Don't do it. This a review for delivery (I ordered on DoorDash). My food did arrive well-packed and on schedule, so those are the reasons for the 2 stars. I ordered the pork dumplings and the dan dan noodles. The food was edible, but it was lukewarm on delivery, and none of it tasted fresh. The dumplings had very stiff wrappings, indicating that they were not fresh. The noodles were incredibly soft/overcooked. The flavors weren't bad, but they weren't authentic. The spiciness of the noodles was not mala. I had a craving and saw that Ling's was reasonably nearby. I ignored a lot of the reviews because they had more to do with taking a long time for an order, and as this was for delivery, I wasn't very worried. However, the food isn't good. Was super excited to try this new dumpling place in armature Works. We love dumplings and have been looking forward to this. We started off with the smash cucumbers salad, which had very little flavor. We got the ginger shrimp dumplings and honestly, they tasted like they were not even cooked. The dough of the dumpling was super hard and undercooked and they were cold when we got them. We honestly couldn't even eat these. The girl working the front was really nice and it was pretty fast service. I am willing to go back to try their soup dumplings or noodles but do not have high hopes and would honestly not recommend anything else. read more

I wanted it to be better, I really did! The lady was super nice and very friendly which gave me high hopes. However, the service is where Ling's performance peaked and it was downhill from there. I ordered a Thai Tea and pork soup dumplings. The Thai tea was okay but very watered down. I also requested light ice, which did not happen. The flavor on the soup dumplings was fairly good but 2 of 6 dumplings had already broke before I had a chance to eat them and 2 others had dry, stiff, almost burnt bottoms. I wish I had checked Yelp first but it was one of those deals where we were hungry and my son picked it because he likes dumplings and you can just tell, it's poorly managed. I will give them this, it was a Sunday and Armature Works was busy but they didn't have a particularly long line and yet, it still took forever! I found it to be very expensive as well. 10 dumplings for $20 seems a bit much especially when it took nearly 30 minutes and looked very lackluster. I almost never leave food behind, but after two dumplings I tapped out. Love the idea of building your own and choosing your sauce, and toppings but the dough was chewy and stale. Came on 1/30 for lunar new year event at Armature so they were pretty busy. We got a 10% discount coupon from the event (red envelope). Ordered dan dan noodles and soup dumplings (6 ct for $12.95). Took my name and phone number but gave no receipt. Said I'd get a text when the food was ready. That's nice so we can continue walking around. Soup dumplings were small, similar to those you'd get frozen (from Asian grocery). They were definitely juicy, but I wouldn't consider them soup dumplings. I honestly think they could pass for soup dumplings if the meat filling was smaller and there was more soup inside. I'd at least consider them mini soup dumplings. Anyway they were yummy still. Dan dan noodles are not what I expected. I've only had dan dan noodles twice and from different restaurants but I don't think either of them had the noodles that creamy. These from Ling's were covered in a peanut-y cream sauce almost. Unusual favor and noodle texture to me. The flat thin noodles were also a surprise as I was expecting the thicker round noodle. They weren't bad, but the strong peanut cream flavor had be thinking it was more of a frozen PF changs tv dinner. Service was simple and straightforward. Located in Armature Works (Tampa Riverwalk). Ordered the chicken kimchi dumplings ($11.95) and the pork & beef soup dumplings ($12.95). I personally was not a big fan of the kimchi dumplings, but the soup dumplings were amazing! There is a little bit of a wait for the soup dumplings since they are prepared fresh upon order, but I had the time so I did not mind. They do offer a 'build your own' dumpling basket which allows for customers to customize their dumplings! There is also an assortment of drinks and boba to choose from as well! I have to say for this place to be in a pretty popular area in Tampa I did not expect my taste buds to be so excited and happy: I ordered the ginger shrimp dumplings with the scallion spicy aioli, scallion lemon aioli on the side and cilantro scallions and a little bit of chili flakes on top when I got my order, I actually put the scallion lemon aïoli on top and when I tell you that it set my entire taste buds to open up is an understatement. The dumpling itself is crunchy in the right spots, but soft when you wanna chew it and it's juicy and all of the flavors combine are just bursting in your mouth. I will say I definitely enjoyed every single bite. It was a very good surprise. This is a newer spot in Armature Works. Hubs and I decided to make an early date for lunch to try it out on Father's Day. It's a walk up and order place and they text you when your order is ready. Staff seemed bored when we walked up. I decided on the beef bulgogi dumplings which from the description sounded good. I love Korean food and bulgogi so it's a win for me :) think again! Not sure if they actually make these fresh the day of or not, I wanna say they do given the steamers inside the place. It tasted nothing like bulgogi. Hubs is Korean and even agreed. They had so much topping on it also that it just drowned the dumplings. And I'm not sure if it was the fact that they were sitting in the sauce that made them soggy to the point where the entire bottom of the dumplings were falling off or if it was just poor quality of the dumpling itself. Because I've had my fair share of dumplings and I've never had that happen! I just cannot recommend this place. We paid over $30 for 2 containers of 6 dumplings. And they were horrible. read more

