Not the cheapest in the Manchester/Lakehurst area, but by far the friendliest, best customer service and cleanest.

One of the worst experiences ever with Bill King's Movers. The owner was extremely rude. The only…read moregood thing about our experience was the main mover who was extremely apologetic. A week in advance the owner Bill told me they would be there at 8am. I explained I had to work around my work schedule. He reassured me more than once that they would only be 3 hours. Our condo isn't too big. Only two bedrooms, living room and family room. The second bedroom didn't even have furniture in it. The night before, around 5 pm, Bill calls me to let me know that something came up, and they have to move us to 10:30. That something was another job. He waited until the last minute to let me know, so I had to fix my work schedule. Wednesday morning, I rush to the condo to make sure I'm there by 10:30. 10:45 rolls around and no call. I called Bill and he told me 12:00. FINALLY at 1:30 three guys show up. THREE hours later they are still trying to load the truck up with our furniture from the condo. The two helpers kept taking smoke breaks, the main guy was busting his ass trying to get everything moved. Finally bill sends two more workers (how nice of him to finally send two more men). It took them 6 hours to more my small little condo to a three bedroom house (two empty bedrooms, NO boxes). The worst was the two sofas. That's IT. They didn't even have to put the bed back together for us. By far the worst movers ever. Do not use them. The owner is a complete asshole. He finished our experience by screaming at my boy friends mom when he expected to get 600 dollars, DOUBLE what he told us.

My wife and I were extremely disappointed and upset with the condition of our belongings, and a…read moremissing Dell Inspiron computer, when our shipment finally arrived at our new location. We contracted with AMERISAFE MOVING, who used the key words Top rated, Full Service, White Glove. We had no idea and were not informed that AMERISAFE would subcontract our move to ALL POINTS MOVING & STORAGE. Had we known we would have done our research, saw the very low ratings that ALL POINTS received from other dissatisfied clients, and would have avoided using AMERISAFE and ALL POINTS. None of the AMERISAFE Ascertions were met. The final binding costs increased by a third. The increases were eyeballed, not measured. We were told that the "load" would be measured and weighted at the warehouse, however, half of the extra cost was paid at pick-up and the remaining half at drop off. The pickup was at our apartment complex in NYC and we were charged an additional one dollar a foot from truck to apartment. The first 75 feet were "free", however the distant in the City was many hundreds of feet. We were also charged two $75.00 elevator fees at pickup and one at drop off, when there should have only been two. The promised drop-off date was extended by 7-days leaving us at a logistical disadvantage. Communication was poor. My inquiries were treated as an inconvenience. Valuable artwork, guaranteed to be packed and handle safely, were jammed into three boxes without any protection. The drop-off supervisor was witness, at our request, to the unpacking of the artwork. Six important pieces were badly damaged. Two pieces had to be sent to an Art Conservator for repairs. Glasses and dishes were broken, furniture was marred, scratched and damaged, a computer was missing, and several items were missing from the inventory. The inventory list was a multi-copy carbon and I was given the semi-legible bottom copy to review among a myriad of other " sign here" "Initial here" impatient instructions. The missing computer contained important and confidential files. The corresponding 24" monitor showed up without a mover's sticker, was not on the inventory, and had my wife's name not been on the original box, it would not have been left with us. Other damages included a torn antique lamp shade, broken lamps, missing finial, and several scratched and damaged vintage picture frames, the list goes on. I tried to get some satisfaction by addressing my concerns with AMERISAFE & ALL POINTS to no avail. They both seemed accustomed to dealing with dissatisfied clients and referred me to CSIPROS. I filed a claim with CSIPOS as instructed,10-days after the drop off, allowing time to assess all of the damages. CSIPROS sent me acknowledgement of the claim, however they informed me that they were a third party, not affiliated with the movers, had no knowledge of or access to documents. That "the intent to file a claim does not constitute a claim". Detailed information would have to be posted to their website, such as inventory box numbers and items contained in the boxes, which does not exist. Our fourteen pieces of artwork, for instance, were inventoried in Box #1, Box # 2, Box #3 without specifying which pieces were in which boxes. We were further instructed NOT to repair any damages and to save all boxes, many of which had already been removed by the drop off crew for an additional fee. Actually, they told me they would remove the boxes instead of reimbursing us for the extra $75 elevator fee. I've attached some photos, however, we simply want to put this entire experience behind us, as we have no expectation of reaching a fair & just settlement with any of the entities involved, and I lack the energy to do the dance. This entire moving experience started out to be reasonably affordable, clear and simple and turned into a nightmare...So beware.

