First and only visit (so far)... Shared a few things with some Yelp friends and really finding myself experiencing new stuff... I really enjoyed my Crossbridge soup... all but the tofu. I had mine with the fish. I even did the quail egg. Something that is not normally a part of my food intake. It was all very tasty, from those who are more familiar, apparently it's quite authentic and everyone ejoyed their meals too. Some stuff was wayyyy too spicy for me.... and I used to love lots of spice - like makes you sweat kind of spice... and I just can't do it anymore. HAHA But we shared some apps like the cucumber salad, crab rangoon and soup dumplings... I will definitely be back. I suggest going in a group to share stuff like we did too!

Crab Rangoon... always a tasty app.

Wow... Sichuan Peppercorn Soup Broth! A flavor profile I love, as a soup... and it was delicious! I ordered the Peppercorn soup with Fatty Beef, and it was so good. I would order it again and again. I was with a fun group of yelpers (thanks for setting it up, Dave!) and we all had a great time. Spice levels sort of depend on what soup you order. The basic broth is mild, and yummy according to Yelper Alicia (although she was adding chili oil which is on the table, to it... to add a little more heat.)! She ordered the Fish soup... which had Red Grouper in it. She was happy. Tina ordered the SPICY soup broth (the hottest level) and seemed to enjoy that also. The Peppercorn soup that the rest of us had, is about a medium heat level (although that is subjective to what you are used to.) But it all was delicious... and the service was excellent too! We did order some apps... crushed cucumber salad, crab rangoon and of course, the soup dumplings. They were all good too. Highly recommended!

It is about 3.5 stars. This restaurant serve special cross bridge noodles. Cross bridge noodle is Yunnan culture with over 100 year history. The story is a wife delivery food to her husband who study in the island by crossing a bridge. She found out this method to keep the warm tasty food. Then this method is widely use for the rice noodles. I got the classic original flavor broth beef offal and add cost for additional seafood proteins. Seem like additional cost is not worth the money. Because they put the seafood and beef offal in same serving box. Seem like additional cost did not show additional quantity for food. I said that is because I saw the other dish we have only the beef offal have the same quantity. The best way to present it is serve the seafood in separate dish. The offal is very chewy. It is a bit hard to chew. Soup base is good. The add on is good too due to many ingredients. The other cross bridge noodles place I have visit have option for noodle shape. They come in different thickness rice noodles. I think they can learn from that. Overall is good In service. This tradition serving is just like little personal hot pot. Please be careful for not touch the hot section of the bowl.

Tampa Bay FINALLY has a Yunnan style "crossing bridge rice noodle" shop by USF, next door to Tsaocaa. That is really all the information you need to know of you are interested in learning more about Chinese cuisine. In the meantime, the appetizers are inexpensive and plentiful. I tried both the cold cucumbers to balance the heat of the noodles. And, their Xiao Long Bao, which were tasty with a strong crab flavor, but not made in house. The broth here comes underseasoned for a healthier flavor. There is salt and house chili oil on the table to bring the seasoning up to what you are probability used to. This is not a hotpot restaurant. There are about 20 or more broth combinations to choose from. My favorite at any Yunnan soup house is Peppercorn with fatty beef. They have something for everyone, including fried rice and lomein.

It was a cool experience! I've never had Yunnan Crossing the Bridge rice noodle soup until now. It was quite enjoyable. We had a little bit of a slow start. We arrived at 11:00 am (opening time) and pretty much picked our own table. No one was at the counter to greet us. Most likely because they were busy getting ready for the lunch service. It gave us time to look over the menu. The menu wasn't too terribly complicated. There are 5 basic broth flavors. The non-spicy options are original, tomato, and pickled pepper broth. The spicy options are numbing Sichuan peppercorn and spicy broth. I originally wanted to try the Sichuan peppercorn, but I wasn't sure what numbing meant at the time. Now I know that it refers to the tingling sensation you get with that particular spice. I would love to try a sample of it one day. Instead, I played it safe by getting the pickled pepper broth. It turned out to be a great choice along with the fatty beef and accompaniments. Everything was presented beautifully. You get your tray, rice noodles, and boiling hot broth delivered to your table. The host added the quail egg first, then the meat and veggies. He did that so well. I would have probably splashed the broth all over myself. It doesn't take long for it to cook and blend together. The fatty beef was very good. I really liked that quail egg. I've had it at other restaurants and didn't like it. This one tasted great! The broth wasn't salty, and the pickled pepper broth (I think a chicken base) was actually quite good. I could taste the pickled pepper. It was a fresh taste. Yes, very simple but also very satisfying. I'd definitely get the same rice noodle soup again. It had tofu skin, green scallions, wood ear mushrooms, and all kinds of interesting flavors. I'm also thankful for the other Yelp reviews and tips. I didn't add the lettuce (to keep it from tasting like romaine). The choice of fatty beef and the selection of the pickled pepper broth worked out in my favor. It definitely suited my taste buds. I will definitely go back to try the Sichuan peppercorn broth. I just need to be in the mood for spicy.

