Receipt for 4 adults, in which 3 were seniors, refused senior discount, forced to pay full price

Unfortunately, my experience at this buffet was extremely disappointing, particularly when it came to customer service and the way my party and I were treated. My party and I are seniors, and when we asked about the senior discount, we were told that the staff could not refund the difference or apply the discount to our purchase. What was especially frustrating was that the staff could clearly see that we qualified as seniors, even though we had not initially identified ourselves as such. I understand that businesses have policies regarding discounts, but the way this situation was handled felt very unprofessional and lacked basic consideration for the customer. The manager on duty at approximately 1:00 PM was also the same manager we encountered approximately five or six weeks ago during a previous visit. During that visit, we felt uncomfortable because of what appeared to be excessive staring and attention directed toward us. On this occasion, we experienced similar behavior, which made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. At one point, while we were eating, the manager walked past our table with a broom and began sweeping nearby, creating dust in the dining area while customers were eating. I found this to be inappropriate and unsanitary, particularly while people were actively dining. The service from our waitress was also disappointing. Dirty plates were left on our table for an extended period, even after we had finished eating and returned to the buffet. Although she was attending to several other tables, we felt that our table was being overlooked. Most concerning, however, was our perception that there was a noticeable difference in how Black and white customers were being treated. I cannot speak to the intentions of the staff, but based on what we personally experienced and observed, we felt that we were treated differently. That left us feeling uncomfortable, disrespected, and unwelcome. A restaurant should make every customer feel respected, valued, and comfortable regardless of age or race. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Based on the overall customer service, management, cleanliness, and treatment we received, I would rate this establishment -0 stars if that were an option. My family will seek another establishment to din at on Sunday's after church services as it is not an option to din here anymore I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and investigates these concerns. Customers deserve to be treated with professionalism, dignity, and fairness every time they visit.

Nov, 2025. My husband really likes the variety of foods on buffets so, when we passed by Lin's Grand Buffet during a recent trip to Phoenix, I knew that we would be going there for lunch. (Looking on-line, Lin's Grand Buffet appears have multiple restaurants in the Phoenix area; we visited the location on E Baseline Rd). This is a gigantic buffet, both in terms of the quantity and variety of food. In addition to rows and rows of entrees, noodles/rice, soups, salads, desserts, etc., there's also a Mongolian BBQ station and a counter with sushi. There was even a tray with enchiladas! My husband and I agreed that Lin's had some of the best tasting Chinese buffet food that we've ever had. Plus, given the large number of patrons, the food was hot and trays were replenished regularly. I particularly liked the pork dumplings (with a hint of fresh ginger), pepper shrimp, and breaded and fried zucchini (just like mom used to make!). My husband's favorites were beef and broccoli, cream cheese rangoons, and apple pie topped with vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately, the Mongolian BBQ was a fail for me. I filled my plate with a great variety of vegetables (bean sprouts, zucchini, cabbage, peppers, onions, garlic, etc.), noodles, and some chicken and beef, and then turned it over to the chef at the grill. When I picked it up a few minutes later, my fresh stir-fry was close to black in color because the chef had added a huge amount of soya sauce during the grilling process. I've been to other Mongolian BBQ restaurants that allow you to add your own sauces to your bowl before giving it to the grill chef; that would've been preferable in this case. I don't believe in wasting food -- but the only way that I was able to eat this was by adding more noodles to lessen the per-bite overbearing salty taste. Service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive, even refilling our ice waters before we asked, and efficiently taking away used plates. The restaurant was tastefully decorated and clean. The parking was free and plentiful. The value of the lunch buffet is excellent -- $14.99/adult before taxes and tip. Seniors aged 62 and above also get a 10% discount.

