May not look like much from the outside but the inside has high ceilings and is very spacious! We dropped by for lunch yesterday since we were in the area and were there right when they opened lol. Greeted by the loveliest staff, shoutout to Zel, absolute sweetheart and she KNOWS her beer!! Love how knowledgeable she was! They have a small parking lot that is shared by other businesses so it fills up fast. We passed it and didn't realize so we parked in the nearby neighborhood and just walked over. My bf ordered 2 beers, we got some lemon pepper dry rub wings, fries, and brioche link which were all fantastic. The fries here are THICK but very good!! Love the crispy bits and they're not oily, perfectly salted as well. Their Cusabi Ranch is a MUST try. I dipped both my wings and fries in them. It's a cucumber wasabi ranch dip and super refreshing!! Overall the vibe and food were great, drinks and prices excellent, and staff, even better. A really nice neighborhood sports bar. There are plenty of TVs and comfortable bar and table seating. The beer menu is large and the food selection is solid, consisting of sports bar favorites like wings, burgers, and hot dogs. I'm not a huge hot dog fan, but I enjoyed the variety of sausage options here, and it was fun to try the "exotics" like lamb, duck, and boar. A sports bar with a great beer selection, primarily sausage menu with numerous topping options (grilled onions, peppers, etc., etc. etc.), and really friendly service....we wish we lived closer. There were 3 vegan sausage options, partner had the Italian with grilled onions and cheese, I had the spicy pepper with grilled onions and peppers. Side of large fries. The spicy pepper was not overly hot and I really enjoyed it. The Italian was enjoyed as well, all a matter of taste. Fries were perfect. In short, food could not be better. The Irish Red went perfectly with the Spicy Pepper for me, an ale worked well with the Italian Sausage. We ate outside enjoying the cool evening weather; inside were multiple TV's showing sports with a bunch of people enjoying themselves. Came here for Trivia night on a Wednesday night, and I had a great time! I was initially a bit worried with how empty it was at 6-7 pm, but it quickly filled up as trivia night started at 8pm. Though we didn't win, I loved the informal non-stressed format, and felt like I even learned a bit of new things! I also loved the service, the servers and manager were very down to earth, telling us what they're about, and always checking in to make sure we have everything we needed. The food unfortunately, was just ok. I had the Atwater Brackwurst, which was longer than the other dogs, and this was probably the best thing. For condiments we had grilled onions and peppers which had a sweetness that gave a great contrast to the hot and salty texture of the meat. I wish there were more condiments over the ends of the meats that stuck out of the bun though. The fries and Coxhinhas I wasn't as big a fan of. While the coxinhas were fried perfectly, the chicken that was inside was bland and dry, and the sauce that we had was a chipotle aioli that was also too bland, like a straight up mayonnaise. I wanted a BBQ sauce with the steak cut fries (preferred thinner fries) but instead came with a habanero aioli that was also too much like mayo. Came here Wednesday night for trivia around 6 PM, and there were plenty of seats available. If you're here for trivia, it actually doesn't start until 8 PM, which is when people start trickling in. They have their own parking lot, but it's quite compact, so we ended up parking on the street. Metered parking is free after 8 PM and costs 25 cents every 15 minutes. Happy hour applies to drinks only and runs from 3 PM to 7 PM. I got the Hibiscus Apple Cider, and it honestly tasted like a regular fizzy soda. You could barely taste the alcohol, which might be a plus for some. When the rest of my party arrived, we ordered the Atwater Knackwurst, French Fries (large), and Coxinhas. For the Atwater Knackwurst, we chose onions and bell peppers as our two toppings. The onions and bell peppers were sweet. The sausage itself was grilled and delicious but it tasted like a standard sausage to me. As for the fries, I wish they were a bit thinner and crispier since they were a bit too mushy and large for my liking. Other than that, there was nothing special about them. We also requested BBQ sauce, but there must have been a mix-up since we received the habanero aioli instead. For the Coxinhas, the dough was crispy on the outside but soft when biting it. Inside, it contained some well seasoned shredded chicken. For this appetizer, we paired it with some chipotle aioli sauce. Though we didn't get a chance to try any other sauces, both the chipotle and habanero aioli contained a lot of mayo with lacking chipotle and habanero flavors. Overall, I really loved the service. I believe it was Zel who helped us - she was very welcoming, kind, and informative. This restaurant is great for hanging out, watching sports, trying new food and beer, and playing trivia. Parking can either be easy or difficult, depending on the time and day. Regardless, I would love to be back for another trivia or a showing of a game. read more

