There are plenty of climbing rocks to navigate and explore as you arrive at the lake, so even though it can get busy, you can still find a nice private area. What the videos DIDN'T inform us of, was the $12 entrance fee, or the fact that this hike is a bit difficult for some! I am pregnant, so it was a great deal more challenging for me. On the way up to the lake, I witnessed a lot of very young children who were not happy to be walking. My 6 year old kept up very well, however! I was honestly pretty shocked he did better than I did! We made it up, and walked around the entire lake. We didn't see any axolotl's so we were pretty disappointed. On the way out to go home, we happened to hear a little girl yell "OH MY GOSH AN AXOLOTL!" So that was our cue to return to go see them! They were in a rather awkward spot right in the middle of the lake. I am SO happy we got to see them before we left! This was such a fun little early day trip with my little family! We ended up leaving and going straight to Ogden Canyon for a wedding reception that night, so it was overall a very long day. With it being so long and me being pregnant, I was REALLY worried that I was going to be sore, but I wasn't! I have already told others about it, and I made SURE to include the hiking aspect and price in my own online video so others are more informed prior to making the trip!

Current Creek campground is a large place with 4 loops. My favorite is D loop because it's closest to the lake. Bathrooms have flush toilets but no showers. Each camp site has a picnic table, grill, fire pit and concrete pad. The camp host station sells ice, firewood and some bare essentials. The star of the show is the lake. Usually you'll find me sitting on the shore waiting for a fish to bite. I've caught rainbows and tiger trout. But even if you don't catch anything the views are spectacular. If you should get lucky and decide to keep your catch there is a fish cleaning station by the boat ramp. Directions, there are 3 ways to get there all involve a bit of graded dirt road. You can take hwy 40 to the Current Creek Road and drive up next to the river, then around the lake. Next option is to turn off hwy 40 at the chicken creek area and take FS road #82. The turn is just before the UDOT facility. Lastly you can take center street from Heber past the Timber Lakes community. There is no cell phone service at the lake or campground. :)

I appreciate any effort on the city to bring local parks and ponds for the public to enjoy.

This was another one of those hikes that was stunning from beginning to end near Alpine, Utah. Trail begins with a surrounding of aspen trees and eventually becomes an exposed area as you climb up the side of the mountain towards the lake. There were two water crossings at this time and easy to cross with the logs and rocks. For the most part, the trail was narrow and rocky with a steady incline. Required to drive on a bumpy dirt road for ~3 miles. Recommend a high clearance vehicle. Parking lot can fill up fast at the trailhead because the people who kayak, swim, etc at the Silver Lake Flat Reservoir also park in this area. Unfortunately, the restrooms were disgusting and not maintained at this time. Short video of the hike for those interested! https://youtu.be/T2qSWpR7pIM

The moment I stepped outside of the venue and was standing at the second level--I can see the beautiful mountains and salt flats. I'm a big fan of nature and sunsets, so this experience was surreal and eerie. The sounds of the music and being able to see the crowd was amazing. I spent more time outdoors than I did indoors. No issues with ticketing, restrooms and ordering drinks. They were moving pretty fast. I can't comment on parking since we took a party bus to the venue, but the drive-in and drop off wasn't complicated. The building itself has this "moorish" influence exterior, but not all original from what I understood. Still a bit vintage, unique and cool looking. The inside is an open space. I don't recall any seating. Mainly a standup setting with two levels. I look forward to coming back to this venue again this year to experience it different seasons/time.