Went to lunch at Lin's Grand Buffet South Mountain, a buffet chain with over 15 locations across Arizona, Texas, and California. It is known for its wide variety of food options, including a sushi bar, a Mongolian grill, and classic Chinese dishes. I really go to Chinese buffets for the seafood, and Lin's has a very nice selection and a great sushi station. I found everything to be super fresh and appealing. They also have a shrimp boil available, which I really enjoy, as well as many of the classic Chinese dishes most people look for. We usually go to the Metro Center location and the Baseline location is also very good.Lunch price is $14.99 with 10% off for seniors. Dinner is $17.99. Carryout is $8.29 per pound.

Although it looks like a cake, I don't really know what it is. Next is some shrimp or prawns & I don't know what the other two are

It was really amazing. Beautifully decorated very helpful where the staff. The salmon was out of this world. I also had some of the bake seafood casserole. That was very delicious. I had some of the mushrooms and the fried shrimp that was very good. one of the ladies got some kind of chicken or something and she said it was really spicy but she ate it. She said it tasted so good. We really enjoyed ourselves. The ice cream machine was broke. All you could get was chocolate that it was delicious. I also got a cream puff. I don't know if anyone else in the group got dessert.

Food was good like usual today, but the service was sorely lacking. Half way through my meal before I got my soda and never got a refill. Hoping this was a one off, not a new standard!

Me, I do not have a photo of this restaurant in my phone.

The food is great, service is quick, and ambiance is nice. I have only done takeout! Please search this restaurant and if ever near by know dining in or taking out, I personally like the food.

About $16-17. Weekday lunch is the best deal at $13 and change! Read my review. Call them for exact prices!

    Is it still buffet?

Yes it is still a buffet! From providing hand-sanitizing stations to supplying you with disposable plates and flatware, we’ve taken every possible precaution to welcome you back to our buffet safely.

Do they have early bird pricing?

    No.

Do they always have steak as an option to eat?

Yes at the dinner time, everyday

What is the price for a single adult?

I believe we pay $14-15 a person on the weekend. Lunch on weekdays is cheaper. $2.50 more for a drink.

Whats the price to eat here? Are drinks included?

Drinks are not included, couple dollars extra with free refills. The price goes up on weekends & evenings. I believe we pay $14 a person usually, and totally worth it for the selection. There is a lower kids price too as I recall.

Amazing Restaurant!…read more All amazing people of Phoenix, if you have not gone to this phenomenal restaurant yet, you really need to. This is one convenient, high quality, extremely flavorful Chinese place that me and my husband visited today. It was just high quality all the way! When we arrived it was quiet. Superbly clean, neat and tidy. Cute decor and a nice inviting vibe. We were sat at a table and given our menus. Prices were really good. Especially when you get the quality of food that comes out of that kitchen. Our waitress was super-nice. Which is hard to find these days. She was so nice to everyone who came in. When we sat down, a lady who wasn't too sure about the place came in asking all kinds of questions. And she patiently answered each one as if she was a close family member. A homeless guy came in asking for water. She jumped right up to give him a HUGE cup of ice and water and was so kind to him. Then other patrons came in to order and pick up food and each one, regardless of age, ethnic makeup, what they were wearing, all were greeted so warmly. Huge smiles and a constant giving and warm attitude all throughout. We were treated just as good. And for us that is very rare. We ordered a lot of various things. A cold cucumber salad, a hot appetizer, a couple of main dishes. Then the absolute most amazing signature steak on the Chef's Speciality. WOW. The salad and appetizers came out first. Salad really cold and refreshing. Super crisp and cut nicely. Amazing flavor. Then the appetizers were super hot and fresh. Not oily. Bursting with flavor. Then the mains came. Everything cooked perfectly. The flavors of each dish just screaming at my taste buds. Enjoyed every bite. Then they brought out the steak for my husband. So juicy. So tender. And the sauce in the side just added to the flavor. We savored every bite. The quality and temperatures and flavors are off the chart. We could not finish all this bliss in one sitting, se we asked for boxes and containers. She gave us many to separate everything and a bag to haul it home in. Always asking if we needed anything else and being authentically polite. This place should be packed. You are missing out if you have not tried New Hong King Restaurant. Amazing service. The restaurant itself is so cute and has such a charming feel, so I was hoping the food would be just as impressive. Unfortunately, this visit was a bit of a miss for us. The noodles were very hard in texture and unfortunately lacked flavor. The fried rice was also disappointing -- I expected the usual fried rice with some vegetables and flavor, but there weren't any veggies, and the rice itself was very hard and bland. We also tried the sweet and sour chicken, which didn't have that classic sweet, tangy flavor I was expecting. It was pretty bland, and unfortunately, the chicken tasted a little off to me, so I didn't end up eating much of it. I really wanted to love this place because the reviews are so positive and the restaurant is adorable, but based on this particular takeout experience, the food just wasn't for us. Maybe we caught them on an off day, but unfortunately, I don't think I'd be rushing back. Cute restaurant, but the food definitely missed the mark for us this time.

