Once through the paths, you come out to the small-ish lake where there's a path that leads you all the way around, with plenty of opportunities to go back out to another path. It was semi-busy when we went during a weekday afternoon, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I'd like to come back with my bike and to bring my dog back to possibly swim. I saw a swimming area, but people were fishing nearby, and I knew that my dog would ruin their game! Lovely for a solo / family or date outing on a sunny afternoon or sunsetting evening.

As I understand, the hot springs are on private property, but the owner is ok with people visiting as long as they are respectful of the land and get out at 10pm. You park in the parking lot and then walk a few minutes through the trees until you get to the hot springs. There are some areas that are hotter than others and when you find the "hot spots" it's fun to sink your feet and legs into the pit. It's as close to quicksand than I've ever experienced.

Parking is plentiful and easy-peasy. Luckily there weren't any soccer teams playing on the soccer field we posted up at, so we were able to take up a lot of space. I liked how there were some hilly parts on the side of the field that gives my dog some more interesting sprints. The grass was nice and fluffy, so I laid down for a bit and watched the clouds go by. Lovely breeze and people-watchin'. FYI - this is where the paved Jordan River Parkway (trail) starts/ends. I hit a dead end when I biked here without the pup. Go West, and I promise there is plenty of paved road with beautiful views to keep you goin (I believe it goes for 40+miles!!) You follow the river and can look at the mountains while passing the plentiful trampolines in people's backyards. This will be a summer fave for me (and my pup).

North Lake isn't a playground park or really a picnic park. It's an outdoor sports park, and hiking park, and a great view park. And oh what park it is!

There are bathrooms and also a playground for the kids. They have this cool train you can play on as well. The only thing I didn't see is a fire pit or grill to BBQ. There are a few other spots nearby that have these if you want.

What the videos DIDN'T inform us of, was the $12 entrance fee, or the fact that this hike is a bit difficult for some! I am pregnant, so it was a great deal more challenging for me. On the way up to the lake, I witnessed a lot of very young children who were not happy to be walking. My 6 year old kept up very well, however! I was honestly pretty shocked he did better than I did! We made it up, and walked around the entire lake. We didn't see any axolotl's so we were pretty disappointed. On the way out to go home, we happened to hear a little girl yell "OH MY GOSH AN AXOLOTL!" So that was our cue to return to go see them! They were in a rather awkward spot right in the middle of the lake. I am SO happy we got to see them before we left! This was such a fun little early day trip with my little family! We ended up leaving and going straight to Ogden Canyon for a wedding reception that night, so it was overall a very long day. With it being so long and me being pregnant, I was REALLY worried that I was going to be sore, but I wasn't! So I guess the 14 day rule doesn't apply to everyone! Be prepared for lots of noise from the workers early morning noise and late nights. They disregard the noise rule. So if your on vacation and want to sleep in forget it you'll be up at 4am by noisy trucks and slamming doors. Did I mention the grass that no one cuts, don't plan on eating outside at the picnic tables. The only thing I can say I loved about this park was the view and the water.