I absolutely love this place! The staff is very friendly and very attentive. The beer selection was outstanding I love every beer that I tried. I wasn't a huge fan of the hotdogs they seemed a little bit to Bready for me and the link was good. My favorite food was the pretzel definitely feeling but I wouldn't suggest eating it if you plan on drinking a lot LOL I was so full for the rest of the night. As fate would have it, I've now had the chance to visit both Link N Hops locations. (On different days...) We started in Atwater Village in July before a "Poetry Circus" event happening nearby in Griffith Park. As a vegetarian family, to be able to go into a beer and sausage place and have so many options, is quite a coup in the comfort food world for us. They have 4 kinds of vegan sausage available to build sandwiches around, plus a Beyond Burger which doubles as perfect for gluten free people...like my wife. I had the Smoked Apple Sausage with onions, cheddar cheese and sweet peppers. And I added whole grain mustard at the table. This was messy but DELICIOUS. I complemented this with a sour beer from their extensive beer menu. I made a note that thi was from San Diego, but by the time I was ready to write down the actual brewery, I was well into the beer and what I typed made no sense...let's just say, whatever this sour beer was, it was perfect. I loved it. Actually everything was delicious. (And that's not just the beer talking...) My wife did have a Beyond Burger, wrapped in lettuce to complete her gluten-free comfort food fantasy...it was perfectly cooked, pink on the inside, just like they recommend you do. We shared a side of perfectly thick french fries which came with two choices of sauce (we got BBQ and curry ketchup and enjoyed both.) This was the perfect comfort meal. With a location, slightly closer in Sunland Tujunga, we're getting really close to the "it's all over" benchmark for when an insanely crave-worthy vegetarian sausage experience starts to drain all the money out of our bank account. Speaking of the Sunland Tujunga location...I was randomly driving home (to Van Nuys) from La Canada Flintridge (Sunland Tujunga...La Canada Flintridge...what is it about these towns along the 210 that need to team up???) hoping to spot something to eat and how delighted I was to find another Link N Hops! I was again coming from a poetry reading (what is it with vegetarian sausage and before or after poetry events???) I again get the Vegan Smoked Apple and fries which was again delicious...I also thought the woman behind the counter was so incredibly friendly and endearing. Besides the fact that I love the food, she made me feel so welcome at the restaurant. What a wonderful beacon of customer service light! We're just waiting for another Link N Hops to open even closer...maybe just over the mountain in Burbank...then North Hollywood...then Van Nuys...then it will, truly, all be over. read more

Five stars for good food and amazing customer service. A winning combination that's very hard to find these days. Most of the time, you get good food but customer service sucks while some others, get customer service right but food sucks. This establishment in Atwater Village is highly recommended for getting it right. While it's known to be a bar offering 24 domestic and international craft beer, they also offer gourmet sausages (including vegan options). Although they have hoppy hour and late night specials for drinks, I didn't come here for that reason as I don't drink beer or any alcohol. That doesn't mean that I'll skip this kind of place. Who says no for a sausage craving? Not me, that's for sure! So I had the off the menu item, Fries Gone Wild with Large Belgium Fries, bratwurst sausage, nacho cheese, tomatoes, sautéed onions and jalapeños. I was assisted by a very friendly guy, Andy who surprised me with a big plate of this awesome deliciousness served in a newspaper designed liner. One bite, I literally screamed OMG! It was so good! The fries, the sausage, the sauce, the veggies, they were all jaw dropping! It was one hell of a treat! I literally felt like I did myself a favor for indulging in this heavenly plate of goodness. I will definitely be back, not for the drinks but for their good food. I will probably try the $6 sausage lunch special. read more
