We stopped here yesterday to inquire about a unit, and when we showed up at around 3…read morepm, (Saturday hours are until 5), the office was closed, with a note that they would be back around 4. Ok.....so, we wasted an hour and came back to find that the sole employee was finally back. We walk into the smallest office I've ever stood in, and chatted for a minute about a unit, before being led to the unit. I probably should've noted that this place is RUN. DOWN. The buildings look like tin WWII barracks. The gates have chain and pad locks, not like proper locks with handles and what not. Everything is rusted and key accessible, not modern punch code locks. There is ZERO parking for the front. So, we walk to our unit and when he opens it up, it was pretty obvious, like it wasn't already, that we weren't staying there. First, there was a huge 6x6 structural beam that was cutting into the room you had to store things. There were 2 large metal brackets hanging from the ceiling, doing the same thing. I asked what those brackets were for, as they were just hanging there taking up room, and I was told that they were for the old garage doors that were previously used as doors on the units. So, I asked, "well, you have new doors now, and these aren't doing ANYTHING but taking space away from the room....can you remove them?" He scoffed, and then told me, "nah man.....they ain't gonna do that for you." What?! SO, I ask, "well, it looks like theyre just bolted into the ceiling....can I take them down?" To that he says, "your lease states you can not modify the room in any way." Ugh. I asked what time the gate stops working for the night, and he said that although the sign says 9pm, because of "a glitch in the system, you could be locked in as early as 8:30, sometimes 8:15." Thats a direct quote. Theres a glitch in the locking system that basically randomly locks the gate BEFORE THE POSTED TIME! I asked, "well, what happens if you're locked in?" He says, and AGAIN, I'm QUOTING, "If I'm not home, you're not going anywhere. You can WALK out through the gate, but you have to park your car inside." So, if I get randomly locked in by your glitchy system, I have to WALK HOME? Um.....pardon my french here, but FUCK YOU. Oh, and for all those luxurious amenities, it was $126 a month. GTFOH. At this point we promptly about faced and burned rubber out of the non parking lot, never to return. I'm not sure all Public Storages are like this, but THIS hot ghetto mess of one, should be avoided at ALL costs.

Billy and Kelsey were extremely helpful with…read moreeverything, from finding the right storage unit (Kelsey showed me 3 or 4 before I picked one!) to following up with questions I had concerning insurance, to getting a few extra boxes to put my stuff in. Billy made sure everything was squared away with my unit before I deployed. They regularly send reminders for rent and give notice for things that might effect your unit--like the weather. Hopefully my stuff is still good when I get back! My unit was clean and had a good door, so high hopes there. : )

HER customer service gets a 10 out if 5 because she was definitely ON IT. This explains why this location has such great reviews. Thanks Amy! Original issue: Online move in process was great. My family has had a storage unit here for about 2 years...no issues. Then I decided to get another unit. Unfortunately, the gate is broken so when I went back to put things in the unit I couldn't get in the gate. Came back in the morning before work to try again, still no luck getting in. Turns out the gate is broken and we weren't told this when getting the unit. I dont mind the gate being broken- thats perfectly out of their control and they will be fixing it within about 10 days they said. My issue is with the fact that I wasn't notified, the sign on the gate remains indicating that it is open from 6am to 9pm, so twice I went within that time frame and couldn't get through. After calling this morning the person answering talked over us and wouldn't let us explain that the sign on the gate should indicate the ACTUAL CURRENT TIMES YOU CAN ENTER. Literally she hung up after talking over us and saying what she had to say. Now all my stuff has been sitting in a car overnight which isn't safe, and my one request that the times on the gate AND the website be reflective of actual times you can enter the property went unheard. Tried calling general customer service but it just loops you back to your local one. Again- the issue isn't in the gate being broken its the lack of competence and ability to effectively communicate current changes in time. I'm going to need them to get it together and do better.

This storage facility was perfect for what I needed for a few months. I rented a climate controlled unit that included storing my cozy couch! Once I removed my things out of the unit, the items were exactly the same. If you rent a climate controlled unit -- you can only go into your storage unit during their business hours. Award Self Storage offers: a truck to move-in (did not use), along with several boxes and 2nd month rent for FREE! The facility sells boxes and such for typical moving needs. They also have carts inside the storage building to assist with moving items. Overall, this establishment did it's job and I had no issues while there. Also, the staff are nice and helpful when needed. Award Self Storage is 20 mins from Philadelphia which was a major plus!

We found this place online and were not disappointed. The service at the front counter was exceptional! Nicole was a rockstar and not only set us up with the best deal with utmost trust and confidence in this place, but she hooked me up with local coffee, shared with me some of the awesome things that I should check out in my new hometown, and had a great sense of humor. I needed all of that!! The storage unit is amazing and very secure and clean! The accessibility hours are wonderful and easy access for after office hours. When we returned a few days later to put more boxes in the unit, the employee was equally as fantastic and chill, and I remain impressed. I would recommend this place to anyone!!

Clean Facility, but pricing and payment could be improved…read more Took over a temperature controlled storage unit. Facilities were clean, relatively easy to access, and maintained. I was only there for a bit over a year, and they raised prices quite a few times CSS was raising the price nearly every month for the last two-three months that I rented the unit. Understandably prices fluctuate and may raise over time, however raising rents multiple months in a row is frustrating, especially for a place where you are just storing items. The payment processing system is archaic. While conveniently allowing you to pay online, it doesn't allow you to pay a partial, or update auto-pay information if you want to use a different or new card.
