I was helped by Jane. She was so polite, she was so patient and I feel like she went above and beyond to make sure I was relaxed and pampered. About a month ago, I went to my old nail place in another part of Reno... who also had new owners and boy did it seem too hectic with new rude employees who I felt were shoving suggestive items in my face. She confirmed she could, sent me a link to purchase the necessary products myself, and scheduled the appointment. When I arrived, her attitude was completely hostile. More importantly, she waited until after she had fully grinded down my natural nails--leaving them vulnerable and compromised--to inform me that she "could not fulfill my expectations." Knowing I couldn't simply walk out with thinned, damaged prep work, she painted my nails with something I did not request and still expected full payment before pushing me out the door. Holding a client's natural nails hostage after starting prep work to force an unauthorized service is unacceptable business practice. I purchased supplies on her recommendation and gave a month's notice, only to be ambushed in the chair.

One minute she was saying she was taking too long, then later saying she needed to hurry up. It felt like Kim couldn't win no matter what she did. Honestly, it made things a little uncomfortable and for my wife... Kim stayed professional the whole time and focused on my wife's nails to make it to perfection. Personally, I rather have a nail tech take her time and do it right than rush through the appointment. Kim deserves a lot of credit because my wife's nails turned out BEAUTIFUL!! This time, I specifically requested a female nail technician because the male technicians I've had here in the past have been extremely rough--one even cut me. A coworker of mine has had a similar experience here, so I made a point of requesting a woman, hoping I would have a better experience. Unfortunately, I was given Lily, and today's experience was just as bad. I have been getting pedicures for over 25 years. I know what a good pedicure feels like, and I know when someone is being unnecessarily rough. Throughout the entire service, Lily was constantly grabbing, repositioning, and forcefully moving my foot every 30 seconds. I have NEVER experienced anything like it during a pedicure. It felt like I was being manhandled rather than receiving a relaxing $65 service. I specifically asked for my toenails to be cut VERY short and for the ingrown areas to be carefully cleaned out. Instead, Lily CUT MY FOOT. Then, to top it all off, the gel polish application looks terrible. The polish is pushed all the way down into my cuticles, and the edges are jagged and sloppy. For $65, I expect someone to be able to apply gel polish cleanly and professionally without injuring me in the process. A pedicure is supposed to be relaxing--not an experience where you're being jerked around by your feet, cut, and then sent home with sloppy polish. I have genuinely tried to give this place multiple chances because the location is so convenient, but convenience is not worth paying $65 to be manhandled, injured, and leave unhappy with the quality of the work. The folks that work here are so nice and they listen to what you need. My problem is with the quality of what I ended up with. I wanted so much to give a really good review here. Sadly, I can't do that. I asked for a seemingly simple design, but the information was not relayed or absorbed well so that didn't happen. What I ended up with was still a very pretty cat eye. The problem with the whole thing is that the next day, my polish started peeling. Dark colors take longer to set and this has a black base. The black base had not cured completely, and was now pulling up. I figured out what the problem was and I pulled up the layer of polish and got some alcohol on it so that it wouldn't get sticky everywhere. I would have gone back to the shop so they could fix it, but they were closed as it was a Sunday. I was willing to give them a chance to fix it. Now today, two days later, it's happening again. I have all these supplies at home so I'm going to just take care of it myself. Why didn't I do this all myself? Because sometimes it's nice to have someone else pamper you and do it for you. I know I'm exceptionally picky, and I need to just do it myself going forward. My notes to the shop here are, please watch how thick you're putting on the polish and please make sure that it cures all the way before you go to the next step. I don't mind having paid for the full set because the shape of them is exactly what I wanted. It was just the polish that was a problem. Going forward, I will just continue to do my nails myself.

The pedicure was especially relaxing. I chose the orange scent and they actually used real oranges and rose petals, which made it feel really fresh and luxurious. Many places don't do that anymore. The location was easy to find in the Clear Acre's strip mall. I was welcomed by the Owner Jenny and she passed me off to Isela, she started a couple weeks ago. It's a Latino driven shop. They have pedicures, deluxe and VIP. I got the deluxe I wish now I got the VIP for $5 more to receive the paraffin wax . The range is $60-75 for gel and $5.00 for decoration. I was there for a hour and half, Isela took her time. She can do free style art work or stickers. I chose the stickers. The place was spotless and they asked if I like a small bottle of water which is always a nice touch. I paid with cash not sure if there was a credit card fee or not. No discount for cash. The Technician was very gentle sometimes I do prefer the cheese grater for my winter callous, but otherwise, I'd go back, but I'm always on a mission to try different nail salons in the area.
