We purposely put our lock on a certain direction 3 times and every time the lock was put on backwards when we came back. Each time our things were rummaged through. Who would ever trust that!? Making the reservation online was simple, then Lion followed up with a phone call just to verify everything and to make sure we knew how to find them. Upon getting there, the whole process was painless. The woman who helped me with the paperwork was really friendly, and got me through it in no time. A gentleman helped Marcelo hook everything up, and helped us insure that everything was connected properly before sending us on our way. Ok.....so, we wasted an hour and came back to find that the sole employee was finally back. We walk into the smallest office I've ever stood in, and chatted for a minute about a unit, before being led to the unit. I probably should've noted that this place is RUN. DOWN. The buildings look like tin WWII barracks. The gates have chain and pad locks, not like proper locks with handles and what not. Everything is rusted and key accessible, not modern punch code locks. There is ZERO parking for the front. So, we walk to our unit and when he opens it up, it was pretty obvious, like it wasn't already, that we weren't staying there. First, there was a huge 6x6 structural beam that was cutting into the room you had to store things. There were 2 large metal brackets hanging from the ceiling, doing the same thing. I asked what those brackets were for, as they were just hanging there taking up room, and I was told that they were for the old garage doors that were previously used as doors on the units. So, I asked, "well, you have new doors now, and these aren't doing ANYTHING but taking space away from the room....can you remove them?" He scoffed, and then told me, "nah man.....they ain't gonna do that for you." What?! SO, I ask, "well, it looks like theyre just bolted into the ceiling....can I take them down?" To that he says, "your lease states you can not modify the room in any way." Ugh. I asked what time the gate stops working for the night, and he said that although the sign says 9pm, because of "a glitch in the system, you could be locked in as early as 8:30, sometimes 8:15." Thats a direct quote. Theres a glitch in the locking system that basically randomly locks the gate BEFORE THE POSTED TIME! I asked, "well, what happens if you're locked in?" He says, and AGAIN, I'm QUOTING, "If I'm not home, you're not going anywhere. You can WALK out through the gate, but you have to park your car inside." So, if I get randomly locked in by your glitchy system, I have to WALK HOME? Um.....pardon my french here, but FUCK YOU. Oh, and for all those luxurious amenities, it was $126 a month. GTFOH. At this point we promptly about faced and burned rubber out of the non parking lot, never to return. I'm not sure all Public Storages are like this, but THIS hot ghetto mess of one, should be avoided at ALL costs.

Billy made sure everything was squared away with my unit before I deployed. They regularly send reminders for rent and give notice for things that might effect your unit--like the weather. Hopefully my stuff is still good when I get back! My unit was clean and had a good door, so high hopes there. : )

I signed up for a unit for $33.00 per month in November. There was no disclosure that this was an introductory, limited time, or teaser rate. Extra Space sent a notice doubling the per-month charge in February. Did they increase the rate by 5% - no, 10% - no, 20% - no, 50% - no. They increased it 100%!!! On February 9th, I called Ryan at the phone number listed on the rate increase notice to discuss the rate change. He said that he would look into the rate change. He called me on February 12th when he told me that the rate would remain $33. Based on this conversation, I wrote my earlier review. Guess what - in March, I received a notice increasing the rate by over 71%! I called, questioned the rate increase, and told them about my February conversations with Ryan. The representative first denied that they employed someone named Ryan. In mid-April, a 3/5/26 Yelp review by Monica G. mentioned Ryan's name and referred to him as the manager. Yet Extra Space did not know who Ryan was?) After I told her what I discussed with Ryan, she then said she would have to review them and call me back. She did not. I received a call from a different Extra Space representative. He was abrupt and said the new rate was the new rate. He said to check the local rates. So, in April 2026, I checked this company's website for local rates. The Extra Space Storage location is currently offering the same size unit, with the same features, climate-controlled, elevator access, for $26.00 per month for four months. Nothing on their website indicates that the $26.00 monthly rate is an introductory, limited time, or teaser rate. In my opinion, the way this business treats its customers is abhorrent. When you rent the unit, you must pay an administrative fee of $29.00. You cannot use a padlock on their rental units; instead, you have to buy their lock for $19.95. You then invest your time in putting your goods into the rental unit. After investing both your money and your time, you see a significant rate increase! It reeks of bait-and-switch tactics.
