We stopped here yesterday to inquire about a unit, and when we showed up at around 3…read morepm, (Saturday hours are until 5), the office was closed, with a note that they would be back around 4. Ok.....so, we wasted an hour and came back to find that the sole employee was finally back. We walk into the smallest office I've ever stood in, and chatted for a minute about a unit, before being led to the unit. I probably should've noted that this place is RUN. DOWN. The buildings look like tin WWII barracks. The gates have chain and pad locks, not like proper locks with handles and what not. Everything is rusted and key accessible, not modern punch code locks. There is ZERO parking for the front. So, we walk to our unit and when he opens it up, it was pretty obvious, like it wasn't already, that we weren't staying there. First, there was a huge 6x6 structural beam that was cutting into the room you had to store things. There were 2 large metal brackets hanging from the ceiling, doing the same thing. I asked what those brackets were for, as they were just hanging there taking up room, and I was told that they were for the old garage doors that were previously used as doors on the units. So, I asked, "well, you have new doors now, and these aren't doing ANYTHING but taking space away from the room....can you remove them?" He scoffed, and then told me, "nah man.....they ain't gonna do that for you." What?! SO, I ask, "well, it looks like theyre just bolted into the ceiling....can I take them down?" To that he says, "your lease states you can not modify the room in any way." Ugh. I asked what time the gate stops working for the night, and he said that although the sign says 9pm, because of "a glitch in the system, you could be locked in as early as 8:30, sometimes 8:15." Thats a direct quote. Theres a glitch in the locking system that basically randomly locks the gate BEFORE THE POSTED TIME! I asked, "well, what happens if you're locked in?" He says, and AGAIN, I'm QUOTING, "If I'm not home, you're not going anywhere. You can WALK out through the gate, but you have to park your car inside." So, if I get randomly locked in by your glitchy system, I have to WALK HOME? Um.....pardon my french here, but FUCK YOU. Oh, and for all those luxurious amenities, it was $126 a month. GTFOH. At this point we promptly about faced and burned rubber out of the non parking lot, never to return. I'm not sure all Public Storages are like this, but THIS hot ghetto mess of one, should be avoided at ALL costs.

Billy and Kelsey were extremely helpful with…read moreeverything, from finding the right storage unit (Kelsey showed me 3 or 4 before I picked one!) to following up with questions I had concerning insurance, to getting a few extra boxes to put my stuff in. Billy made sure everything was squared away with my unit before I deployed. They regularly send reminders for rent and give notice for things that might effect your unit--like the weather. Hopefully my stuff is still good when I get back! My unit was clean and had a good door, so high hopes there. : )

I rented a beat up 17' truck from them last week. The steering wheel had to be turned 45 degrees to…read morego straight and i was given LESS than 1/4 tank of gas. I started it up the following morning to back it into place to load up. After loading i had to drop off furniture at my parents house. When we tried to leave to drop off the rest of the furniture at my storage unit the truck would not start and needed to be jumped. Once completed at the storage unit we had to jump it again. I called and asked if i could bring it back instead of putting the $10 worth of gas needed so as not to risk jumping it, they replied sure. Once back at uhaul they said i had to top it off or pay $55. I then filed a complaint with uhaul corporate. I never got a response from uhaul Burlington in reference to the complaint (they have 3 business days to reply). I called uhaul corporate to ask why i never got a call back from Burlington and was told that the Burlington location stated they spoke to me and that it was my fault the battery kept dying. Zip to Zip Moving DO…read moreNOT USE THIS COMPANY! Here are the FACTS of my experience. 1. They were scheduled to arrive between 8:00am to 9:00am and arrived at 10:45am. 2. Upon arriving at my new location, one backed up the truck while the other two didn't bother spotting him - the driver backed into my brick pillar breaking bricks and the light. They literally brought out some sort of epoxy and said they could fix it! I called the police who wrote up a crash report. I accepted the company's offer to take money off the cost of the move because I had no confidence that their insurance company would promptly pay - I feared I wouldn't end up with anything but a lot more frustration. 3. At the end of the move, I realized they had forgotten to move an elliptical machine that was in the basement - when I brought it to their attention, they said nothing and just left. 4. At my old house they left the garage doors open and lights on - my wife didn't want to have to drive back to the house but was worried they might have done something like this - totally irresponsible! 5. Without asking my permission, they borrowed my hand dolly. After they left, I found it in the backyard with a wheel broken off. (I sent the company a picture of it.) This is absolutely not acceptable. 6. They left packing material all over the house - when I asked about them taking it with them they said that isn't something they do. 7. They did not remove their shoes or put on "booties" even though it was raining out and caused significant scuff marks on my hard wood floor - which I also took a picture of. On June 23rd, I wrote an email to the customer service agent and a manager with whom I had been speaking. No reply. I followed-up with another email on June 24th and received a phone call saying that they would address my issues by the following day. It has now been over a month and I still have heard nothing. All of this is beyond outrageous! As a small business owner, I completely understand when "stuff happens" but when it does you do everything you can to "make it right" - not ignore the customer! Do not use this company!!!