When I called yesterday for the second time to inquire about my missing items, Tom said, " Lady,…read moreyou must have nothing else to do since you keep calling me" (I am the Market Manager for a large Financial Firm). My stuff was taken by AMERISAFE on August 24 from my home to New Jersey. It was then moved from there by ALL POINTS MOVING AND STORAGE and did not arrive in my new home, Alabama , until Sept 8. They were supposed to arrive on August 31. I slept for nine days on an air mattress and my back is a mess. I had nothing that I needed to live. Many things are missing. I'm hoping to publish this all over in hopes that I get at least some of my things back. This has caused a financial struggle for me and many items are of sentimental value. Some of the things I am missing: 1. Silverware that was my grandmother's. It is in a box with some other kitchen items that I use regularly. ( cooking, utensils, measuring cups, cutting boards,) 2. Two lampshades. I received both lamps with no shades. 3. One large clear plastic bin with a set of tools, music memorabilia, ( an album, DIRT, signed by the band, Alice In Chains, a drumstick, guitar pics, and pictures of the band) and other pictures of family and friends from the past of sentimental value. (some of them are pictures of me in my classroom with the children I taught years ago.) 4. Two buckets. Not a big deal, but still mine. 5. A box with two ceramic pumpkins. These are just some of the items not all of them, and There was damaged done to my stuff too. Tom is trying to convince me that I am imagining all of this. It's really sickening. The movers themselves were also terrible. They left trash outside in my driveway and a glass of water that I gave them sitting outside on a ledge to break.

Day of…read moremove I under estimated number of boxes and was charged 1,100 more on top of quote - I'll take that hit because it was my fault. The movers in NJ who packed me up were great, they worked hard and were very appreciative for their tip....... here is where it got irritating. When the movers arrived in my new location the manager immediately cornered me and said I would have to pay more because the distance from the truck to my apartment .... when I said it was the same in NJ he said he could work it out in the tip. Ok.... there were 3 movers and I told him I was going to be generous and planned to give $70 each (which I thought was a lot) he said make it $100. WTH? Then they rushed, and before they left the manager said he couldn't take the trash, it wouldn't fit because he was going to another job. Seriously? They just unloaded my furniture and the trash won't fit? So I had a stack of broken down boxes in my apt. for 2 days until I could take them out for pickup! I look over my list and I'm missing my TV- I told him I wouldn't sign because I didn't have everything. He insisted I had to sign and to write he owed me a TV on the bottom of the paperwork. That they must have left it. What a mess - he said. I would have it in 2-3 days.... today is day 5 and I'm still waiting. Do your research, that is all I'm saying and if you have more boxes than expected, Work it out BEFORE they arrive or they will slam you on the cost. I won't use these guys again. (Broken table, chair, pile of trash and no TV)

After I posted this review and a formal complaint with the BBB, this matter was resolved. The…read morecompany adjusted the cost of the move by $1500, bringing the total to a fair price. I was happy to finally have this issue resolved, although it's disappointing that I had to complain to the BBB for that to happen. Also, a note about the delivery: Accidents happen during a move. Even when I've moved on my own, I know that sometimes things break. It's a part of moving. That being said, I think more care could have been taken with the way my things were packed on the moving truck. Numerous boxes were basically crushed. Many (most) of the boxes that were delivered were left upside down. This led to some things being spilled and damaged in the move (nothing of huge value, so nothing worth fighting over). My suggestion to the company would be to be more careful about how boxes are stacked. Heavier boxes should not be stacked on top of lighter boxes. The movers themselves were friendly and courteous. Why only One-Star still? Although the cost issue was resolved and I finally got my belongings, dealing with this company was one of the most unpleasant parts of my move. Moving from CT to NC isn't easy as there are many logistics to consider. I hired a moving company because I thought it would be one less thing to worry about. I paid for the convenience of having someone else deal with moving most of our belongings. If I had known I was going to run into such a headache, I would have taken a week off of work and moved everything myself. In the long run, not only would it have been cheaper, but I would have had less stress.
