Wow to Little Beet for actually awesome lunch. For what it is.. fast and easy take out or relaxed cafeteria style sit down.. it had a number of super healthy options for lunch. Slugging along not able to decide on any place nearby.. I stepped into Little Beet more out of curiosity than any intent to try it. I looked up at their rear of store wall that showed options for lunch and a counter that held all the options for lunch. As interesting as it was I was happy to nod and start to leave. Then as walking out I noticed someone with a nicely cooked salmon on what looked like a fun plate of various ingredients. So slowed down and thought.. ok maybe try it. Wow.... Yum! Once committed I was ordering beets, couscous, lettuce, sunflower seeds, sesame coated avocado halves, pickled onions, fresh ginger slices and more. After all the fun healthy flavors had me add a to go order of the same things to bring back for someone to try. They Liked it not loved it.. something about knowing they don't like beets. What? That was the best part of what was on that plate. Some little dark things in with the beets were just awesome. Try for yourself.

3 roaches in my delivery order. I managed to capture one, see pictures. Never eating here again.

Shaneece is wonderful and very accommodating and pleasant. This is one of the healthiest options around and the place is healthy, fast and super clean. Over our stay in the hospital we have come here almost every day and it's always very fresh and service is wonderful! I would say a go to for fast and healthy lunch.

This is probably my favorite health food/salad chain store in NYC for a couple of reasons! 1. Tasty sides that are actually seasoned - compared to other places, I actually really like how they have both cold and hot veggie sides that are seasoned/well-prepared. My favorites include the shaved brussel sprout salad which is tossed with pecorino cheese and cranberries and the sauteed greens which include a citrus-y kale with chickpeas. Their sweet potatoes have consistently been very soft and never burnt. 2. Protein options - love how they have poke salmon as another option! Their beet falafel was also delicious! 3. Interesting sauces - I like how they have the tumeric tahini which gave me more curry vibes and the chimichurri sauces that are more unique. 4. Customization (more than other places!!) - I absolutely love the fact that the staff will automatically ask where you want the sauce (all over vs only on your protein for example). Plus they have options if you only want veggies without base or protein. Love the flexibility!!! Yes its another healthy food/salad place with great food so I'd normally give 4 stars but the staff's attention to customization made them a 5 in my books! Plus they give nearby hospital staff a 10% off so what more can you ask for?

Salmon poké with brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes and quinoa

Don't let the name of this place fool you. I honestly thought it was just another salad or vegan spot, but they actually have a variety of protein and sides to choose from. Stopped by for lunch and ordered the salmon poké with shaved brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes and quinoa. The salmon poké was fresh and good, but I would definitely try a different kind of protein next time since I didn't think it mixed well with warm food. They also give you a hospital discount, which is a plus!

One of the best meals I've had at a restaurant near work! In an area filled with mediocre and overpriced food options, the opening of Little Beet fills a void for hospital employees looking for a tasty and *affordable (at least for now...) lunch. *If you order online and enter the promo code "lenoxhill7" you get $7 off your order. Not sure when this promo ends... Ordering is Chipotle style: 1) Choose a base- I was looking for a lighter meal so decided to go for the field greens but they also have basmati rice and quinoa available 2) Choose 2 veggies- The spicy cold noodles were very good! While the sesame avocado was also good, you have to pay extra $$ for it and it doesn't really make or break your meal. My friend's avocado was unfortunately not ripe enough, making it very hard to eat. I would get the broccoli instead next time 3) Choose a protein- The roasted chicken was flavorful and not dry at all. Would like to try the tofu and pork next time 4) Pick a sauce- I really liked both the turmeric tahini and chimichurri sauces that I got 5) Pick a garnish- Really liked the pickle onions. Pickled ginger was good too (same as the ones they give you in sushi restaurants) One thing to note: Even though this kind of food looks healthy, I decided to take a gander at their nutrition menu just for kicks and was shocked to see that what I had ordered amounted to 900+ calories! Some of their calorie counts seem excessively high though but since I'm no nutrition expert, I'll take their word for it and advise the yelp community to be mindful of what they order here because it can really add up! If you stick with the simple chicken salad with a lighter dressing, it should be healthier.

Just opened on UES! Fresh food and seems healthy. I got beet falafel bowl. It comes with baked beet falafel, basmati rice, charred broccoli, pickled onions and beet hummus dip sauce. It is warm and tasty. I've tried the other branches before and glad they opened an additional branch. More options along with Dig and Sweet Greens in the same area. There is seating available to eat inside, a few available tables. No line since it just opened. Moves quickly also as they just scoop it into a bowl. Checkout is fast.

