We have moved multiple times in east cost always use the same mover from NY. This time thought of trying a NJ based mover. Here are the issues 1.Lack of professional behavior. They came inside saw that entryway table had a few bills picked them up asked me which currency it is. 2. One of the kitchen packers opens lid of my spice box (I had leaves and chillies puts his nose in sniffs and asks what is it? 3. Packed every little thing in white wrapper so unpacking was hell. Single stainless steel spoon wrapped in 4 layers of packing . 4. Who does this .packing open can of bleach with groceries. While unpacking I saw white dust thought its paint once I hit end of box it was bleach so ended up throwing everything from that box. Which professional mover does that 5. Random packing. I had very organized closet but they picked random items and packed in diff boxes so i had box with sweaters pillow covers photo frames and belts all from diff parts of closet. LASTLY we were given pricing we paid that by bill and paid $800 extra over that without receipt as they demanded that they packed box. When vector gave me a quote it included 10 medium boxes $20 per box but the guys packed everything with white wrapper in kitten not one but 4 sheets and increased boxes packed to 30 , unethically charging us for small boxes stuffed with white paper. Please note it was a very painful experience and no one deserves this kind of billing or nonsense

Really disappointed with Compass, especially because we had used them several times before and…read morerecommended them to a number of friends. This was a one-bedroom move. When the crew arrived, they said it would probably take more than the 3-hour minimum. My wife initially asked if they could try to get it done in 3 hours, but when they explained it might take longer, she agreed to go up to 4 or 5 hours and pay for the extra time. The crew still left and didn't do the move. We had to be out that Sunday, so we had to find another mover at the last minute. A different two-person company came at around 4 PM and did the same type of move, including wrapping and protecting the furniture, and finished in under 3 hours. They also had to deal with traffic and a 45-minute drive. What really bothers me is that Compass is keeping our $50 deposit and saying that my wife refused to pay for more than 3 hours. That's not what happened. We were willing to pay for the additional time. We've had good experiences with Compass in the past, which is why we recommended them to others. Unfortunately, after this experience and the way the situation was handled, I can't recommend them anymore.
