Great addition to the UES. 2 of us wanted to try 3 different sandwiches. The bread was very good. Ranked in order Green Goddess Chicken club. Could have used more green goddess spread. 4.5/5 The Cortese. Wish there was more salsa verde. Didnt really taste it. Would have been super good if it had more. 4.25/5 Banh Mi. The veggies were good. Meat was slightly gamey. Could have used more pate or some type of butter spread. 4/5 Wife and I felt like everything needed more sauce. If so I think everything would have been a 5/5 -Anyways, they make good sandwiches

I recently visited Counter Service when it announced the option to buy a mini version of their sandwiches! As I looked through the menu on the kiosks in the restaurant, I was a little disappointed there was no option substitutions if you wanted to remove something (I.e. horseradish mayo from the baron instead of ranch). The prices were honestly pretty high too, $13 for a sandwich that didn't contain much meat and was the size of my hand was shocking to see but I'm happy I tried it. The Baron was surprisingly an amazing sandwich which is why I rated it four stars. I don't think I would be a regular when lenwich is across the street and the price to meat ratio is a lot better, but if I'm craving a roast beef sandwich, I would definitely come back to counter service for that!

First time trying this place and it was clean with friendly service. The sandwiches aren't as big as other sandwich shops nearby but the quality is definitely better.

I ordered The Diplomat. It cost me over $15. I finished the sandwich in only 6 bites. Overpriced and underwhelming.

Counter Service is a very nice addition to the neighborhood. They're serving up tasty sandwiches. Clean open kitchen. Mostly take out with small seating area. Limited menu serving up quality ingredients with tasty results. Had the Baron (roast beef) and it was good, the beef was well done would have liked it rare as pics on the menu and it lacked horseradish flavor. High quality food, yes. Wallet friendly, no. But not many places are these days.

Popped in after we tried their amazing sugar cookies they were handing out during the marathon and so glad we did! Cute ambiance designed like a retro sandwich shop. Got their egg and cheese and their roast beef and both sandwiches were delicious, also got the monkey bread and pretzels which were really great as well! Will definitely be back!

I got the diplomat. Pretty good sandwich, unlike anything I've had before. The bread was fresh and delicious. Very small and pricey but otherwise good.

Most Asian…read morerestaurants in this neighborhood are fancy sit-downs, so it was exciting to see a quick, casual stop for Asian "finger food" (for a lack of better word) within my vicinity. Joju specializes in modern Vietnamese cuisine, serving meals like bahn mi, loaded fries, and rice meals. The menu recently added soy garlic wings, and since I am a fiend for Asian-style fried chicken, I of course had to have it. While all of the beverages looked tempting, especially their non-alcoholic soju refreshers, I needed caffeine to offset the afternoon slump that was about to follow, so I ordered a Vietnamese coffee. The wings were huge! It was notably crunchy, saucy, and juicy. There was a decent skin to meat ratio, (I so hate biting into a mouthful of breading), and the meal came out piping hot. It was clear the chicken had been fried per order. Those who know me know that I can't live without rice and would eat it with almost any meal, including fried chicken, so I did request it on the side, although the wings don't come with it. The man who took my order did me a solid and served it with mine, anyway. Good lad! I've been wanting to try Vietnamese coffee for a while now, and it was everything I imagined it would be. Sweet with a bitter backend - but not too bitter! I'm still new to coffee, and I pucker up at anything too intense. This was just right. My meal at Joju satisfied me, mind, body, and soul. I hope it is here to stay, and I hope that a shop like this is a catalyst for other quick Asian food stops to follow. Korean and Filipino restaurants - I'll be waiting!

I can't emphasize how excited I am for them to be here, bringing one of our best neighborhood bites to a new neighborhood which desperately needs more affordable and diversified options. This modern Vietnamese sandwich spot offers banh mi inspired by other East and Southeast Asian flavors. I personally like reaching for their regular banh mi and their lemongrass chicken banh mi. You would be remiss if you didn't get the banh mi or kimchi fries, and their monster rolls which are a newer creation but are essentially giant lumpia with any and all of the sauces they have available. Another plus is that they have pretty creative drinks, like their refreshers and virgin mojitos, for a nice little drink that isn't too calorie-dense depending on what you get. Welcome to the neighborhood Joju and I wish you all the success.

Hanoi pho -- rich and beefy broth with flat white noodles; i personally rlly liked this dish and thought the noodles were perfect and soup had good flavor, but my mom and aunts did find it a bit salty for their liking. Lump crab noodles -- on the lighter side which i rlly enjoyed; it tasted like a light garlic noodle with some hints of parmesan. They do use real crab, but you can taste that it's made with frozen crab. I did find myself drinking a lot of water after a few bites and felt it was a lil saltier than my preference. Saigon shaking beef -- get this! Beef is so tender and cooked perfectly. The sauce and pairing with the arugula and veggies were so delicious. This was also my mom and aunts fav! The sauce was so good we used it on the crab noodles. Bun cha hanoi -- the grilled pork patties that come in a separate small bowl were the highlight of this dish. The main dish did lack fresh ingredients imo; half the veggies were wilted and the lettuce had some bitterness to it indicating it was prob not the freshest. The vermicelli was quite hard and imo not cooked enough. The grilled pork slices were good, but i think most viet places ive gone tasted similar. Id def come again tho! I think the prices are quite reasonable for the quality and the staff were honestly some of the friendliest ive seen! They were so attentive despite being so busy. I didnt have a reservation prior, but the staff were so nice and accommodating and got us seated quickly. I sat near the door and overheard some of their interactions with other guests, and def think service alone was amazing! There's a small tiki bar with some specialty cocktails that i def want to try next time, but despite it being quite a small restaurant there's quite a few tables. Def a cute spot that id come back again! :)
