It is a well maintained trail using soft, tan colored dirt, so traction will not be an issue. The first half of the trail does not offer much coverage, so prepare appropriate sunblock as needed. Later you will hike a well-shaded area that is just great for water breaks and resting away from the heat. Trail is partially dog friendly and gets narrow as you head south. You will run into the watershed and want to hike on to enjoy the beautiful jagged cliffs and small canyon. However it is private property so you want be able access it.

I've walked this trail in its entirety only one time, about a year ago, in the Spring sunshine. I…read morestarted at Wheeler Farm and walked, crossing 1300 E, and then continued until the end, passing church farms, backyards, fences, trees, and large fields. I have, however, hiked small portions of this on many occasions. I have lots of fond memories of finding grapes growing along fence and throwing them to catch, of giant clouds of gnats in late Spring, of wildlife, of good conversation, and of leaving the trail to investigate the surrounding neighborhoods. Lately, I've been hiking the very small section of this trail that runs behind Wheeler Farm. The pup and I have been making it a habit to come here and sniff all the things (that's mostly her job) and to get out and enjoy the post-rain, pre-summer gorgeous days. It's entirely flat, and most sections are plenty wide for the dog walkers, runner, strollers, and other people you'll for sure see. The Wheeler Farm part is the most crowded, but follows the creek after ditching the canal and is pretty lovely. It does get buggy from early evening on, after about May (?) so if you're running, you can either move side to side to skip the column, or just run through. Lovely for a walk, it feels a little like you've discovered a secret passageway through the middle of the valley.

Utah has an abundance of beautiful trails that wind in and around nature and if you've not taken…read moreadvantage of them, you're missing out. That was the thought that went through my mind this morning when I decided to hit the trail and appreciate nature. The Peak View Trailhead is in Corner Canyon and leads to multiple paths. It's easy to discover new trails or paths each time you visit. There's a parking lot and restrooms at the trail head and signage that points to various paths that you can take. I also noticed that there's an app you can download that will tell you about the different trails and give you a map so you can pick the path that appeals to you. It's sort of a "choose your own adventure" sort of thing. The paths that I found myself on today were Hyde N Seek, Hoof N Boot, and Canyon Hollow Trail. Each one was beautiful and the fall colors were magnificent. There are many more paths for me to discover-I hope you will too.

This is a multi-use, double wide, moderate rated trail…read more A mountain bikers dream trail. So many bikers today. Parking lot was mostly bikers, and a few of us hikers. This is a pretty dirt trail. It's shady the first part of the trail, until you get higher in elevation then you won't be covered in shade. Trail is rocky, dusty, and dry right now. We need some rain. There are signs that say if the trail is muddy stay off, but you can clearly see the ruts in the trail that the bikes have made riding in the mud. There is a huge paved parking lot with a few picnic tables with covering. They even have a water faucet which I definitely used. Access to many other trails in the area. Some are for hiking only, if you don't want to keep stopping for bikers, even though the rules are stated that bikers need to yield to hikers stay on the footpaths only. Dogs are allowed below the Bonneville Shoreline Trail, but not above. This trail crosses both areas. Please follow this rule as this is our watershed. A big sized deer ran right in front of me pretty early on the trail. Lots of wild life. I also saw lots of birds, (cool hawks), lots of lizards, squirrels, and even a skunk. There is a sign at the trail head that reminds you that you are in cougar country. I didn't see any. Probably because of all the bikers. I also didn't see any snakes. Thank God. There seems to be a lot this year, or maybe there have always been, but people are just posting pictures of their snake encounters more because of social media. I thought for sure I would see one especially up by lone rock. Just because it's so rocky. All in all a pretty good hike 5.7 miles in 3.01 hrs with an elevation gain of 1,138 feet. I'm slow what can I say. *clean bathrooms available **large parking lot #leavenotrace

This is a review from my 20 mile ride on the JRT…read more I started with the intention of just riding to the gym and back... it was 5 miles door to door. This was my first ride in over a year so I should have gone home. No gloves, no padded shorts, one water bottle. I usually ride with three Liters of water. I was feeling good so pressed on with a round trip goal of 20 miles. The trail, in my area, is clean, devoid of trash or dumped garbage. Refreshing and peaceful. Very quiet. Mostly runners, mountain bikers, walkers and the occasional E Bike... maybe going faster than they should but I'm not the Park Ranger. The trail runs under the road in the trailI traveled so there is never the risk of getting hit by a car. In Vegas they have bike lanes but the road is shared and bikers are in constant danger of being hit. This JRT makes me feel safe. Along the way there are businesses in view so if you wanted to take a break or needed assistance resources were not far away. People I encountered were friendly. I saw beavers in the river and a deer. I got a vigorous workout and should have taken it easier on my first ride in a long time but it was so gorgeous out. If your curious about riding the JRT Through Draper I highly recommend it. Safe, beautiful and clean there's no reason I shouldn't get back in shape riding the JRT. Thank you for making this trail available for recreation. NOTE! If you have a road bike, I don't recommend as there are a lot of turns to maneuver.

It's easy to find via GPS and you can do shorter or longer trails-whatever floats your boat. The falls is very pretty and unique. It's a very popular family hike since it's so short and easy. That said, my preferred route is to park at Temple Quarry/Little Cottonwood trailhead and hike up Little Cottonwood trail. You will get to a point where you cross a private drive, but the trail continues if you just keep going straight and follow the signs. Then, eventually, there is a split. Little Cottonwood trail continues to the right and another trail goes uphill to the left - this will take you to the main canyon road, where you can cross, and Lisa Falls trailhead is right there. I don't know the exact mileage because we went all the way up Little Cottonwood Trail, and then back down to the split and that's when we decided to check it out and find out where it went. I've walked the Midvale segment a bunch before, but seeking something different, I headed out for this Murray bit. My launching off point was actually Winchester, and I've done both the segment south to Midvale, and north through Murray. This Murray part is pretty wide open, with less shade than in other areas, save for the area just north of Winchester where there are some designated picnic areas in the trees. It would be a really lovely spot for a bite, should you ever be walking here and not have to stay six feet away from someone. This segment is also very well maintained, and quite well-trafficked. In fact, if you're looking to stay six feet away from others, then you will probably want to pick somewhere else to go on the weekends. Usually a light traffic area, it seems that more and more people needing a walk are showing up here. It rambles along the river, with a few choices to cross by bridge, and some areas that let you wind up and around adjacent to neighborhoods. It's paved, and accessible to all, though remember there are no potties past the parking lot.
