trails have been thin, but rec'd new snow the night before which was great. Trails are beautiful And are 5 stars. Our 3 hr unguided trip had to be changed to a 2 hr guided trip only when I called two days prior to check on the trail conditions. We otherwise would have shown up the morning of with that surprise. So you can imagine the pricing had to change too, which required a lot of discussions. They do not allow refunds (even when they can't deliver what you signed up and paid for)- only allow reschedules which doesn't work well if you are visiting. If you've never ridden a snowmobile before, I highly recommend paying a little extra for the guided tour. We originally booked a self-guided ride, but a couple of days before our reservation we got a call letting us know snow levels were too low (early December) and--for safety reasons--it needed to be guided instead. Honestly, we're so glad it worked out that way. Snowmobiles are heavier than you'd expect, and if you tip over or get stuck (which happened to us a couple of times!), having a guide there makes all the difference. Curtis and Hank were incredibly patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable. They coached us through getting unstuck, celebrated with us when we got the hang of things, and always made sure we were moving at a pace that felt comfortable. They even offered to take photos at the scenic stops, which we really appreciated. From making the reservation with Adam and Rob to riding out with Curtis and Hank, the entire experience was fantastic. It's very clear that safety is the number one priority at Uinta Recreation. Wonderful experience at Uinta Recreation. Streamlined check-in process, very clear maps of the area, and brand new side by sides. The forest that we rode in offered a combination of fire roads for a Baja like experience, as well as more rugged trails for a more technical route, with incredible views of mountains, forest, and lakes. They were so helpful with our experience. They made sure to take the time to explain the ins and outs of the trails and how to work everything! The trail was absolutely stunning and it's not guided so you don't have to follow everyone's dust! They were extremely accommodating when we were 30 minutes late to get back (I'm pregnant and only would allow my husband to go 5mph) they also take you to a drop off location so you don't have to pay for the state park entrance fee. The absolute best experience given to a first timer, never snowmobiled before! When we pulled up, the snowmobiles were already on the back of the truck, ready to go! We got a brief tutorial of what to expect, some guidance (and a map) of what the trail would be like, look like as well as fitted with helmets for safety. Jake was very patient and answered our questions, providing tips and "what not to do". We drove to the trail start behind Jake who launched the snowmobiles and explained to us all of the details of them, including the all important, "don't set the parking brake and try to take off". The trail was easily visible, marked with orange paint or sticks and views were incredible!! I tipped over at one point, but thankfully family was there to help me out. I highly recommend using this company if you want to snowmobile and if we come back in the summer, we'll hit them up for other activities! Very friendly and easy to work with! *Tip* Don't go out alone if it's your first time snowmobiling because if you fall over, those things are heavy! read more

My husband and I along with a friend in town rented a 4 seater side by side from Uinta Recreation and were not disappointed in the slightest! They make it so convenient to drop off your machine super close to the trailhead. It was super easy to follow their directions and maps given before you head out on the trails. All of their machines are 2020 versions so you don't have to worry about it breaking down while you're high up in the mountains. We purchased the damage waiver and tire liability to have piece of mind. With tax and the extras, our 4 seater came out to be about $400 so this is definitely a splurge activity but a great one if you want to see fantastic views and have a great time. Loved every second of it! As it was our first time going snowmobiling we booked a non-guided ride. Adam let us know they recommend guided tours for first timers. I overlooked it and just booked. After 10 minutes I called back and booked the guided tour which I was so glad we did. After being late Adam still took us in and got us all ready for our rides. The mountains were only 17 minutes away. We got to meet them out there and get ready to ride the Ski-Doo! Cole was amazing in teaching us how to use our machine. Out in the mountains we fell over twice and it was very hard to see as there was so much fog and snow. Huge shoutout to Cole for being an awesome guide and helping us every step of the way. Friendly, super convenient, & high quality rentals. I rented a snowmobile this past weekend. The machine was in great condition, worked flawlessly all day, and the entire service & experience was top notch. The staff were helpful, happy to give advice & direction, gave clear instruction on how to use the machine, & made sure that we knew the area we were going to and how to navigate it. It's so convenient because they drive the machine up and drop it off at the trailhead so all you need to do is park, jump on and go. Then when you come back, you can just text them (if it is was before 4:30pm) and they will come and pick up the machine and you can leave early. No worrying about trailers, load/unload, gassing up, etc. Helmet was included. I also purchased a rental of a backpack that contained a shovel, first aid kit, & bungee puller. I also liked how they had other items for rental (such as goggles, gloves, etc if you forgot any of your stuff). I'd rent from them again for sure. read more

