I think that this is legitimately the worst food delivery meal that I have ever gotten in my life. Like it was so bad it is almost funny. I ordered one of their Market Plate dinners. The one where you build your own. It was crispy chicken with black lentils, and then two sides. One with sweet potatoes and hot honey and goat cheese and another with chickpeas and Fata. What I got were a few pieces of ancient desiccated chicken, little teeny, teeny tiny pieces, resting on top of a bed of uncooked black lentils. And please let me stress this. They were dried lentils, like if you go to the market and you buy a bag of dried lentils that you cook at home? That is what the chicken was on top of. And then one of the sides was two small pieces of sweet potato, and a very large ice cream soup size of feta cheese, and then where the chickpeas were supposed to be was this green sludge on which was a lot of feta cheese. My take on this is that they were closing , or maybe were closed, maybe? But instead of calling me and telling me that, the most recent hire in the company was put in charge of making this and having it sent to me. I tried calling, but there was no answer. My delivery guy waited there for about 15 minutes for the food and in fact sent me a picture of a completely empty restaurant. I tried calling them and just as I did he finally arrived. I just cannot believe how bad what I got was because, again legitimately, I have never gotten a food delivery order this bad. Because again, Uncooked lentils. They served me uncooked lentils. read more

This is not a safe place to order lunch from during the week. Unless you are here in person with 30 minutes to spare, I'd avoid it like an empty subway car in July. It has nothing to do with the lines. They can be very long but even with no line or if you order hours in advance, it's a roll of the dice whether your food will be ready. Today my numbers didn't come up. After a customer service call, at least I'll be getting a refund. Anyway, if you're looking for a quick spot to grab a healthy lunch, keep looking. First thing I noticed is how clean this store is. Great job from the staff for taking pride in the store and making it look great. I went with the kale caesar but I added a bunch of extra stuff to it. Every ingredient tasted fresh and worked well in the salad. You can be in and out of this place pretty quickly. For the price you also get a good portion and will leave full. The one thing that is interesting is the drink selection is all weird brands that I never heard of. No big deal but I just want a poland spring! In a city full of quick service spots this place does it right. read more

Ordered salads here from Meal Pal multiple times. From the selection of vendors on MealPal, I am a big fan of Just Salad. I've tried different salad bowls and wraps - Thai Chicken Salad, Buffalo Chicken Salad, Sweet Mama Salad (has turkey bacon), Buffalo Chicken Wrap. I feel healthy eating the salads here. The greens and dressings are good. The chicken is good. It's about a scoop of meat mixed in the salad. I don't really eat too much meat so it's just the right amount for me. The inside of the Buffalo Chicken Wrap is the same ingredient as the salad, just that it is in a wrap. I'm not a wrap fan although it is easy to eat on the go. They have soups here also, which are actually surprisingly good. I've had the pea soup and pumpkin bisque soup (in season), which are really good. I think these are seasonal soups so not regularly on the menu all the time. The price for the soups are comparable to other soup places, $4 for a small, $6 for a large. The customer service I experienced when picking up my pre-ordered salad has been fantastic. It's ready when I come in to pick it up. I just go to the register and ask about my order and don't have to get in the line to select a salad. They have a pre-ordered salad pickup station also right next to the register. Used to be better but still a good experience. I'm not sure what happened to just salad as a result of COVID, but they've definitely changed their operation. They seem to have moved more toward a "bowl" world rather than a salad world - in other words, they are no longer "Just Salad" and that's a shame. For example - Just Salad no longer has mushroom slices as an option to add to a salad. They have balsamic glazed mushrooms if you wish - but honestly, I don't want balsamic mushrooms in my salad. Sometimes, I just want fresh mushrooms. Why they would eliminate this, I will never know. This particular location had less seating than it did precovid and the staff looked kind of out of sorts. Like they were completely overwhelmed. If anyone from "Just Salads" is reading this, please restore your pre-COVID menu because the place was doing much better in those days and the selections were far more plentiful. Overall, Just Salad is a decent place to grab a salad. Bring your reusable bowl, which you can purchase for $1 and get 2 free toppings or 1 premium topping each time you come with a bowl. Bring your own fork, too! The company has sustainability goals related to making zero waste and reducing plastic use through the reusable bowl program, and I applaud and support these efforts. If you also are aiming to be a little more green, following are some tips: if you are going to eat in, tell them you are staying so that you don't need a plastic cover. If you are buying a salad to go and are walking a few blocks away, then you may not need a paper bag that you use for only 2 minutes. In short, happy eating green and being green! read more

I was just at this location and my experience was awful. There were 6 people behind the counter. Only one was taking order. One other person appeared to be restocking and not sure what the other 4 we're doing. When I finally got to the counter to pay one other person was there making drinks. There were 2 people chatting and when I asked if I could pay for my order the woman making the drink for someone rudely file me I had to wait. So she barks out with a level of "I hate my life anger" that should make some New York record book: "No cash!" They charged my card 89 cents. Probably cost a third that to run the thing. Healthy lunch option around NYP but way too expensive. To order, you first choose a vegetable base, then four toppings and then a dressing. The toppings aren't labeled though, making it hard to tell what some toppings are. I would say the service is ok. It wasn't bad but I feel like they could be nicer. I got the kale with a hard boiled egg, cucumbers, buffalo chicken, avocado, and balsamic vinegar dressing. The kale was really dry! I had such a hard time swallowing it in the beginning! Even though the server chops the salad and mixes the ingredients for you, still mix everything adequately before eating to ensure that the kale isn't too dry!! After mixing, the kale became edible and actually tastes pretty good. I thought the toppings really mixed well together and everything was really tasty! This is definitely a healthy and tasty place to grab lunch around NYP but it is just way too expensive! My salad ended up costing $12+ which is ridiculous. I honestly don't know if I'll be back. I was a very loyal customer of Just Salad but I will never again eat at Just Salad. After messing up 2 online orders over the past few months, I quit ordering from them online and only started ordering in-person. The other night I finally built up the courage to give their online-ordering service another chance. I have never been more disappointed in quality and customer service. They delivered my "salad" without lettuce and refused to refund me (or at least provide a full credit) due to their system error. I paid $17.36 expecting to receive a full salad and only received my salad toppings (see pic attached). After multiple unanswered calls and emails, they remediated the situation by giving me a $10 credit for the missing lettuce -- explaining to me that they cannot refund me for just 1 missing item (even though lettuce is the main ingredient in a salad). They are effectively charging me $7.36 for a small portion of olives, apples, cranberries, lentils and goat cheese -- an order I would have never placed. I understand that restaurants sometimes get orders wrong, but to consistently mess up orders and then not make it right with the customer is truly disgusting. Save yourself the trouble and go across the street to sweetgreen or walk a few blocks to Chopt. read more

The staff is super friendly and interactive. They make you feel very welcome. I ordered the buffalo kale ceasar: romaine and kale, shredded carrots, chicken, and multigrain croutons. Sometimes it takes a while for your salad to be ready, especially if the person ahead of you orders 4 salads to go. In any case, this place is a take out place. You can eat in, but the fluorescent or LED lights are a bit white and harsh. Plenty of space. I've walked by here many times and never tried it out because my boyfriend is allergic to vegetables. So today, while he was at work, I decided to give it a go. I love it!!! They give you a LOT of salad and everything was fresh. I love that their meat/seafood is sustainable/antibiotic free. I particularly liked the custom salad option and price wasn't too bad ($11 total for mine). The salad is so big I ate it for lunch AND dinner.
