal fried chicken, hand cut Zentachi fries, and a house made mumbo sauce chicken combo that comes with a Belgian waffle. That's it. For now!! I also ordered their shrimp and grits (pictured-$12), that came in a container with enough room to feed 3. It smelled good, but aesthetically it didn't look that great. I took a bite and seemed it DECENT. But once again, I pulled off and I kept dipping!! So this one is officially DELICIOUS!! The more, and more i dipped into these meals, the better they got!! Customer service was excellent (these are some truly kind hearted folks good people), and online ordering is easy. Now In order to perfect your meal, they take their time. So add 30 mins to your pick up time. Online ordering was simple, and parking was available. Good people...trust me on this one...get the chicken, be patient, and enjoy. On our way to another location on H Street last Friday, one of my colleagues pointed to H & Chicken (H&C) and said it should be our choice for the following Friday. So, we made our way back to H Street this Friday to check out H&C. Let me get to the point and say we had absolutely no serious regrets about anything we ordered. Although we had to park about two blocks from the location (IYKYK), it was worth it. When we arrived, there was a small line. But, it was moving pretty fast. When we got to the counter, the person taking our orders was very helpful at offering suggestions. If you don't want to go to the counter, there are kiosk where you can place your order. The one negative comment that I have about this location is that people who came in and placed their order(s) long after we did, received their order(s) before us. So, I don't know if there are any specifics into how they manage getting their orders out Outside of that, the food was really good. Each of us ordered just about the same thing which included chicken and fish. Where we differed a little bit was on the sides. Just about everybody ordered the M&C. Some of us ordered, french fries and greens, or potato salad, and greens. When you order the chicken, you automatically get a biscuit. Unfortunately, that is not the case when you order the fish. (OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPROVEMENT) So, some of us had to order a biscuit on the side. Overall, everything we ordered taste really good. However, I will say the noodles in the M&C were slightly overcooked, and there were a bit more stems in the collard greens than I would have preferred. But, the taste for both the M&C and the collard greens was on point. The fish and the chicken (including the mumbo sauce) gets a thumbs up. Everything was seasoned and fried well. It is my understanding H&C is open until 5 AM. So, if you're having a good time at one of the local establishments on H Street and it gets a little too late to go to a traditional fast food location or one of the restaurants on the corridor, I wouldn't hesitate to give H&C a try. The only thing I would be mindful of is there is limited space for dining in. So, you will probably have to order, grab, and go. I do want to note one important thing. If you are going to H&C for the Thursday and Friday chicken wing special, the H St. location does NOT honor that promotion. You will need to go to the Hyattsville location for that. Everybody in our group agreed that we will be returning. Happy eating!
