Upon arriving at my new location, one backed up the truck while the other two didn't bother spotting him - the driver backed into my brick pillar breaking bricks and the light. They literally brought out some sort of epoxy and said they could fix it! I called the police who wrote up a crash report. I accepted the company's offer to take money off the cost of the move because I had no confidence that their insurance company would promptly pay - I feared I wouldn't end up with anything but a lot more frustration. 3. At the end of the move, I realized they had forgotten to move an elliptical machine that was in the basement - when I brought it to their attention, they said nothing and just left. 4. At my old house they left the garage doors open and lights on - my wife didn't want to have to drive back to the house but was worried they might have done something like this - totally irresponsible! 5. Without asking my permission, they borrowed my hand dolly. After they left, I found it in the backyard with a wheel broken off. (I sent the company a picture of it.) This is absolutely not acceptable. 6. They left packing material all over the house - when I asked about them taking it with them they said that isn't something they do. 7. They did not remove their shoes or put on "booties" even though it was raining out and caused significant scuff marks on my hard wood floor - which I also took a picture of. On June 23rd, I wrote an email to the customer service agent and a manager with whom I had been speaking. No reply. I followed-up with another email on June 24th and received a phone call saying that they would address my issues by the following day. It has now been over a month and I still have heard nothing. All of this is beyond outrageous! As a small business owner, I completely understand when "stuff happens" but when it does you do everything you can to "make it right" - not ignore the customer! Do not use this company!!!

The job estimate was 5-6 hours based on the my inventory and the job finished in 5. Eugene called the night before with an estimated start time, sent a text the morning of with a 30 minute warning, and arrived on time. My crew consisted on Eugene, Serge & Nazar. I did a walk through with Eugene upon arrival of the rooms and items that would be moved and to where at the new location. Upon arrival at my new home, we again walked through to ensure the team understood the labeling on the boxes and home layout. When in doubt, the team asked instead of just dumping boxes in the wrong place. Prior to leaving Eugene asked if I wanted anything moved to different rooms,and straightened out my area rug after the furniture was already placed on it. They carefully wrapped furniture and mattresses with their supplies at no additional charge prior to moving, and removed the wrap and trash from the new home. Bonus: Nothing broken, damaged or lost! The communication prior to the move from Joe was proactive and clear so I knew exactly what to expect. Jose and his team arrived on time and I loved the text message telling me when they were en route. They packed up my apartment so quickly and they were also careful, making sure to pack everything well. Even with stairs, they unpacked at my new location very fast and even made sure we were happy with where everything was placed. Jose was easy to talk to and very professional about making sure we had a good experience. The team also worked quickly and finished the job in under the 6 hours quoted. Edit: There was in-fact a link in the email with my reference number, but it was so hidden that I had to look at the email 5 times. I would also look into the website design so that it does not confuse future customers by asking for nonexistant log-ins.

I work in a position that requires every aspect of my job to be in place before the actual encounter date. I expected this company to be professionals and have everything in line before the moving date. In hindsight I see why the two moving companies I called before Garden State said they would send someone over a guy to do an estimate. The movers came and said nothing to me about not being packed correctly. I left for a moment and the foreman called Nicole and said I did not pack right. I'm no professional but I thought I did a great job. Nicole decided since I had three guys, (mind you the new guy was sick most of the move) and I did not pack right that she was raising the rate from $145 an hr. to $190 an hr. and taking away the 10% discount agreed upon in the contract. My bed is not properly put together, and I can't find screws for tv stands and other things, it's just a mess. I rely heavily on honest reviews, and I am happy that others seemed to have a good experience. Not me. BEWARE!!!

Home Depot dropped it in my doorway and refused to bring it any further. I called Garden State movers on a Saturday to which a very friendly lady took all my info, explained everything I needed to know, gave me a price, and gave me the time that they were arriving within a hour. A half hour before they came I received a phone call telling me exactly when they would arrive. When the 2 gentlemen arrived they introduced they're selves with a hand shake, and they then scoped out the job first. I questioned them that there was only 2 of them, how would they be be able to lift the vanity even though they Both were pretty buff. They had the vanity and the top in the bathroom in matter of 10 minutes. They were both very careful watching that they didn't drop or bang the vanity. During the whole move, I was impressed that they verbally talked the move to each other while making the move. I would use Garden state again, and I would highly recommend 3
