When I…read morewalked through the front door of Leonardo's Tailor Shop, I was greeted by a friendly gentleman at the front counter who asked me what type of tailoring service I wanted them to do for me. I told him I needed a tailor to sew some custom embroidery onto some clothing. Then I showed him the clothing plus the embroidery. The placement of the embroidery had to be measured precisely in terms of fractional inches and then carefully sewn onto the clothing, using an identical color of sewing thread. After listening to my sewing request and seeing the clothing, the tailor used a tape measure to position the embroidery perfectly on the clothing. Service was very fast and all of the sewing work was completed on the same day. When I returned to retrieve the clothing, everything looked fantastic! LOCATION. Leonardo's Tailor Shop is located in a street level business strip at the corner of Baker Street and Enterprise Street in Costa Mesa. It has a very small parking lot in front of the tailoring shop. Since these were expensive, I really wanted to make sure they would be altered with care (I also figured it might be a complicated job given the changes I needed). I first went to Lisha Tailoring, and I was dismissed pretty quickly- she didn't want to do what I asked and so I went back to Mesa Tailors. Once I arrived at Mesa, she took the time to listen to me and agreed to make the changes I asked for. I picked them up today and they fit like a glove! Her pricing is fair and her tailoring is fabulous. She even lowered the price because the alteration took less time than she anticipated and I really appreciate her honesty too! She immediately offered to do the work no matter the turn-around. I got the dress about a week before the wedding (!) and went straight to Terry. There was so much work that needed to be done - shortening the train, hemming, strap adjusting, panels added where I hadn't lost the weight I'd intended (!). Plus, she suggested other changes to make the dress more comfortable and wearable for the long day. Two days later I went back for a fitting and it was leaps and bounds better than before; miracles had been wrought in 48 hours. A day or so later (at this point, a few days before my wedding), I went back for a final fitting and it was basically perfect. She made the small fix and I picked it up the day before my wedding. It fit like a glove and I was thrilled!! I cannot recommend Terry and Nick enough!! People may ask about the cost: I would've paid them anything because of the timing and how much work was involved. They got my dress turned around in 5 days and got it to me last minute before my wedding - I am so happy! I had a moth destroy a couple of sweaters that had holes in them - very high end label cashmere. Knitwear Dr is an older couple that have been in the community for a very long time and they're extremely nice so they get five stars for that however - I waited one entire year for her to fix four sweaters.... The repairs are also NOT 100% at Knitwear Dr - you can see where she repaired the holes. I had Knit alteration and design (another repair shop located in WA) fix some of the other sweaters that I had.... And they turned out beautiful. The Washington shop re-knit the holes and you can't even tell!! The sweaters look brand new and you can ship the sweaters to her WA shop. Sandy will fix them and ship them back within a 2 to 3 month period. If you're going to consider Knitwear Dr, you should consider the other place for a better repair. at a more reasonable time frame.
