First and most importantly, the people. Service was awesome. Bartenders seemed so genuine like your ideal friendly neighborhood bar. They strike up an actual conversation with you. Amazing beer selection for both those feeling adventurous and for those who stick to what they know. TVs inside and out on the patio to watch the game. They seem to put multiple games on if you need to multitask. Love the wooden interior and the leathery booths. Seating options for small groups, large groups and spots for those going solo. Food Backyard Burger: 10/10 Exactly what you're looking for and the double patty wasn't insanely filling. More room for snacks! LA Pretzel: 6/10 Not the best pretzel. Plus I like mine with salt crystals but the game was on and we bought it for good luck! Easy to snack on but don't save it for last like we did since it gets cold and dry if it sits out. Comes with both cheese and mustard. Points for that. Can't go wrong there. Hoping to try more snacks and desserts next time! Overall, this is a great spot to catch up with a group of friends, maybe a casual date, or even swing by just to watch the game. I'll be back soon!

A great vibe will be found here. The drinks are delicious and their beers are wonderful. It has an old LA feel when you are seated at the bar. The staff are friendly, the music they play (when I was there), is the music I listened to in the 1970's and everyone is down to earth. It's a fun, local watering hole that I enjoy to go to in Echo Park.

This place is a go to from Dodgers Stadium. The service here is great. The drinks are good here. This bar is in a nice area in LA

This place is cool! If you're looking for food I recommend the spicy chicken sandwich with a basket of tater tots. I will say to be careful though because it does pack a spicy punch. If you're not so keen on spice you can go with their regular one but I truly recommend the spice one, but only if you can handle the HEAT!! I gotta thank the bartender for recommending it. It's definitely gonna be my go to meal at The Douglas. It's right next to the Dodger Stadium, so if your looking for place to celebrate after a win. It's definitely the go to spot!

Parking is a hassle, but food is good and beer is always flowing. I light burger and seasoned fries can never go wrong.

Short: An old school hole in the wall bar with tasty bar food, house brewed beer and a great atmosphere. Long: I really enjoyed my time at The Douglas, this old school bar is a hole in the wall and I highly recommend checking out! Great atmosphere for a Dodgers game as well. The bar food was really good, good flavor for a solid price! I really enjoyed the patty melt, the crunchy toast and the beef patty's were both crispy but full of flavor! The Douglas features a large selection of house beer and ciders, I tried the House Pilsner and I really enjoyed it! Service was friendly and nice. Overall, if in the area and looking for some solid beer and pub food this is a top pick!

The Douglas - a.k.a. The Ducklas This joint has a vast and storied history. I just don't know what it is. I do know that it involves ducks, golf, burgers, beers, chill locals and Dodgertown. The beer selection was ridiculous. The FALAFEL was out of this world. And the TATER TOTS slayed. My buddy asked for some HOT SAUCE that had him in a drippy 'n angry sweat for a good half hour. If you love the heat, try that stuff. These guys also serve breakfast Wednesday through Sunday 9a-Noon.

Popped by here with my friends before a Dodger game. I got the Caesar salad and chicken wings. The Caesar salad was packed with flavor. And the chicken wings were absolutely amazing, perfectly seasoned and didn't even need a sauce for dipping. My bf absolutely loved his ground beef nachos. When I say the ground beef was delicious, I am not exaggerating!!! To be fair all the food my friends purchased looked tasty as well as they agreed the food was amazing. This place has a very relaxing energy with outside seating. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. Come here and grab a bite to eat!

A great neighborhood hangout in Silver Lake. Very "tre casual" here. Sit by the bar, watch sports, chat with the owners and staff while sipping on cold beers. That kinda place...ya know what I mean. We felt very welcomed and comfy at our large round booth in the corner after walking around the Silver Lake Flea Market on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered a bunch of "Bar" foods to share. Not a place to diet...everything is caloric and fried but YUM!!!!

Good service, really great beer and cider, nice atmosphere, decent bar food. The location is near the Chinatown Metro station, so we walked the 0.2 miles. Everyone goes the opposite way from that station, going to Chinatown. Instead, we went the opposite way. It's the second time I've gone east from that station, walking on N Spring Street (used it once to go to Majordomo...HPB is a lot closer). Learnt that it's better to keep on the west side of Spring (next to the park), rather than cross immediately. The homeless encampments are really built up on the East side, fully occupying the sidewalk, making you walk in traffic. It's a pretty industrial part of the city, with a bit of street parking near the brewery. It was already fairly busy less than an hour after opening on a Saturday. It's 'sit-yourself', with both outdoor and indoor seating. There are multiple lines where you can place both your food and beer order. Beers are given right away, with food being delivered to your table later. Ended up placing my entire order at once, closing it out immediately. They use Toast as their payment processor, making it easy to get a digital receipt. Rattlesnake Wit Pitcher ($33) - enough for 4 pints. Witbier is my favorite style, and this one really hit the mark for me. Extremely light and fresh. Will seek this out to see if the cans are as good as the draught was. Granada Sincere Cider ($12) - my wife enjoyed her draft apple cider. Three food items, all pretty solid. Fish Chips appetizers ($18.50) used smaller cod pieces, well fried with decent fries. The Chips & Queso ($7.25) came out first: not a huge amount, but thick greasy chips that tasted good in the homemade yellow queso. Our cashier suggested animal cheese wedges ($12) - sidewinder french fried potatoes, covered in a chipotle sauce with grilled onions. It was tasty. All the bathrooms (three I think) are private gender neutral, with a common sink for washing. It got more and more crowded as we sat, and by the time we left an hour later, all the tables were taken. Popular place on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

[Parking]: Metered parking wasn't super easy to find and I had to park two blocks away (near intersection of Yale St & W College St) from Chinatown Central Plaza. [Event]: General Lee's is best known for hosting weekday Hong Kong style Mahjong night (sponsored by Mahjong Underground) and please check the IG page for the exact date (e.g. February 2026 was every Wednesday and March 2026 is every Monday). No RSVP is required and our party just simply walked in at 8 PM sharp. Free admission, but 21+ only. [Pro tip]: Please come as early as the cocktail lounge can get pretty crowded within 15 minutes of opening time (8 PM). Otherwise Mahjong tables will be taken up pretty quickly. [Experience]: There were 7 beginner tables on the 2nd level and 9 advanced table on the 1st level. The lounge had DJ playing music so the lounge can get a bit loud. The beginner tables had two laminated pages on how to read Mahjong tiles and how to play Hong Kong style Mahjong. The players at the beginner tables were friendly and our table played open-hand, but it would be great if an actual instructor can teach us more advanced rules. Restroom (unisex) was quite clean. [Conclusion]: Expect packed crowd on Mahjong nights with friendly Mahjong players, but this is not exactly the best place to really learn how to play Mahjong. I see this lounge as more of a place to socialize with other strangers.