The cucumber salad hardly had any flavor to it and dumplings both pork and beef tasted like they were possibly microwaved from frozen. Y'all, I wanted this to be great but it's just very average. Lots to choose from but I ended up with soup dumplings because I order those wherever I go! Unfortunately, they didn't have much broth at all and were nothing to write home about. Also, my husband can usually eat dumplings with his allergies, but apparently all of their dumplings have milk in them so he could not. I'm wondering what they're using that other places do not that would make milk an ingredient in every dumpling. I would consider trying some of their other, non-soup dumplings in the future but hopefully they get it together soon. read more

The soup dumplings were good flavor wise, but I would have loved to have more soup in them so they can really explode when you bit into them. They also tasted almost identical to some frozen soup dumplings I've bought at Costco multiple times, so maybe they're just frozen? The Dan Dan noodles were just okay. They're very very peanut sauce flavor forward. The peanut flavor was very over powering over any other flavor besides some mild spice. Lings has been on my to-do list since they opened. I visited recently and tried the beef and the chicken kimchi dumplings. Loved the beef dumplings way more than the chicken ones. The chicken ones had kimchi which was ok but needed an extra kick of something. The beef dumplings sadly were cold. Like they had sat out from a previous order and been given to me. The flavor was great but def a missed opportunity on a piping hot dish. Unfortunate because they let you know at ordering that it will be made fresh and take about 10 minutes. The beef dumplings also could have used a sauce they had their own toppings which were nice but needed to be dunked. Will come back to try the shrimp dumplings next time read more

i had an excellent experience at ling's with a friend. i ordered the pork scallion dumplings and my friend asked the staff to surprise him with their favorite flavors: mine were delicious and so were his! they tasted freshly made and their chili crisp was really good. we waited less than 10 mins for the food to be made to order and they hit the spot. the orders were filling but nothing too heavy. we didn't eat near the stand, we took it outside, but it looked like there was a small nearby seating area. i'll definitely come back for this if i'm in armature works again! read more

Armature is a great place for when you and your people want to have options for what you'll each eat. I went with Ling's because I'm always interested in Asian food. I ordered the Dan Dan Noodles. It was a little wait but nothing too crazy. They looked really yummy with all the toppings and bokchoy. The noodles had good texture but the dough itself was lacking and bland. Of course everything on top helps but it takes effort to really incorporate it and even then the blandness of the noddles come through. But it was filling. I ended up eating the whole dish (I thought I would only eat half). Overall, it was ok, but not great. I may or may not eat here again. I'm definitely not going out of my way for it. read more

We got the soup dumplings and the ginger shrimp dumplings. The soup dumplings had very little broth in them, some with none. They also all were in little tin cups that they stick to. This means you can't put it in your mouth while, you have to tear it all apart with a spoon or chop sticks making a complete mess to eat.