Picked up the food and the place was clean with lots of seating. The person behind the counter was pleasant as well. The food was very tasty. My husband really enjoyed the beet felafel and I enjoyed the yuzu poke.

While looking for a new place to order from, I happen to come across this gem. I ordered the chefs soup bowl. It contained rice, chicken, greens, chick peas and seeds (I think pumpkin??). You also get a cup of butternut squash soup that you can pour over the contents of the bowl or eat by itself. It was so good.. very tasty and fresh ingredients. If you're looking for something healthy yet flavorful and satisfying.. definitely check this place out. And the staff were so friendly and welcoming.. I went back 3x in one week.

This place is fantastic!! I was really craving a light meal, low in carbs. I had the salmon on mix greens. The lemon dressing was amazing. This is a really great healthy option for vegan or low carb eating

This fast-casual, plant-based food chain recently opened near the hospital and is a great place to pick up a healthy lunch. You can order online for pick-up or design your own bowl in the store, Chipotle-style. I ordered baked beet falafel as my protein and was pleased with the taste. My friend tried to order roasted beets and lentils, but was told they had sold out and had to substitute something else instead. Overall, we had a positive experience and would come back for the customizability and vegetarian options!

The host was attentive, and we were seated right away--always a good start. I was a little surprised when the server handed us the menus and we opened the front flap to discover... tablets. That said, I actually appreciated the photos of each menu item--it made ordering easier and faster. Now, the food. Hands down, this was the best Mediterranean food I've had in the U.S. We ordered the chicken shawarma tacos and a side of falafel. The falafel was soft on the inside (not dry at all) and crispy on the outside, sitting in a bed of the smoothest tahini cream I've ever tasted--and I don't even like tahini. The chicken was incredibly flavorful, and every bite actually had chicken. No skimping on the protein here. The pita pocket was small but soft and fresh, not dry. Best part: the chicken taco came with small sides of hummus, baba ganoush, creamed tahini, and finely chopped tomatoes and cucumbers. Boom. Every single element was delicious. One downside: there's only one restroom, it's small, and while it's tastefully decorated, it could have used a bit more attention. Would I go back? 100% yes. I honestly wish I could teleport this place back home with me so I could become a regular.

In terms of a prefix menu I thought this was really good value per person. The atmosphere that they created was very tranquil and serene even though the tables were a little bit too close to each other. The chairs were too heavy for my liking. If I'm being a bit nitpicky, I felt like the chopstick rests and the fake flowers detract from the decor a bit and it feels a bit tacky but overall, the ambiance was good. My favorite dishes were all at the beginning where I really liked the Five flavor Plate (my favorite taste was the bittermelon one). The cauliflower mushroom dish was also really unique but my favorite dish of the night was Buddha jumps over the wall. The dry ice presentation was stunning. There were eight types of braised mushrooms, and texturally, the dish was just so interesting and umami. This was the pinnacle and highlight for me. It kind of tasted like a Chinese cream of mushroom soup haha. If you like mushrooms and soy, you would really like this tasting menu. There were times I felt some dishes were a little bit too salty (roasted matsutake), but as far as tasting menus go, it wasn't bad overall. While the presentation of the dessert was nice, it was really impractical to eat and a little bit difficult. I also wish there was more of dessert that's a bit more than two bites haha.

The service was pleasant, friendly, efficient and helpful from the minute we walked in without a reservation. The ambiance and decor was gorgeous and took me out of NYC for a moment. The phenomenal taste of the first sip of the Thai Iced Tea that paired so well with the rest of my meal is the reason behind the first picture I took. For the apps we ordered my favorite- Chicken Curry Puffs and Chicken Satay. The Chicken Curry Puffs were soft and perfectly mashy on the inside and had a perfect crisp to the layered outside. The Chicken Satay was so different here and yet so savory served with this soft garlic bread. The sauces were so fresh, vibrant and distinct and added to both the appetizers. The peanut sauce had crushed peanuts and was such an accompaniment to texture. For the mains, we had the Chicken Pad Thai and the Braised Beef Short Rib in Penang Curry. The Pad Thai was a great standard and tasty with the crisp sprouts and zesty lime. This Braised Beef Short Rib is where it is at! One of their house specialties- the decadent flavors and textures of this dish is something that will be memorable and just the right touch of spice. Lovely bright orange sweet potatoes and beautiful green beans went so well together with the beef and curry. Looking forward to trying more of their menu and not defaulting to my usual.