Finally, Tampa has a place that serves Yunnan Style Rice Noodles! Service is fast and friendly, owing to the fact that most of the rice noodle dishes are essentially cook it yourself at the table. The ingredients that come with your noodles is nice and varied while the soup itself is decent, although a bit on the bland side. I ordered the Pickled Pepper Fatty Beef Noodle Soup and the broth definitely got the sour part down. However, I wish it would be a bit spicier. But overall, for the pricing, it was still a decent meal. As a newly opened restaurant, it definitely has a modern and clean interior. I would definitely come back again to try some of the other options :)

After a long night of (unfortunate) heavy drinking, my boyfriend and I were in need of soul-healing soup and Chenji Noodle House was exactly what we needed. I got the tomato fatty beef soup and he got the picked pepper chicken soup and we were both satisfied with everything. The flavor of the broth was so good, I even added some chili oil to mine and it was exactly the amount of spice I wanted. I'm not a huge fan of spicy food, so the unspicy, slightly sweet tomato broth with a hint of spice from the chili oil was that perfect balance. I highly recommend coming here whether it be in the winter for a warming soup, or with a hangover.

Went with some friends for lunch. We weren't expecting much and they had just opened so there was still some construction being done inside. We were the only ones there and I think our waitress wasn't super fluent in English. But she tried her best to explain everything and it was a super unique experience, a but like hotpot but just as one dish. She also basically cooked it for us right on the table. The broth was super flavorful and it was a fun experience!

I am a huge fan of Asian food, yes I too am Asian but that's not why. It's the full flavors and the spicy dishes that give you a very good depth. CHENJI NOODLE HOUSE it is another Great example some flavor full Asian Cuisine. As a newer restaurant they still have a few kinks to knock out, but the flavors are very good. The staff seems to be family and they are just getting the restaurant up and running but they are what to assist and make great recommendations The interior was very well thought out and the space has plenty of seating for smaller groups, not a great location if you want a large group to sit together. Overall 4 stars and I highly recommending eating there as the Togo noodles I received required me to cook them more when I got home. Also I've never had a spicy beef soup with what seemed to be frozen peas, corn and carrots from one of those frozen mix bags. Looking forward to trying it again and giving it a higher rating!!

Joining fellow yelpers at unofficial yelp event has also been fun, not to mention dining at Chenji, a unique local restaurant serving Crossing-the-bridge Noodles originated from Yunnan, China. The sale point is its noodle soup broth with 5 base flavors: original, tomato, picked pepper, Sichuan pepper and spicy broth. Picking the right broth base determines the dining experiences. 5 of us selected original, Sichuan pepper and spicy broth. Personally, I think the Sichuan pepper broth has the most flavor while balancing the hotness. If you need more kick, try the spicy broth. The rest of soup ingredients including meat/seafood, rice noodle, pickle and vegetable, were placed in a separate tray which the host presented it to us first, then mixed it with the soup base. The prepared noodle soup was placed in a hot container and served. Most of us picked fatty beef because it was very tender. We also shared 3 appetizers: steam soup dumplings (6pcs), cucumber salad and crab rangoon (6). All were good. The price was very reasonable in term of the portion and quality. I probably will share the noodle soup with friends and order few more appetizers to try next time. Overall, Chenji is a great local restaurant to enjoy food and time with friends and families.

Don't sleep on this restaurant just because it's at the Hard Rock Casino - Jubao Palace Noodle Bar…read moreslaps so good, it will make you "hit" on a hard 20. After being here a few times, Jubao Noodle Bar is where it's at and truthfully do fine by itself without the casino. So at this point, you should already know that Jubao Noodle Bar is located within the Seminole Hard Rock Casino & Hotel - Tampa. However, it should be recognized that navigating the casino floor does get frustrating. The easiest point of reference is to first understand that the base casino floor is essentially separated into two parts (Part one is where the curved escalators and hotel towers are at and part 2 is the larger part, containing the Hard Rock Cafe and the majority of the table games). Jubao Palace Noodle Bar is located right after the point where the hall from part one connects to part 2. Clear as mud right? Now that you've successfully navigated here, it should be noted that the line and wait can get ridiculous. Not sure if there are specific times when it gets super busy, but it seems like it doesn't die down after lunch hours hit. The small size and amount of tables doesn't necessarily accommodate to the traffic. Be prepared to wait. Speaking of tables, there are several regular tables that seat up to 4 patrons, however the majority of the seating are high tops and bar seating. Don't be alarmed if you get paired at the high tops with other random patrons. The menu itself is very simple, but I can assure you that you can't really go wrong with any of the choices. My "go-to's" are usually the roast duck noodle soup (with egg noodles) and any of the fried rice (crab is the best though). They do offer snow pea leaves which is a Cantonese cuisine classic. It's a great restaurant that is overshadowed by the venue that it's located in.