They had a wide variety of selections including a carving station, seafood, salad bar, pizza, Italian, Asian, tapas, American comfort food, and even a Pho station! They really have something for everyone. From the carving station, I tried the brisket which was tender and tasty. I was kinda impressed with the little bowl of Pho as the flavor was pretty good. I mostly had the broth and the beef as I didn't wanna fill up on the noodles. Orange chicken and beef and green beans were very good and so was the chow mein. Everything was very fresh. I was very impressed with their desserts! I wanted to try everything but of course my eyes are always so much bigger than my tummy haha. I tried the green brûlée, bread pudding, pecan pie, tres leche cake and ice cream and everything was pretty good. Service was outstanding! My diet coke was refilled constantly and used plates were cleaned off the table immediately. For only $18, it was such a great value and I will definitely come back for their prime rib night on a Saturday ($29). They also offer steak and seafood on Fridays for $39.

Went there on a Friday evening, expecting crab legs, which they do not serve now any longer. They…read morehave a seafood buffet, which includes overcooked seafood items. Overall, the food was good in some areas and other areas. It was not we had the dessert which was really good. I got an ice cream cone, which is good. I got some fresh shrimp. Which was good. Roast beef was good Chinese area. The vegetables is all I got was good. But for the price, they advertise crab legs and they don't serve them any longer so make sure you are checking the buffet out before you go and spend over $50 a person on this food which you probably can go somewhere else for cheaper.

Came here as a party of 5 during their "Happy Hour" from 3-5p for $29.99 per person. It was a…read moreThursday evening so it was not very busy at all. Got seated right away and service was on point. They even have a little robo-server delivering some dishes. Food: 4-stars - I really enjoyed the carpaccio options they had as well as the shrimp tempura. However, the gyoza was double or triple fried and tasted horribly. Can't believe they actually served it like that to their paid customers to be honest. And the agedashi tofu was not fried at all so it was completely mushy which is not how I expected it. Other than that, the other dishes/options were pretty good. Definitely ate more than my price of admission - worth it! Ambiance was nice, bright and clean looking. Would definitely come back and recommend if you're a sushi lover!

Craving sushi so we came here since our usual place is closed on Sunday. Thought I try another…read moreAYCE sushi place. Place was little busy for early Sunday dinner. Got sat pretty quick and staffs were friendly. AYCE price for dinner is $34.98 lunch is $26.98. Typical rules, 2 hours, eat what you order and dishes per order. Ordered miso soup, seaweed salad, vegetable tempura and few other sushi. Tempura was tasty and piping hot. Miso soup was also pretty good along with seaweed salad. I like that Salmon roe sushi was bite size small. Over all the sushi weren't bad but the rice was bit on the sat around /undercooked on some part of the rice. Over all fish was OK on the quality but you get what you pay for. I did not try some of the other side menu items due to not being able to over stuff myself like I used to. If you are in the area and want to stuff yourself with not to bad sushi this place might work. I personally would not come back for the quality and price for the food.
