Some rocks to make you slow down, some grades a bit too steep to run down, and a beautiful view the entire time. It was a solid 4 mile loop by the time I got back. Parking is free and the trail is well maintained. There's a bathroom at the parking area. It's a 1 mile to the T up to the suspension bridge. If you keep going, you'll get to a Little Rock tunnel, then another bridge, and another bridge, and the run back if you're going counter clockwise like I did, is fairly easy there after. There's not a lot of shade so if it's a hot day, definitely bring a hat.

This trail is not one of my favorites, but it is close to home, so I find myself here when I need some outdoor therapy, but don't have the time to drive all the way across the valley. It's mostly a trail that people enjoy from the road. There are a few places you can "hike" or walk around, but they are minimal. Much of the canyon is fenced off and has "no trespassing" signs. As you get higher up the hill, the road becomes more narrow and winding, so can be a bit treacherous. I'm always surprised by at least one or two vehicles coming the opposite direction going far too fast. The canyon is closed during the winter. So enjoy it in the early fall while the leaves are changing, or in the summer when everything is in bloom.

Need a place to decompress? Suncrest trail or route is a great place to run, walk, or hike if you…read morewant to get in a quick workout. For those seeking more of challenge you can walk (for those who are undercover superheros run up) and then run down for 10 solid miles. Most folks who take this approach park at the Smiths or O'Riley's to begin their workout. Runners, walkers, and cyclists it really is a great place to decompress without having to go to far off the beaten path. Note: There is a bike path and walking trail most street runners/walkers talke along with cyclists. There is also an actual hiking trail, however, I'm not as familiar with that route. The path loops around the miniature mountain and loops back together from where you started, unless you take the wrong trail and end up climbing straight up the mountainside. The result will end is a magnificent view of Utah Valley and northern Utah valley, however it was not a easy trek for little kids. It wore mine out and was very slippery (don't let them wear flip flops...#momfail). If you stay on the CLEAR marked path, you should loop all the way around and have no trouble with tired feet or chance of getting hurt. It's about 1 mile all the way around.

And there's lots of parking and a restroom. This trail is relatively easy-although it does have a few elevation gains and steep-ish areas. The views overlooking the city below are beautiful. If you're looking for something really remote and "away from it all," this probably isn't the hike for you since you almost always have views of civilization, but if you want a quick hour long hike before you start work in the morning, this one's perfect.

This was my first ride in over a year so I should have gone home. No gloves, no padded shorts, one water bottle. I usually ride with three Liters of water. I was feeling good so pressed on with a round trip goal of 20 miles. The trail, in my area, is clean, devoid of trash or dumped garbage. Refreshing and peaceful. Very quiet. Mostly runners, mountain bikers, walkers and the occasional E Bike... maybe going faster than they should but I'm not the Park Ranger. The trail runs under the road in the trailI traveled so there is never the risk of getting hit by a car. In Vegas they have bike lanes but the road is shared and bikers are in constant danger of being hit. This JRT makes me feel safe. Along the way there are businesses in view so if you wanted to take a break or needed assistance resources were not far away. People I encountered were friendly. I saw beavers in the river and a deer. I got a vigorous workout and should have taken it easier on my first ride in a long time but it was so gorgeous out. If your curious about riding the JRT Through Draper I highly recommend it. Safe, beautiful and clean there's no reason I shouldn't get back in shape riding the JRT. Thank you for making this trail available for recreation. NOTE! If you have a road bike, I don't recommend as there are a lot of turns to maneuver.

I had to…read moreturn around at the Utah State Fair park due to the homeless blocking the trail, garbage, and I felt unsafe. Glass, garbage and tents were abundant north of the Japanese Gardens. The Japanese Gardens were very nice. If your downtown Salt Lake City on the Jordan River Trail be careful. Nothing like ride by a guy squatting on a Home Depot bucket taking a dump. Somebody is going to get hurt. Road the trail south the next day 15 miles from Taylorsville, very nice that part of the trail gets 5 stars.

Because it's mostly singletrack, it can be challenging when things get busy with both riders and hikers, especially during peak times. They've also started charging for parking, which is disappointing and takes away from the overall experience. While it's still a scenic trail system, the increased traffic and added fees have made it less appealing than it once was.

If you are seeking an easy access point with good parking, I recommend Olympic Park in Lehi. You can access the trail and go left or right depending on your mood by simply walking to the back of the park. The views in either direction are great and the path is paved, so it makes for an easy stroll, jog, or bike ride with the family. Lastly, we found it to be safe, not over crowded, and easily accessible.
