Today was the day. It's a small storefront tucked slightly off the main road, right next to Rita's Ice. There's only a handful of parking spaces out front, but I had no problem finding one. As I walked toward the entrance, I immediately noticed a strong urine smell near the trash cans outside. I'm not going to sugarcoat it; that almost made me turn around and leave. I was convinced the restaurant would smell the same. Thankfully, the inside was clean and odor-free. The employees greeted me right away with genuine smiles and a warm welcome. The young lady at the counter was patient and helpful while I figured out what I wanted. She shared that this location has only been open for about a month, but they're part of a small DMV chain with a few other locations. Of course, I pulled up Yelp before ordering...and couldn't find this location anywhere. After I placed my order, I actually added this location to Yelp myself. You're welcome...lol. While I waited, I took a few pictures, and my food came out in about 10 minutes. I ordered the Double Smashburger Combo, which came with fries, five wings, and a large drink for around $18. I thought that was a pretty fair price, especially for the amount of food I got (huge portions). I sampled several of their sauces. The signature spicy sauce wasn't for me, but the Honey BBQ and the others were good. The food came out exactly how I hoped it would...hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The burger was juicy (a little greasy though, but good), the fries were fresh, and the wings were fried hard (just how I like it). I even got the option of all flats for 50 cents extra. I went home and demolished my food. For a restaurant that's only been open a month, this was a really good first impression. It is small that only has about 13 parking spaces that it shares with another restaurant next to it. The burger was ok in portion size but the taste was very lacking. It felt a bit under seasoned and slightly bland for the meat patty. The fries were ok and the chicken wing were big in sized but the sauce was sweet but had no spice to it. All in all, it was an ok meal even thought I had higher expectations for the food with so many high rating reviews. In the end it was about a 3.5/5 which is just ok but I probably won't go out of my way to order here again in the future.