I would highly recommend this company for your outdoor plans. We went snowmobiling yesterday, the process was so simple thanks to Jake. When we arrived, the snowmobiles were already loaded up, he explained the process, fitted us with our helmets and told us to follow him to the location. He unloaded the snowmobiles and we were off. The fill day allows you to travel deeply into the mountains to see 2 beautiful lakes, snow capped mountains, and create great memories! Definitely rent the goggles!!! My boyfriend, brother and I were in town visiting family, all five of us rented our own four wheelers and it was a BLAST. The owner explained everything thoroughly in the beginning, went over how to operate the vehicles with us, and also did an inspection before we started to make sure there weren't any issues when we returned. He explained the map wonderfully so we never got lost. Everyone had an amazing time! We all said this will be a tradition every year we come back. I can't say enough about this facility. First, the prices are AWESOME, but truly, the service is 2nd to none. We initially rented the LAST 2 jet skis from Uinta (probably because they are so fabulous that everyone rents from them). Apparently one of the jet skis had an issue so they called me the night before and so kindly offered for us to keep the one jet ski and they would throw in a kayak and paddle board for our group of 7 people. Um...OK! But then, later that evening, apparently they got the jet ski working, and they said hey, we will give you BOTH jet skis AND the kayak and paddle board just in case it breaks again. Like WHAT???? No additional cost to us, and OH BY THE WAY, we got a discount of 15% for our trouble. We had no trouble. The guys were awesome, so friendly, so helpful. The day at Deer Creek was incredible. Just for fun, I checked prices there to ensure that we got a good deal...and OMG, we got an amazing deal (like 1/4 the price). FYI, you will need a vehicle to tow the skis, but they have trailers for you. THANK YOU SO MUCH UINTA. You guys are awesome. Please never change. You made our visit so so so much fun! read more

My husband and I visited Utah for the first time and knew we wanted to snowmobile. After checking out a few snowmobile rentals near our hotel, Uinta was the closest, had the most availability and was also the least expensive. Joe and Adam were great! It was a very family-friendly environment and you could tell they cared about their business and customer service. We booked the half day self-guided tour (8am-12noon) and it was great pricing. My husband and I each rode the Ski Doo 600 and it had A LOT of horsepower. We got up to 50 mph but it can go as fast as 70 mph! We had a great time and felt the time slot was the perfect amount of time for us. The only downside is the 4 hour time slot includes paperwork and getting up the mountain from the office. We had about 2.5 hours of actual snowmobiling time. Although it was marketed cheaper for the "4 hour half day" we ended up paying about the same for the 2.5 hours. read more

This was the easiest, most fun experience we could have had. Staff was very thorough when explaining the trails on our map, and the controls on the RZR. The wife and I took out the 2 seater RZR 570, it's cheaper than the 1000, and had more than enough power to get us everywhere. We packed lunch and threw it in the trunk - which is shallow, I'd suggest bringing something to tie your stuff down - I had to use my jacket. Also, get ready to come back full of dirt, and your shoes might get a little wet from shallow streams. These guys are awesome. We rented the sleds around 10am and were told to return them by 4pm. We lost track of time and brought them back later than expected. We totally messed up their schedule by coming back late. I probably would have been upset if I were waiting around like they were, but these guys had a good attitude about it. Last weekend myself and my friend called late last minute to try and reserve a side by side for the next morning at 8:00 AM. Within minutes they got back to us, after they were closed and were able to reserve us a spot immediately. They even upgraded us for free to a four seater which was awesome. Once we got there we signed wavers which they clearly went over with everyone. They gave everyone a map and detailed instructions on paths to take and not take, view points, bathrooms along the trails, and detailed information about the different difficulty on each trail. They also go over the vehicle you are driving, how to use it, and safety percautions. Once that was done we were free to drive for 3.5 hours (we did the half day). The vehicles were in top shape and the newest models. The experience was incredible and we had the best time. The trails were amazing and the views were spectacular. The time literally flew by. I would highly recommend doing this to anyone living in or visiting the surrounding area. The staff was friendly and informative, the vehicles were in top shape, and the experience was one I cannot wait to do again. 11 out of 10 recommend. read more

My three friends and I highly recommend Unita Recreation if you are in the park city area and are interested in snowmobiling. They have brand new high quality equipment and even have snow supplies for rent if you forgot or your snow boots. They were very helpful and loaded a trailer with the snowmobiles and transported them to the trailhead for no charge. They dropped us off, showed us the best places to go on a map, and let us loose. We recently had a super fun trip off-roading in a RZR which we rented through Uinta. For most of the people in our group it was the first time we'd done this and Michael did an awesome job explaining various route options, introducing us to the machine, and making sure we felt comfortable with it before he let us loose. We were also provided with goggles and optional helmets. The scenery was absolutely stunning and the trails covered lots of different terrain at various inclines so we were able to work within our comfort and challenge levels.
